➪ Fallon Westbrook
➪ Coffee shop owner - owns The Steamed Bean
➪ 22
➪ Fallon has a pretty chilled out personality, she is outgoing and tries her best to keep a smile on her face at all times. though, she has been subjected to overworking herself at times and that can get a bit stressful. she also very easy to tease as her friends have discovered but she doesn't let it get to her that much since it is just harmless fun. She is a bit of a night owl and that is reflected at what time she maintains the shop. Typically later in the day till past midnight, she has other workers handle the day shift while she usually handles night time endeavors, although business does tend to slow down at night.
➪ She likes to dress comfortable and casual, so most of the time she'll be in a sweatshirt and leggings or maybe even some sweatpants. Her hair is down most of the time, unless it's raining. She is about 5'4" and has a few band-aids on her fingers due to a few accidents when cutting some ingredients. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

➪ Holden Court
➪ Tattoo artist
➪ 23
➪ Holden is focused and doesn't take much flak from people, he can be very upfront and stern when working, he can be a perfectionist at times and spend a long time on his craft. He likes to separate his work self from his casual self due to the reputation of some of the people he works with. When he's not working he has a fairly dry sense of humour and isn't not as uptight when it comes to his friends. He cares for anyone in his life deeply and would break a bone for anyone close to him. If he doesn't like something or feels that one of his friends are making a bad choice, he will voice his opinion if it's asked or not. He just wants to make sure that everyone is safe. Although him and Fallon are pretty much opposites, he considers her to be one of his closest friends. They have a brother and sister type relationship.
➪ Standing at 6'0" Holden trumps over a lot of people, he has blonde hair and brown eyes. He has two full sleeves of tattoos on each arm each spanning to the beginning of his chest. On his back he has a tattoo covering the full length of his back. White t-shirts are his go-to part of an outfit, accompanied with a jean jacket and a dark pair of jeans.

Name: Jena Ruita
Age: 23
Appearance: Dark, alternative rebel style. 5'7 in height, likes black combat boots and stylish jackets. He almost always has pink or red contact lenses in, and has a weird thing about people seeing his true eye color.
Personality: Jena, despite his outward appearance, is the sweetest guy you could ever meet. He is a teddy bear through and through, and has a knack with kids. He’s very laid back and calm; sometimes coming off as melancholy or out of touch with emotion. He holds other people in high regard and will be polite and respectful to everyone he knows. It takes a bit to get him to open up because he’s very good at keeping the attention on other people.
History: His mother has always been an addict, and his father is disabled from a car accident. Having grown up doing whatever he could to get money and stay alive, Jena is very street smart and has some interesting stories, like how he got his tattoos etc. He now works at a tattoo parlor and goes to online school in his free time.
Favorite things:
Colors: Black, silver, pink
Animals: Snakes, bears
Music: Punk rock, violins
Food: Everything
Instrument: Guitar, piano
Skills: He has great skill in both instruments he plays. Amateur artist.
Disabilities: Dyslexic
Name:Milo Daniel Scott, blessed with three first names -sarcasm-
Just Milo or occasionally Danny by closer friendsAge:24
Appearance:Let's just say he runs into door frames now and then with his 6'3. Approx. 160
Muscular, mainly in the torso. He has what appears as a moderate to slim build.
Ear gauges, nose ring, his pride and joy tattoos. The tattoos cover down his neck to his arms, he just recently started getting more complex scenes down the back and chest so he may be sore from that every once in awhile.Personality:Milo is a rebel, simply put. A very funny one too. He'll do whatever he wants when he wants and breaking rules is more then a habit by now. He loves his friends and is extremely loyal to those closest to him, which is very few. He is good at cracking jokes and just being weird and funny at the worst time, like when he almost crashed a wedding but that's another story. Even though at first glance he doesn't seem that complicated, just an easy going guy having a good time with his life, it's really the opposite. He hides secrets almost too well and has put up walls, making himself less and less trusting towards others even if it's not obvious. It takes a patient person to help build him back up after he's crumbled so low he's lost sight of who he really is. He can have a bad temper, plenty of grumpy days but ultimately he's a pretty sweet guy who just wants to not only survive, but to thrive.History:Milo grew up with a pretty 'normal' family, if it could be considered that. His mom and dad worked and his two younger sisters were homeschooled, but he'd always been that troublesome kid always in and out of detention and sometimes even the back of a patrol car. He only got worse after that, feeling betrayed by his parents who only told him he'd get nowhere in life by following a music career, the one thing he was truly passionate about. He moved out, and with that he left the rules and expectations of his family. He's fallen a lot along the way, it got really bad a couple years ago and he quickly made friends with Jena when they both got into trouble a lot. He somehow managed to convince Fallon to hire him, and he tries his best for her.Likes:Parkour, aerial tricks, ukulele, steak, having time to himself, graffiti, singingDislikes:Too much responsibility, shy people, seafoodTalents:Free running, singing, playing the guitar or ukulele. He can also play the drums but he's not an expert yet. He does have an amazing singing voice thoughInteresting Facts:He lives alone in an apartment, and is actually Irish. He's more of a morning person than a night owl and helps Fallon with the early shift.fc: Jake Hold

Jena Ruita
Jena got off work late. Like, really late. He’d clocked in before noon and it was now around 11:00pm.
He wasn’t very tired though, considering work consisted mostly of watching tattoo artists do their thing and he got to call it ‘learning’. He’d occasionally clean the shop, but it was a very laid back job; perfect for him. Now it was late and he felt...well he wasn’t sure. Definitely not tired though. He walked down the sidewalk, observing the town as the night life flourished around him. He stuck his hands in his pant pockets and walked silently, his soft shoes not making much noise. The young man stopped after crossing the street and tilted his head slightly; eyes fixed on the building in front of him. ”The Steamed Bean? When did this get here?” He wondered, staring inside the glass door for a long moment. He’d lived in this area over 5 years, but never had he noticed this coffee shop. True, he wasn’t one to occupy a coffee shop very often, but it still puzzled him how he’d missed this.
Jena reached out a milky white hand and let his fingers rest on the door handle. ”Yes, a quiet place to sit might be nice.” He convinced himself and pulled open the door, the fresh smell of coffee hitting him instantly. A slight smile played on his lips as he entered. The place truly was what he’d define as cozy, plenty of sitting areas and mood lighting the wasn’t so bright you felt startled and not too dim that you couldn’t speak freely to someone across from you. He brushed some black hair out of his face, letting it fall right back into its place near his left eye as he walked up to the front counter and waited to be greeted by whoever was working currently. He didn’t bother to look at whoever it was right away, his currently red eyes inspecting a ‘daily specials’ menu.

Fallon let out a long winded sigh, she had spent the past hour and a half cleaning around the kitchen since the daytime staff neglected to do so. Sure it gave her something to do during the dull night hours but she would prefer it if her business could stay clean. A note she would have to write for later. If she could be bothered to do so. The brunette hummed along to the soft beat that was playing through the speakers; a playlist she had made that was full of relaxing songs. The music wasn’t loud but enough so you could hear it in a moment of relaxation. It was a slow night as per usual, a few people had dropped by for tea or a late night snack. It was perfect for her. Fallon was the only one who worked into the late hours of the night, she couldn’t imagine handling a rush of people by herself. Deciding she wasn’t satisfied with how she wiped down the counters, she grabbed a wet cloth and wiped it down once more. She had always taken pride in a clean presentation and her workspace was no exception.
Fallon raised her heels off the ground to give herself a little boost to check the inside of the coffee machine to see if any excess coffee grinds had been left over. It seemed that the inside had at least been cleaned, she couldn’t imagine selling moldy coffee. Fallon spun around when she heard the door chime as it had been open. A rather intimidating looking fellow had entered, she swallowed hoping she wasn’t about to be attacked. An unfair judgement considering this man could be a potential customer but the colour of his eyes were somewhat off putting to her. Still, she wouldn’t let that be shown as she would treat him like any normal customer. Fallon set the cloth down in the sink and she washed her hands as she displayed a friendly but nervous smile, perhaps she was letting it get to her a tiny bit. “Welcome to The Steamed Bean. What can I get for you tonight?” She offered the scary looking individual.

Jena Ruita
Jena gently tapped his fingers against the counter as he took in all his options; sometimes he was indecisive. A cup of tea sounded very nice, but that didn’t seem strong enough. He knew full well he had homework to finish when he got home, so a little more caffeine would be necessary. The man did not realize how long he was taking looking at the menu. When the girl walked up and asked what he wanted, he nearly jumped out of his skin in surprise. His eyes met hers and he gave her a smile instantly; a rather unexpected sight despite his appearance. “So sorry I didn’t see you there.” He apologized lightly. He leaned forward a bit, resting his elbows on the counter and lacing his fingers together. He was fully aware of the nervous edge to her voice and the way she was trying hard not to stare, so he hoped some small talk would put her at ease. “I’m afraid I’m having a hard time deciding. What do you normally like to drink at this time of night?” He asked her, trying to sound casual.
As he waited for a response, he took everything in better. She was shorter than him by a few inches he guessed, which was nice considering most guys were taller than he was and most girls wanted men to be taller. He guessed by her outfit and apron that she was either an employee or the owner of the establishment. He’d be surprised if the owner willingly worked this late though. “Maybe she enjoys the night life.” He thought, tilting his head slightly. All of this ran through his head in just a couple seconds.

Fallon swayed on her feet waiting for the man to decide what he would like to order. She was shocked to hear that he hadn’t even seen her at first, a part of her wondered if it was a stab at her height but quickly brushed off that idea. She was making too many assumptions about a customer and that was not a good mindset for the owner of an establishment to have. “Oh! That’s okay… I was just cleaning.” She told him and averted her eyes for a moment before looking back toward him. Fallon was surprised to see him crack a smile, perhaps she would survive another night. She hummed at his question and brought her finger to her mouth as she thought. What did she enjoy at this time of night? “If you’re looking to stay awake… An espresso is always good.” She suggests and rests her hands on the edge of the counter gripping it slightly. “Or if you’re interested in anything else I can make that for you too.”
She wasn’t sure what else to say, the man was considerably taller than her and had an interesting style. Though, it seemed to suit him. Fallon always thought the grunge type of style was good for a select amount of people and this customer certainty pulled it off; Although it was intimidating. Fallon stepped back from the counter feeling that she was pressuring him a little by being so close. “Take your time, it’s been pretty slow tonight.” She said also trying to make some small talk with the customer. Fallon adjusted her name tag on her apron as it was a bit crooked and looked at the clock across the counter. 11:08… She still had a while to go before close, not that she minded an empty shop but it was a tad bit boring when there was nothing to do.

The boy watched her silently as she brought a finger to her mouth thoughtfully. He was startled to find himself mildly attracted to the gesture. ”It was just cute, no need to get ahead of yourself.” He thought. He snapped out of it as she spoke again and he nodded slowly, a blank expression on his face unbeknownst to him. ”Espresso sounds lovely.” He replied, drumming his fingers on the counter lightly. He cocked his head at her as she gripped the edge of the counter and leaned away from him. ”With a drop of honey, please.” He added after some thought. He disliked scaring people, but he liked dressing comfortably more so. So scaring people occasionally just happened. Growing up on the streets had called for some form of intimidation, and he hated admitting he’d earned a bit of a reputation in certain areas of town. The thought seemed to make his tattoos prickle with memory.
He glanced at the clock as well, suddenly dreading a long night of homework. He knew he had his laptop in his back pack currently, maybe he could start working here..? He looked back at the girl as she adjusted her name tag and gestured to her politely. ”Miss Fallon, how late are you open if I may ask? He inquired, his grey backpack slung off one shoulder. He didn’t want to bother her or make her feel obligated to stay open late for him, but he hadn’t thought to check the hours of operation sign when walking in. He bit his lip ring, silently scolding himself for even asking her, he really should just get out of her hair and disappear. Just another customer on a boring weekday evening. Something drew him to the girl though, a curiosity if you will. Unusual enough for him he was willing to linger a bit.

Fallon nodded at his order and went to the sink to wash her hands, she shook them so they were semi-dry and grabbed a cloth to wipe them completely dry. She reached up and grabbed a mug from the shelf beside her. Fallon turned and nodded at his request for honey. Fallon ran her finger across multiple tins in the back before finding the coffee she was looking for. She tapped the top of the tin before sliding it toward her. She popped off the lid and dumped it into the top of the machine. Fallon pressed the start button. She watched as the water and coffee bean mixture poured into the mug that had been ordered. Fallon swayed on her feet once more and hummed, watching the machine do its job. Once the last few drops were in the mug she grabbed the jar of honey that sat beside it on the counter.
The brunette blushed hearing the man use the title “Miss” when addressing her, “Oh! Fallon is just fine…” She said not wanting to seem too formal toward a customer. “I typically close around 3; are you going to stick around for a bit?” She asked, and turned around. She felt that she had asked the question a little too casually.. Maybe she needed a coffee of her own to get back on track. She set down the hot mug in front of her and slid it toward him. “That will be $3.50” She said and put it on the cash register. Fallon felt a bit more at ease now that he had ordered something and didn’t seem like he was out to get her in any way, shape, or form. It was an overreaction sure but there was no telling who would come through those doors this late at night. A certain anxiety she would have to get over, especially since she was the one who preferred to work this late at night.

Jena Ruita
He watched with interest as she made his drink for him, moving about with practiced ease. He’d always admired barista’s; having zero knowledge of coffee items himself. His red gaze followed her curiously as she set the steaming cup before him. He nodded as she said he could just call her Fallon. He wouldn’t, but it was nice of her to keep it casual. Jena was very pleased to hear she stayed open so late, maybe this would end up being the perfect spot for him when he had these type of nights. ”Do you enjoy staying open so late Miss Fallon?” He inquired after she told him his total and he started pulling out his wallet. He had to bend down to set his backpack on the floor, then murmured an apology as he rummaged through work stuff to find his money. He had notebooks, plastic wrap, empty ink bottles and various other random items inside. ”Ah, here we go.” He whispered as he found the wallet and handed her cash for the drink, plus a generous tip that he slipped underneath.
He briefly thought maybe he was overdoing the niceties just a little, part of him subconsciously trying to prove to the girl he had only good intentions being in her shop this late. But for the most part, that was just how he was. Sure, some of how he was stemmed from years of trauma and a strong desire to please others. But he liked to think he turned out okay despite those little coping mechanisms. He shrugged his backpack onto his shoulder again and stuffed his hands in his pockets with some shyness.
