Jade smiled. "You always know how to cheer me up." She told him, and gave him a soft kiss. As she did so, her hand rested on his head, near the wound. As her fingers brushed the dried blood, she sat up. "Ah. We'll have to clean that."

Merr smiled back at her, grey eyes sparkling. Well that's what I'm here for. I had better be able to cheer you up Flinching as her fingers brushed his head wound, he almost blushed in embarrassement. He had forgotten about it until now. Sighing softly, he nodded. It didn't look very nice against his hair, but then again, maybe that was for the best... They were making port soon, and he tended to lose himself... Maybe the bump on the head would do him some good.

Carefully, she slid of the bed and rumaged in the drawer, pulling out a dusty bottle of rum. Striding back to him, she smiled apologetically. "This will sting. I learnt that the bad way." She pulled hte cork out and sat beside him. "You'll have to hold yourself up though."

Frowning a little at her as she slid away from him to retrieve the bottle of rum, he smiled weakly as she spoke. I know. This isn't the first time I've hurt myself Jade. Nor the last, no doubt. Actually, it isn't even the most serious... As weird as it may sound, it wasn't the worst injury he had ever had, even though it could have killed him. She sat down beside him, bottle in hand... He watched her carefully, holding himself up as she had told him to. This would certainly be painful, but he could deal with it. He had to.

"Would you like to recount the story?" She asked, grabbing the rag at her side and pouring some rum onto it, then pressing it firmly on his wound, watching him.While she did this, she took a quick drink, licking her lips.

[Is it just me, or does pouring rum into a wound sound like a really bad idea?]
[And, er, I really haven't got anything to say, character-wise ^^;]

(Alcohol is an old treatment for stopping wounds getting infected. I learnt that in biology.)
(Just bang on the door saying something about food supplies or about Jade promising to teach Melody how to sword fight.)

Shaking his head ever so slightly, he smirked at her, gritting his teeth as she pressed the rum soaked rag onto his wound. It took a lot of effort to stop himself from crying out in pain. It was burning. His breathing got faster as he calmed himself, but he didn't move too much. Not enough for Jade to have a go at him. Enjoying yourself? She was drinking rum while he was in severe pain, typical Jade behaviour.

"Course." She answer, moving her arm to hand the bottle to him. "Or is it because you want some?" She grinned, shaking the bottle gently. "Or I could have the rest of it..."

Smirking at her, he pushed the bottle back to her. You can have it. My head's already burning, don't need my throat too. Chuckling softly, he gently stroked her cheek with the back of his hand. Although Jade... There might be something else you could do for me? If you really want to help? It was funny how even in pain, he could keep his charm, sort of. One track mind... Although everyone knew about that.
