Fyn smiled, she could be so unpredictable at times. 'You know what? I just forget all my troubles when you say things like that.' He gave her a quick kiss before realising that his shoulder burned ferociously. He tried to ignore it. His body was used to the quick-fix that their hospitals usually conducted, but not this time.

Luyi smiled happily after he'd softly kissed her, satisfied. "That's why I say it." She told him with a smile, leaning back once more as her gaze flickered over him curiously. "I could try to find some pain relief.." She offered with a shrug.

'Well,' Fyn said, trying not to wince, 'I can describe a particular root to you. You might find something like it in here.' He leant against the wall behind him, 'There is a dark green root that has some dull yellow flowers on its top. It's rather hard, but can be crushed down to drain out a clear anaesthetic. If you could find some of that would be really helpful,' he said smiling up at her.

Luyi nodded and stood up, looking around for something that resembled it. She sighed and started to search through the boxes. She opened one and a hairy spider jumped at her, but she shot it dead and looked shocked. She took a deep breath before quickly closing that box and looking through the one next it, hoping there weren't any spiders like that one left.

It was hard to ignore the loud bang of Luyi's gun, 'Are you okay? What happened?' Fyn called to her. 'It's ok, you don't have to try and get it, i'll be fine. I'm not even sure if it's in here.'

Luyi shook her head, determined to find it. "I'm fine, nothing happened." She lied, opening more boxes as she searched for the item, knowing it had to be in here somewhere. I mean, they needed it very much, didn't they? Surely they would have it since they needed it so much! After searching through almost the whole place, she found it and smiled, walkng quietly back to him and showing him the plant. "Okay, now what do I do?" She asked quietly, sitting next to him again.

Fyn smiled when she returned, 'You found it! Great work.' He took it from her and took out a small knife from his pocket. He sliced the top off the root. 'Okay, do you think there might be a bowl in here somewhere? I'll need to put the juice somewhere.' He put the root onto the floor and began to cut it up. The rumours were right, it did have a strong pungent smell, and it was extremely hard to cut. But once he got through it, he felt the root's damp texture with the tip of his finger, which soon went numb.

Luyi had seen a bowl before and she nodded, standing up and going to find it. It was in one of the last boxes she'd looked through, so she found it easily enough and took it out. She quickly walked back to him and sat down again, putting the bowl next to him and watching him. She really hoped her family would like him, because she really did, and she didn't want to leave him alone somewhere. She was pretty sure her older sister would like him, because she liked whatever made Luyi happy.

'Ok, great,' he said with a smile. Over the bowl, he began squeezing the pieces of root tightly so that, slowly, a thick clear liquid dripped into the bowl. When he'd finished doing all the little pieces, he put them aside and picked up the bowl. He dipped two fingers in and applied some to his wound. It stung a little at first, but he slowly sighed as the pain totally disappeared. 'That's a lot better, thankyou.'

Luyi watched him with interest and smiled faintly, wishing Earth had medicine like that. They had no chance against these people, no chance at all. They had better weapons, better technology, better plants, even! She sighed inaudibly and leaned against the wall, hoping the worry didn't show on her face. It did, but she didn't realise. She stared into the distance, worrying and thinking.
