Ikari woke to slight sunlight filtering through his window. Groggily, he looked out his window to a sky almost all covered in clouds, and raindrops spattered against the window. Ikari groaned, for he hated the rain. He only liked it if there was lightning because then it spontaneously lit up the rooms, and Ikari liked things like that: Dangerous and random, yet cool and amazing. He got up and changed slowly into jeans and a tattered t-shirt, and walked downstairs. He laid down on the floor next to the couch and rested his head on his hands, laying near Sasaki. It was comfort to him, and he soon fell asleep there on the floor, snoring ever-so-slightly.

Sasaki finally woke up, swinging her legs over the edge of the couch but freezing once she felt something warm. "I-Ikari?..." She gasped quietly, removing her feet from his side and kneeling down beside him, peering at him. When did he get here?... She said quietly, looking down at his sleeping face while listening to the soothing sound of rain.

Ikari woke with a start as he rolled onto his back. "W-what did I d-do?!" He stuttered as his focus was still blurry, feeling like a kid in trouble. But once he saw Sasaki had woken up and had seen him, he relaxed and stood up, brushing off his jeans lazily. "Rise and shine," he said with a stupid, sleepy grin plastered on his face from ear to ear. His eyes were half closed, like he was half asleep, but he was fully awake. "Sorry I didn't make breakfast," he said while rubbing his eyes. "I literally woke and came down here to just sit, but I fell asleep near you. You comfort me." He stood her up gently and held her close, his chin on her head as he pressed his chest against her back, swaying softy.

Sasaki giggled a little and smiled, shutting her eyes and swayed with him just a little. "That's very sweet. I could make some breakfast, since your mom and dad aren't a-" Sasaki stopped when a clasp of thunder struck. She flinched and whimpered, lowering her head. She would have covered her ears, but Ikari was hugging her in a way that she couldn't move her arms. She had her breath caught in her throat and her ears flattened forwards against her head.

Ikari saw the distress and fear Sasaki had for thunder, and he released his grip a little so she could move around. He sat her down on the couch next to him and said quietly, repeatedly, "Shh... Shh..." He wrapped his arm lightly around her neck and squeezed her shoulder reassuringly. But Ikari couldn't help but smile. He loved thunder and lightning ever since he was a kid. It had always fascinated him, but he wanted to help Sasaki now. He couldn't be hyper and happy with it while his girlfriend was scared.

Sasaki trembled lightly and took in a deep breath, smiling a bit at Ikari. "S-Sorry... Thunder and lighting scare me... My grandpa and his brother were both struck by lightning and the noise... it was just scary." She said quietly, shutting her eyes with her hands on her ears. When the thunder struck again, she sunk lower and whimpered. She feared lightning almost as much as she had feared Talon. She was starting to feel a little comfortable though. With Ikari here, she was kind of happy. Ikari was getting to know her almost as well as Shiro knew her.

Ikari rubbed his hand down her back gently and sighed. It was just so hard for him to be to contained with thunder and lightning. "Personally, I love thunder and lightning, but I can see how it scares you. It just fascinates me, and I feel like I get power from it." He took in another breath as his tail curling around Sasaki's back. "But you have every right to be scared, and I'm here for you."

Sasaki could feel Ikari's warm tail against her back and curled against him. "Sorry for making you have to do this." She said quietly, her hands clutching to Ikari's shirt and smiling up at him. Sasaki heard the thunder again and flinched, burying her face into Ikari's chest. Her ears stays flattened against her head and her tail bristled just bit in nervousness.

"Shh, just relax. Everything's alright," Ikari soothed, his voice like velvet. But it wasn't controlling like Talon's. It was quiet and soft, like one talking to a scared child. Hie eyes stayed trained on the window, where he watched eagerly for each strike of lightning. It came, and he smiled slyly, but then remembered Sasaki's fear, so he fixed his face back to being serious.
