Patric gritted his teeth, then clenched his fists and stood up. He set his broken fiddle down on the table, and next to it set a piece of parchment and a quill pen. He'd think of what to write later- for now, he needed to decide how to get his revenge. He had a great many things in his cabinets with which he could poison the crew, but it wasn't their death that he wanted. Actually, it was only Jade that he wanted to kill at the moment, but poisoning her food wasn't exactly fair. Instead, Patric sifted through his spices and herbs until he found three that, when combined with hot water, lime juice, and then dried into a powder, formed a highly effective sleeping draught. Not enough to last for days on end, or even a whole night- it was more a time of hours. It would have to be enough- it didn't take long to lower a longboat into the ocean and row out of sight. He'd do it, then- he'd finally get away. Any amount of time on the open ocean in a longboat, even if he had no provisions, was better than another day spent among these heartless pirates.
