Dylan
Dylan slid into the corner of the car and waited for the other three to come through. Although it was still chilly inside the cart, he was greatful that he was shielded from the harsh winds outside.

He watched the other three come through after him, but he was only half there. He was zoned out, exhausted and tired already, and they hadn't really done much. He noticed Martin wore the same look on his face, with the exception that he was warm, since he was wearing a jacket, earmuffs, and gloves. Wait, what? "Martin, where did you get those?" Dylan asked longingly.

Martin
Martin blushed. "Oh yeah, how could I forget?" He pulled out a white backpack with the omega symbol and an owl of Athena on it. "The Athena and Hephaestus cabin worked together to make this," he explained, as he pulled out three coats, earmuffs, and gloves. "The head campers of Athena and Hephaestus gifted this to me before I left. They put all sorts of survival gear in here for all of us on our quest. It's practically bottomless and fits anything from a pebble to a full-sized pegasus, though they advised me not to put living things in here. All you have to do is say the word in Greek and it'll pop out."

Rose

Rose accepted a pair of fuzzy green earmuffs gratefully. She slipped them on over her ears, which instantly started warming. "Thank gods for the battle strategists and blacksmiths," she said, sliding on the black jacket and green gloves —also fluffy. She glanced over at Jacob, who had selected the orange set of earmuffs and gloves. His jacket was black as well. "Thank you, Martin, Rose said, no longer shivering. She noticed that there were only three pair of everything, not including what Martin was wearing. What about Amaryllis? She glanced over at the Huntress. She appeared perfectly comfortable in what she was wearing. Must be some form of goddess-of-the-hunt magic sealed in those clothes, Rose thought.

Dylan
Dylan opted for the blue pair of earmuffs and gloves, of course. Like all their jackets, his was black as well. "Thanks, Martin. You're a life saver." He slid them on quickly, and was quickly warmed. The earmuffs and gloves seemed to be radiating heat onto his ears and chilled fingers. They probably are, knowing that the Hephaestus cabin made them.

Amaryllis
Amaryllis could practically read the question Rose was dying to ask just judging by the expression on the half-blood's face. "No, I do not get cold," she said, amused. "Well, sometimes. But my fleece is warm enough for the extreme chills of winter, and light enough for the heat waves in the summertime." She slipped her hood over her dark mocha hair, which had sheep down on it to insolate her further. "I am fine."

Rose

Rose nodded, smiling a little. "It looks comfortable," she admitted, walking over to one side of the cart and sitting down with her back against the wall. She saw Jacob do the same, except on the other side of the cart, and take out his pen and twist it. It turned into his spear. She watched him take out a sharpening tool and set to work, making the already deadly bronze tip even sharper. She pulled up her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around them and resting her chin on her knees. She assumed this position a lot when she was bored. "I suppose we've got a long way to travel," she said conversationally to the Huntress.

Amaryllis
Amaryllis shrugged, feigning a lack of interest. "Well, it is not too late for thou to have a huntress's fleece. Thou could join the Hunters of Artemis." She smiled slightly for the first time since she got here, before changing the subject. "It is not too far. Perhaps another day's travel, if we continue to ride this.. train. Perhaps thou should rest."

Rose

Rose started in shock. "Just... join? You can do that?" she said, astonishment in her expression. She quickly schooled her face, however, and said in a forced off-hand tone, "Oh, that's um, interesting. And yeah you're right, I should try and rest." Rose took her backpack off, setting it on the floor next to her and lay on it. The jacket provided enough of a cushion between her and the floor to where it wasn't uncomfortable, and the backpack made a suitable pillow. She closed her eyes, but she knew she wouldn't be able to sleep— images of herself dressed as a hunter, chasing after monsters with her comrades flashed across her mind, providing an effective distraction.

Amaryllis
Amaryllis nodded. "Anyone that is worthy is offered the chance. But it is a rare opportunity, and it is not offered twice." She stopped talking and let the half-blood doze off. She was tired too, but she was immortal, and could go for much longer with less sleep. She offered to take up first watch and let Jacob, Dylan, and Martin sleep.

Dylan
Dylan was horrified by Rose's eagerness. She sounded like she wanted to be a huntress. She wouldn't leave him, would she?

He didn't say anything, because he would have to admit to eavesdropping. He instead rolled over and try to fall into a fitful sleep.

Rose

After about twenty minutes, Rose drifted off. She dreamed of the scenes she'd pictured earlier — running with a pack of white wolves, hunting with her sisters-in-arms... living forever... having a family of your closest friends... Wait— friends... she'd hardly ever see Dylan again, or Martin. Not even Jacob. The thought sent such a shockwave of loss through her that she woke up, gasping and sitting up. The cart was dark now. She could barely see anything through the almost pitch-darkness.

Amaryllis
Amaryllis leaned against the cold car and watched as it grew dark around her. She'd been alive for so long, hours turned into minutes, and soon enough they were all asleep deeply. That was, until Rose woke up with a start. Amaryllis once again thought of her home, and her heart ached. The newer huntresses were often battered with nightmares of monsters, especially after their first time fighting one. She used to be the one to soothe them, and this occasion was no different then that. She peered over at Rose, her worried frown clear even in the darkness. "What is troubling you?" She whispered, so she would not wake up the others.

Rose

Rose's head turned in the direction of Amaryllis' voice. It took her a moment to process what the Huntress was asking, but after a second or two, she said, "Well... I was dreaming of what it would be like to become a Huntress. It sounded great, but then I thought about loosing my friends... Dylan and I are close," she admitted, her tone also a soft whisper. "The thought of not being able to see any of them..." she didn't finish her sentence, but she had a feeling Amaryllis knew what she would have said.
