"I promise you, it'll live up to it! You'll just have to let that promise satisfy you until you get it. But if you're ready for bed I'll go figure out what room we're in and then we can head up for bed." Ina went back up to the bar, collected the rusted key to their room, and waved for Leon to follow her up to their room. She unlocked the door and took a glance around the small space and the two beds and then back at Leon. "Alright Leon, since you're my guest on this job I'll let you pick which bed you want! Heads up, they are just as uncomfortable as they look and I don't think one is better than the other, but you can test them both out if you want."

Grabbing his things Leon followed after Ina, sighing and bracing himself to walk up the stairs. By the time they got to their room and she offered to let him pick, he chose the closest bed to him and slung his bag at the foot of the bed and plopped down to take his boots off. "This will do just fine," he said dismissively. "Comfortable or not, I think I could sleep just about anywhere right now."

It was no exaggeration that the bed was uncomfortable, and he hated to think of all the people that had been in it before him. However, as soon as he was able to lay back he could feel his eyes drooping shut. Too tired to be bitter or reflect on much of anything, he quickly drifted off to sleep.

Ina followed Leon into the room and went to the bed at the other side of the room. By the time she had finished taking off all her armor, Leon was asleep. She laughed to herself at the site of him clocked out so soon after getting in bed. These next few days were going to be rough on him, no doubt. Ina considered paying for more comfortable beds tomorrow so that Leon wouldn't wake up with back pains two days in a row. The mattresses were so worn they might as well be nonexistent and that meant waking up extra sore in the morning. But, they were what Ina had paid for tonight, so Ina got into the bed and pulled the sheets up, ready for slumber to overtake her.

At some point Leon awoke, quietly groaning as he made an effort to sit up. Like everything else, the room was still dim. It was slightly disorienting to have no real concept of the time, but he supposed it really didn't matter. He also couldn't tell how long he had slept for. There was still a fair amount of noise from downstairs, and he couldn't tell if he was rested because all he could think about was how stiff his entire body was. Trying to stay quiet to not disturb Ina he stretched his legs over the side of the bed and stood up, then he began stretching out every muscle he could think of.

Many times in school they would have to warm up in such a fashion, because according to their teachers, a mage that couldn't move as fast as he could think was no good at all. Leon was never completely sold on that, but the stretching had stuck with him. One by one in a methodical way he began to loosen up. He figured his legs would remain sore. That he could live with. Sitting back down on the bed he waited for his travelling companion to rouse.

Ina woke up shortly after Leon sat back down. Laying in bed she stretched her arms above her head and stretched her legs out as far they would go before sitting up.

"Well good morning Leon! What do you say we go downstairs and eat some breakfast before we continue our journey? No use trying to travel far if we don't have good food in our stomachs. After we eat we can come back up, grab all of our stuff, and then head back out. Or if you'd rather grab all your stuff now and take it with you to breakfast, that's fine too. I know you've got that super secret parcel on you and all that. I just prefer to put my armor on after I've eaten breakfast, to make sure I've got enough room for the food in my stomach! But it's up to you my friend since this you first big underground trip."

It was hardly shocking to Leon that the dwarf even woke up in an annoyingly chipper fashion. Meanwhile, he was still trying to blink away the drowsiness that remained.

"I'd rather keep my bag with me, but you can do as you wish," he said, instinctively reaching for his satchel. If anything, he was more worried about his artifact getting stolen than anything else he had. A signet ring and his mage badge could be replaced, though they were costly. The artifact was irreplaceable, albeit limited in its capacity to do much of anything. Still, it was his and he was reluctant to let it out of his sight. If they were delayed it was no real trouble to him. He could always remain downstairs and be off his feet for a while longer.

"Do they have tea here?" he asked, hoping for a warm drink to prepare him for the cold.

"Uh. Tea. Yeah, they've probably got some tea. I just really wouldn't recommend drinking it. Us dwarves aren't really known for our tea, you know." As she talked Ina slipped her armor on and stuffed her bracers into her pack. She didn't want to have to leave Leon downstairs while she put her armor on. She figured she could just tighten the front laces after she eats- that should leave plenty of room for her food. Besides, it would save them a bit of time if they left immediately after eating instead of her usual morning meandering.

"Let's just go downstairs and see what all they've got. Maybe they've got some good tea, and we can discuss today's plan while we eat and you have your tea! How does that sound?"

The morning's only saving grace had been the thought of getting tea. Now Leon was dreading the walk even more and silently cursing his father. "I think I'll pass on the tea. Lets carry on then," he sighed.

Downstairs there were about the same amount of people going about business. He realized then just how little sound had made it upstairs. Figuring the structure was made for having business at all hours he couldn't help but be impressed by it. It only made sense, considering there was no real way to tell time. The faces were different, though. That was about the only indicator that time had even passed at all.

Finding their table from before occupied, Leon found a less secluded and open seat for them near the bar, sitting down with his bag in his lap to keep an eye on it. He had been robbed before, and now was not the time to deal with that problem.

Ina watched Leon pick a spot while she waited on Harbet to make his way down to her from the line of patrons at the bar. Most everybody was trying to get a quick meal to eat before taking off again. Some were still trying to wake up. When Harbet finished tending to the person next to her, Ina perked up.

"Harbet! Looks like another busy day for you, huh? Heard any juicy gossip this morning or last night? I need some conversation topics for the road. Oh, I'll also take two of your specialty breakfasts meals please." Harbet gave a shrug and wrote down Ina's order before responding to her, "Nothing good. Most people are just talking about the elf you brought with you. Sticks out like a sore thumb and people want to know why he's traveling with you of all people. Trouble seems to be attracted to you."

Ina deflated a bit at the lack of information. She was hoping for a rumor about this noble they were taking the package to, or even information on her companion since he was reluctant to reveal much or anything to her. She could still make good of these rumors when the job was over, though. It would make people eager to hear about the journey. "Thanks Harbet. I better get back over there to my traveling companion. I look forward to your breakfast!" With that, Ina went over to Leon and sat down.

Leon ignored the subtle looks he caught people stealing from over their shoulders or across the room. It didn't bother him. He typically garnered plenty of stares back at home too. He probably would have stared if he saw another elf down here as well, though, he didn't imagine many would enjoy or tolerate the tunnels either. Breakfast was without much incident, though Ina seemed a bit put off through her seemingly endless energy. Not bothering to question it, he ate, and upon finishing was reluctantly ready to head out again.

The tunnels were just as boring as they had been the day before. Before they had left, Leon had looked over his maps. Even though they were not marked with the dwarven tunnels, he still had a decent sense of the direction they were going in.

"So, if we left Perim yesterday, we could potentially make it to Caram today right?" he asked. The underground city was always sending complaints to both Dragon's Bounty and the mage school because both had a habit of causing surface destruction that had consequence on the cavern below. He recalled a fairly large crater near the school that was being filled when he arrived after a spell misfired and caused structural damage to the northeastern part of the city. If it was really that large, they would most likely reach the city before they would need to stop again.
