Soren just nodded at her words, he was honestly feeling a bit delirious at this point and couldn't focus on much. Meanwhile as he sat at his desk Alex perked up at the sound of his phone ringing. Sighing he quickly answered it with a soft "hello?"

Maddie watched at the corner of her eye as she waited before hearing Alex answer. " Hi Alex... this is Maddie, from the other day.... " She hoped he would recognize her.

"Oh, hello, yeah I remember you, everything alright?" he asked. He was currently writing a report from a recent arrest he had made that day and he was honestly a bit annoyed. But he also wondered if something was wrong with his brother, after all he hardly hears from him.

Maddie sighed in relief before getting straight to the point. "Soren just had surgery... I don't know how to take care of him. " She admitted, looking out the window again. She was embarrassed, and as always, nervous, because Alex was a cop, and even though he helped her once, he could take her to jail whenever he wanted.

Alex let out an annoyed sigh, "what did my dumb brother do now?" he asked, finishing up his report and setting his pen down. He was exhausted, but luckily he got of work in a few minutes.

Maddie tilted her head a bit. " He got a stomach ulcer... Stress as well. " She sighed a bit. "If you don't want to help it's fine, I'd figure it out..." She added, biting her lip.

Alex shook his head despite the fact that no one could see it. "I see, he never knows when to relax does he? But I'll come by after work, I get off in a few minutes" he said, glancing at the clock and sighing softly. "Sorry I have to go, I have to clock out, I'll see you in a few minutes" he added, hanging up the phone and gathering his stuff. Soon enough they arrived back at Soren's house. He thanked the driver and helped Maddie inside where he sat her down on the couch. Not even a few minutes later Alex walked in and sat beside Soren. "I'm here to make you food" he said although Soren shook his head. "No I'm fine.. I'm not hungry" he mumbled, however his belly rumbled loudly in protest. "Don't lie, I can hear your stomach growling and I'm sure she can too" Alex said as he glanced at Maddie.

Maddie sighed in relief. "Thank you, I'll see you soon. " She said before looking at Soren. As Soren helped her in she couldn't help but grumble. She was supposed to help him, not the other way around. As Alex entered she smiled a bit. She went to object when Soren said he wasn't hungry, but Alex beat her to it first." I can hear it too." She told him, nodding thankfully at Alex.

Soren hung his head in defeat and sighed, a little embarrassed she should could hear it too. "Fine.. I'm supposed to be on a liquid diet and make Maddie something too please" he said, watching as his brother stood up and silently went into the kitchen. The blond laid back against the couch and sighed, placing a hand on his abdomen with a wince.

Maddie laid her head on his shoulder and sighed. "You shouldn't be embarrassed for being hungry," She told him, watching Soren wince, "Does it hurt?" She asked, an edge of concern in her tone. She was a little hungry, but she wouldn't refuse food.
