Valerie raised her hand. "Hello, Mr. Schu, I'm Valerie Campbell. I'm new here and I was wondering if I could tryout now." she said.

Darren also rasied his hand. "Hi, Mr. Schu. I'm new as well, so can I tryout after Val?" he asked.

"How about this:" Mr Schu began with a smile, still creepily lurking on his face. "since we're short on time, you two, sing a duet as your audition. sound good?" he asked.

Payson laughed under her breath. This is gonna be good she would think. Payson scooted over to Santana. "Hey Santana. How was your summer?" she asked.

Rachel raised her hand. "Mr. Schu, after these two sing their duet or solos or whatever they decide on doing, I propose we begin on ideas for sectionals. Since we lost Nationals last year, we need to up our game by practice, practice, practice!" she said excitedly.

"Well, I think Rachel is right. We need a better anthem for inspiration for sectionals. So, if you can find an anthem that supports this club, I want you to show it off. I'm making this a contest. the person wih the best song, who also performs it the best, will get a song of their choice featured with them singing the solo at sectionals. So, get to work guys." Mr Schu replied.

Rachel smiled. "I've so got his." she said to Finn, smiling at her boyfriend.

Mr. Schu's smile was slightly less bright. "Rachel, you realize that ever time we lost, we had a duet with you two? Maybe we should give it someone else... I mean, Valerie and Darren did amazing today." he added.

Payson smiled slightly. "They did and I think we need to give other people a chance in the spotlight." she suggested.
