Frowning down at her, Merr shook his head. No actually. I had cut my hair shorter. I was refering to the days of illness you suffered afterward. Chuckling softly, he dropped his arms from around her neck, stepping to the side to face her. Looking down at her face, he smiled warmly, 'purring' deep in his throat. Like I said. If you want me to go have a rest, you'd better be prepared to accompany me.

"And who could I trust to keep the Pearl steady?" She asked. She didn't like talking about her day of illness. They showed weakness. "I could ask Alex, but I have no idea where he is. Or Ella." Her eyes glinted at the though of accompanying him. "I suppose if I accompanied you, we'd be in my quarters?"

I'm sure Alex wouldn't mind. He's gotta be on the ship, narrows down the possibilities. Smirking at her, he noticed the change in her eyes, his own eyes lighting up. Wow Jade, you're actually considering it? This was new... Was she feeling alright? Perhaps it had been the cold water making her feel odd but he wasn't going to miss his chance, if it was even a chance...

Appearance/ Description:
Melody Sharpe is petite and delicate-boned, with skin of a creamy brown hue and hair a quiet gold. Her face is round and cheerful, with a button nose and soft chocolate brown eyes. Her hair is cropped short at the base of her skull and has a tendency to curl just a little, turning dark brown when it gets wet. She has small feet but long legs, so she looks just a little bit disproportionate. She swears she'll grow out of it someday, but usually covers her tiny feet with deck-sweeping skirts of mottled hues. She tends to avoid overly bright colors, going for things like brown or deep green. She wears a full-sleeved white shirt and a brown headscarf covers her short gold hair.
Personality:
Melody is shorter than average, but makes up for it with the attitude of a lioness. She's never afraid to stick up for herself in a pinch, and although she's just a lowly cabin girl she is fiercely proud of her crew and her ship. She won't take an insult to them or herself lightly, and if there's a fistfight going on Melody can usually be found right in the middle of it. Because of this, she'll often have a black eye or a split lip, because she isn't that good at hand-to-hand combat but fights anyways. She loves to sing, dance, and act, with the innate and sometimes eerie ability to mimic sounds and voices with pitch-perfect accuracy. Because of her small stature and large pride, people don't usually take her very seriously, and she's often unable to prove them wrong. She hasn't got a fiery temper, I wouldn't say, but some things stick deep and she'll snap at a moment's notice if you hit the right buttons.

Jade raised an eyebrow at hm. "Well, considering I've saved you from sirens, and fallen into the water, and the fact that my leg is injured, I'm pretty tired." Why shouldn't she sleep? The captain looked around. Maybe someone else could steer the ship. "Oi, Melody!" She should at least give Melody something else to do.

"Yes'm?" said the petite cabin girl, brown-gold hair swaying around her face as she poked her head out of Jade's cabin. She was short, compared to most kids her age, but she made up for it with lionlike personality and a stubborn streak as wide as the river Nile. "Is there something you need help with?" She had a habit of addressing Jade as "Ma'am" or "Marm" as if she weren't a pirate but some motherly old woman. She mostly just did it so she could giggle at Jade's reaction when she wasn't looking.

Jade's face remained expressionless. "I need you to find Alex, or someone who can steer the Black Pearl while I, and Merr, rest." She explained, quickly making sure her vessel was on the right course.

Melody scuttled closer and said, "Can't I steer? Oh, please, Cap'n Jade, ain't I old enough yet?" This argument had been going on for quite a while, and the answer was always a vehement no, but there was no harm in trying. Melody really looked up to Jade, and steering the ship would be the first step in being a real pirate, instead of a lowly cabin girl. "Can't I please do it? Just this once?"

"Nay. Melody, we're on an important journey. Very important. I've already fought my mother, the daughter of Blackbeard once today and battled sirens. Once you've found someone to steer my ship, could you go and make some food? Patric's left his cook books." She told the young girl. "Once my leg is better, I might show you some fighting moves."

"Yes!" cheered Melody, laughing. "I'll go find somebody right away, Cap'n." She scurried off, cheering silently over what she saw as a victory. She wasn't really sure who she could get to steer the ship, since both Jade and Merr were injured, but Jade had said Alex. Figuring that the rigger would be up in the crow's nest, the petite girl raced to the mast and began to climb the thick rope rigging.
