Dylan
Dylan smiled. Rose's humor brightened his mood, even in the darkest of times. "Well, if I told you the truth, you'd call me crazy." Dylan helped Rose up, pulling her up with her good arm. He also pulled out his aureus, and watch in amazement as it turned into a sword. "We really need to get you one of these." He felt it in his hand, grasping the hilt and turning it over, the compass-thingamajig facing up at him. Its arrow pointed to the east, like the mysterious lady said.
Great. So that means the lady and the sword are connected.
There are dark forces at play. The lady's voice echoed in his mind. Could she be suggesting that his sword is dangerous? That it is actually working
against him?
No. Dylan shook his head as he looked down at his sword, shimmering ominously..
My father, whoever he is, gave this to me. It's safe."So, it seems we will be going east." Dylan, watching Rose carefully in case she stumbled on a tree root or the loss of blood made her dizzy, kept close to Rose.
