Leaxa's heart skipped a beat as he listened to what he had to say. He loved Tobyn's cattle and now they might be randomly astray? He sat up, then stood, walking over to one of the windows in his bedroom. He moved the curtains back to take a look at the view that he was presented with, hoping to see at least Stew..

Tobyn Ambrose

Most of his cattle were grazing on the hill, some even still in the field. There was notably less of them, at least ten not visible from the window - Stew included. Stew was liable to wander, however, having seen more of the world than the cows of the herd.

The gate itself was a fairly grim sight, broken down through the middle, hanging off its hinges and stained a crimson in places it wasn't before. Tobyn got up to stand beside him and look out of the window, counting under his breath how many were visible from there.

Leaxa let go of the curtain and backed up a little before turning around. He let out a silent sigh of relief to have seen Stew - he didn't really care about the other cattle so much, but he knew that they were Tobyn's precious animals.

He left the bedroom and took his leather off as he walked away to the guest bedroom. Leaxa laid the leather jacket and gloves on the bed before he walked back out. He went to wait for Tobyn by the door - he would've left, but he needed to make sure that he would be okay. He was afraid to leave him alone.

Tobyn Ambrose

Tobyn changed into work clothes as soon as Leaxa was out of the room, working quickly. He wanted to get out and bring his cattle into the barn with the promise of food, so he could keep them safe while he fixed up the fence.

He greeted Leaxa at the door, hanging back slightly so they wouldn't accidentally touch - he didn't think that the god could handle it right now.. or ever again, in truth.

Leaxa hesitantly reached out to grab the door knob, then opened the door and walked outside. As he went outside, he looked around at his surroundings, taking a moment to figure out what he should do. He didn't know if he should try to help, or if he should stand back.

Tobyn Ambrose

Tobyn began whistling once he made it out, relieved when Stew came for him right away. A few of the grazing cattle shifted and began heading towards the barn for breakfast, though others stayed right where they were. "Leaxa, could you get the fodder and feed the cattle that are in the barn?" Tobyn asked. He held onto Stew, who was looking fairly pleased to see Tobyn alright. "Then shut as many as you can in - I need to find the rest."

Leaxa nodded a little bit before walking past him and heading off to the shed. He grabbed a sack of fodder and carried it off to the barn. He hesitated for a moment before he poured some feed into the trough. He glanced around at the cows that were make their way up to the trough as he walked past them to the barn doors.

Leaxa left the barn and shut the doors to keep them in there before he headed back to the shed and put the sack of fodder away. Then, he left and walked back over to Tobyn, awaiting his next task.

Tobyn Ambrose

Tobyn was busily trying to coax some of the grazing cows back into the fencing, to no avail - the grass outside was much longer, since it hadn't been eaten by the cattle before, and they were very happily enjoying their meal. He broke away to look around again, then glanced to Leaxa. "Did you see Sal in the barn?" He asked nervously. "I've found Buttercup, but not her calf."

Leaxa shrugged - he hadn't paid enough attention to have noticed any particular cow. He felt awful for giving him nothing more than a shrug but didn't feel like talking. Instead, he headed back to the barn and opened the doors just by a crack to peer inside to see if he could spot the calf.

Tobyn Ambrose

Tobyn let out a soft sigh as Leaxa moved away, and went back to coaxing cows into the field. Sal was among the cattle in the barn, lost and crying out for his mother through the herd.

Eventually, Tobyn was stood where the gate had fallen. All of the cattle that had been on the hill were now either in the barn or the field; only two missing entirely.
