☆ totemclan
baldstar; totemspeaker/leader; tom; 57m, tagged: pinefoot of seaclan
baldstar dipped his head knowingly; he may be generally naïve with social cues, but he knew better than to press for information about in-clan activities. "well i congratulate you," his tone was light, steering the conversation away from talking about anything that might stir tension. "has seaclan treated you well in your time there? do you have kits, perhaps?" baldstar inquired, drawing his tail closer as a cat padded a little too close for comfort.
sealfisher; ravencaller/deputy; tom; 47m; tagged: failnaughtfire of tundraclan
"i would love a large family," sealfisher admitted, kneading at the ground as he pictured his two daughters multiplied by a few. "i haven't found myself settled with a mate," he confided in the other tom. it was no secret, and he had no shame in not having found the perfect mate. he wasn't exactly looking; his duties as deputy and a father kept him on his toes enough, he could hardly spare a moment to sleep. "but perhaps someday."
wizard; healer; tom; 35m; tagged: swanflight of tundraclan
"oh, you're telling me!" wizard gave a full body shake as if to ward off the cold that was sure to sweep totemclan's territory again next leafbare. "i am lucky that my apprentice, batpaw over there - " he gestured to a small black smoke tom with large fangs; wizard noticed his discomfort with the apprentice that he was speaking to immediately, and made a mental note to ask him of it later. it wasn't often that anything ruffled batpaw's fur. "totemclan is well, mostly. lots of careless warriors so i have been busy, but overall we are well fed with a bustling nursery!" he purred at that, happy to have helped deliver so many healthy kits.
batpaw; healer's apprentice; tom; 7m; tagged: ursapaw of the outback runners
batpaw shrugged at this news. that didn't change his point, in his mind. "then you should understan' that keepin' a cat warm is a valuable skill," he spoke pointedly. "an' i think that any healer worth their weight would do anything they could t'a keep their clanmates comfort'ble in all weather. 's not my fault wizard's more equipped ta'do so." batpaw shrugged, ever loyal to the hairless tom who he'd looked up to since he was a mere kit. he listened to ursapaw's spiel about his superior mentor with little interest; batpaw's desire to befriend this tom had begun to wane as he had dealt with the immediate hostility. "maybe she is a better mentor. for you," he shrugged. "but wizard knows herbs an' potions. an' if he chooses to practice potioncraft even after trainin' with herbs, then i think tha'has some merit."
chiaseed; warrior; molly; 41m; tagged: nectarinesplash of the celestial beings
chiaseed listened to nectarinesplash's tale with great interest, hanging onto every word. "that is terrible," she murmured, shaking her head at what nectarinesplash's clanmates had been through. "oh, i'm sure my story isn't as interesting as being clan born," she dipped her eyes sheepishly with a shrug. "i was a kittypet. i... left my garden one day, chasing the lights that dance in the sky, have you seen them?" she turned her eyes to the stars as if she could conjure up the northern lights in that moment. "and then i heard... a gathering? a parade? it was a big party of cats, all celebrating and some dressed in bright colors - like wizard there - " she pointed out the clan's healer, the hairless tom wrapped in a blue striped cloak. "a found a group of friends, and after the parade ended, we just... walked. for a really long time. and then found totemclan." she shrugged once again. "not too exciting either," she repeated, as if shy about her tale.
scrapbeak; warrior; molly; 23m; tagged: pebblepaw of spruceclan
scrapbeak blinked once. twice. three times. just to make sure that she wasn't hallucinating this small molly scrunched up against her. she tried to force a scowl, to pin her ears and furrow her brow irritably, but... hmmph. she couldn't imagine ruining this poor basically-still-a-kit's first gathering. "well, good instincts are good to have," she nodded firmly, inwardly sighing at herself for relenting so quickly. "they'll either keep you out of trouble... or keep you from getting caught," she winked, giving a mischievous grin at the latter. "we'll see about friends, hasn't anyone ever told you be careful around strangers?" she chuffed, though even if pebblepaw had been told that, she'd clearly not taken it to heart. but scrapbeak was safe. for pebblepaw, at least. she couldn't vouch much for the safe return of any shiny objects or personal property. "prey? birds. any kind. what do i like to do best..?" her grin widened and she produced a shiny gold coin from tucked somewhere in her fur. "i borrow things. shiny stuff, mostly. pretty cool, huh." the gold coin glinted across her face in the light of the full moon overhead.
tinypaw; apprentice; demiboy (he/they); 8m; tagged: verglaspaw of evergreen park
tinypaw scrunched their nose at the talk of so many stinky dogs. he had never liked them, not once not never! tinypaw's eyes brightened at the mention of plenty of trees to scale. "totemclan has lots of trees, too! only a few different kinds though. most of them look the same, really tall and skinny," they explained. "totemclan is... cold!" they gave a mock shiver. "but i like the snow so i don't mind. i like my mentor, and all of my denmates are nice. there's a lot of kits in the nursery right now, so the den is going to be extra cozy soon," he grinned, the complaint mild, as he was greatly looking forward to the opportunity to hide more bugs in more cats' nests, which had earned them plenty of scowls from the other apprentices though tinypaw was otherwise so sweet that they forgave him swiftly.
paintpaw; apprentice; nonbinary (they/them); 7m; tagged: laurelpaw of caveclan
paintpaw listened with curiosity at laurelpaw's description of her fellow apprentices; though they had plenty of denmates back at totemclan, the thought that every clan could have so many apprentices, so many cats! so many possible friends! paintpaw could hardly wrap their mind around it. "fishing!" paintpaw gasped. "i haven't even touched a toe in the water! much less
catch a fish. that's so cool!" their enthusiasm was palpable as they wiggled their tail, swatting at is as if it were an aquatic creature. "you can paint anything you want! i paint other cats sometimes - i painted chiaseed once, she was so happy when i showed it too her, it was very hard to get the colors right for her eyes. and i've painted a mountain once! we have lots of those in totemclan." their eyes sparkled with excitement. "you can use your paws to smear it!" they drew a line in the dirt beneath their paws to indicate the motion. "and if you want the paints to come off, you can use a wet mossball. pretty cool, huh?" they were bouncing in place with delight.
