Ayla held the flashlight with her right hand and crossed her fingers on her left hand, praying to whatever gods, goddesses, and other deities that the power would come back on and she would finally know safety and peace. "Please please please work/"

[Dragontw]

Nothing had really happened at first. Then overtime the lights had started to flicker on in the place they were in. "Seems like it just took a second to catch up and produce power. Seems like this place is good to go." He smiled being able to see way better than before. "This is one of the better days to have happen to for me in a long while I am not sure about you." He walked around and looked down the hallway they were in before. "Still need to figure out what's producing this power."

Ayla let out a happy noise as she turned off both the flashlight and the lantern. "It worked! Well at least in this room, we should set up a base camp here just in case the other lights in the hall are on, but bring tools, the flashlight, and any weapons, we have no idea what might be down here with us." After Ayla let her feel that moment of happiness, she returned to her practical nature.

Matthew nods and pulls out his wrench and some other tools just in case. Once he was ready he would go to the door and wait for her to be ready. Then he would head out once she was ready. It had seemed like most of the lights were back at least. "Seems like most of the power is back, makes me wonder why someone didn't turn it on. " He was quite confused.

After gathering her gun, knife, and flashlight Ayla followed Matthew to the door. She thought about his comment referring to how nobody turned the lights on. "Maybe we're the first people to find it?" She found that hard to believe, but she had the power to heal people with the simple touch of her hand. Stranger things had happened.

"Maybe we are. It's still quite weird if that is the case." He wasn't convinced but things have happened to him that he couldn't explain. Lights turning on and not dying to electricity at the power plant. "Well either way lets clear rooms to be safe. Then we can figure out what to do with this situation we got put in." This area was a rather safe and hidden place for a base though he was sure that she didn't trust him enough to want to share it.

Ayla nodded. "We should have a way to mark the doors to the rooms that we already checked so that we don't go looking in multiple rooms at a time."

[Dragontw]

Matthew looked around and thought about it. "Yea we could leave the doors open and leave maybe a scratch mark next to the door once we have checked it?" He went into a room on his left and started to check that out. Seemed like it was mostly a kitchen settup and he would check drawers and stuff to see pans and other kitchen items. He nodded and left the room and tried to scratch a mark with a screwdriver.

Ayla looked at the mark and then followed him down the hallway. "Are you a good cook? Because I am not." she asked him as she open the door on the right side of the hallway, this room was completely empty save for a metal bed frame in the corner.

"I guess I am an alright cook. Nothing too special." Maybe she was fine with him being here after all. He popped his head into the room she was in and didn't see much and went to the next room adjacent to that. That one also happened to be an empty bedroom. "I wasn't really a cook before all of this happened. I was an electrical engineer."
