- Drew couldn’t help but shrug when she apologized before continuing on. “It’s true, they can be. I’m fortunate in their world to be of a color and language that doesn’t get that kind of hate.” Being here, in the wizarding world, just made him appreciate that more but it also gave him insight as to how other minorities might feel. He almost jumped when the sound of a dragon came from her mouth before he started to laugh. He hadn’t been expecting it because he hadn’t been looking when she had taken a bite of the fizzy. “Sounding fierce there, Blair.” He teased lightly before he listened to her words.
She was fierce, in her own way. He offered a sympathetic smile. He knew a thing or two about trying to please parents… though his parents were now impossible to please because of what they asked of him. They simply wanted him to be different. They wanted him to be a muggle like them but it was biologically impossible. “The things we do to survive don’t define us.” He offered vaguely with another shrug. “We’ve all been put into an impossible situation before… and it sounds like that’s what you’re in now… I was in that with my parents. They don’t like the fact that I’m a wizard… they’re like a muggle version of purists… thought having magic made me weird or unworthy of their love.” He explained trying to relate to her.
