(And a Time Skip!)
(Island: Socotra)
Somewhere off the coast of Yemen in the Arabian Sea, deep within an island, a hooded figure move along in a clearing on the island. He was holding a large stick and dragging in the ground to create a magic circle. This circle was used for a ritual that could only be done on full moons. But when it was strongest was when there was a meteor shower, which there was tonight. In the circle was a crescent moon, creating another circle and a star in the middle with ancient lettering all between the star and moon. He then drew two straight lines through it and a small circle at the end of each one, each facing a different direction. In the one to the East was a bowl full of sand from Persia. To the west was a bowl with water from the Persian Gulf. To the South was a white maryam flower. And to the North were the long, black hairs of his victim. The face of the hooded man faced toward the setting sun, revealing a demon like mask. He waited. Waited for the sun to just start disappearing into the land. Then, it happened. He started to chant in Arabic and continued to do so until the sun had almost completely set. It was the last line that he spoke in English,"May the first star she see fall from the heavens bring upon this slow and painful death." At the last word he spoke, the sun had gone out of sight and the circle began to glow.
Persia put her book down on the bed as she glanced at her clock. 11:48 is what it said. 'Where has the time flown? It's almost two hours past my bedtime. But, I'm still not all that tired.' She thought. Persia climbed out of her bed and quietly opened one of the doors that led to her balcony. She walked over to the railing and looked up at the starry sky. Before she knew it, a flash of blue and white shot across the sky, though in her eyes it moved a lot slower. Then she saw another one, and another one, and they were faster then the first,"Wow. A meteor shower." She whispered to herself. Then, thinking of an idea, Persia quickly ran back into her room and then came out with a pillow and blanket. She put the pillow on the ground and then laid down with the blanket on top. She laid there watching the meteors fall from the sky, and soon her eyes were so heavy, Persia fell asleep on the balcony at exactly midnight.
The next morning:
6 weeks has past since the mission to take down Nicholas in the Antarctic tundra. Sonia smiled softly to herself as she walked along the sidewalk, back to the house. She had been off of the team during her time in recovery. She had been taking things easy and would only do what she could handle and what her body could handle, taking on a bit more every few days (not to say that she didn't try to push herself a couple times). She still had to be careful with her wound now and not over exhort it, but for the most part she was back to full motion. And after so long, she was ready to get back into training and seeing the rest of the team at the cave. Sonia smiled with a little giggle as she went up the path and into the house, wondering if the guys were up yet.
