" Haha, it's quite alright. Events such as these do not happen often, so even us who have attended a fair few of them still get rather cheery at the prospect of attending another one. " politely, he allowed the two women to enter the store before following suit.
"Is this not your first ball then sir?"
Turning his head over his shoulder to look at them, a smile appeared on his face- followed by a light-hearted laugh. "I wish this ball was my first, from what I've heard they're planning quite the spectacle this time around. 'Long as they manage to meet expectations, for first timers this will be a moment that should live in their hearts forever. Plus the rumor has it almost all members of the founding families will be in attendance. If nothing else serves for proper entertainment, their interactions sure will!" an eager grin with just a hint of fangs exposed- mannerisms not unlike those of two friends sharing in a secret. There was no hint of malice or otherwise ill intent in his grin.
" You sound like you've much experience in these events." Vivian, careful not to take a stance on the founding families, politely and eagerly continued the conversation. Though her comment seemed to breifly ignite a spark of mischief in his eyes, though it quickly went out. " I suppose you could say that..." he'd began, only to stop in the middle of the store. " Alas, I fear our time to chat has come to an end. Though I am ever flattered to have had the opportunity to talk with two wonderful ladies such as yourselves. Take care to properly rest amidst all the excitement, alright? Perhaps are paths shall cross again at the ball." With a smile and a polite bow, Orion left to speak with the store's owner while the two ladies were free to browse the small shop's selection of gowns.
"You know..." Turning the tables and pulling on Aralynn's arm this time, Vivvian dragged Aralynn over to the first line of dresses, using her free hand to browse through them absentmindedly. Her voice came out in a whisper. " Based on his attire, I'm willing to bet he's either from one of the founding families, or he works in a rather high rank at the castle. " Letting loose Aralynn's arm from her grasp, she examined of the dresses with more intrigue then the others. This one a pale blue- though one in a pale shade of orange had also caught her attention. " But purebloods, especially the founding families...they usually aren't that nice to people like us. Stumbling into one like that could've been fatal, or at least have consequences...but I didn't even feel a threatening aura from him. Not to mention it'd be unlikely for one of them to have ventured this far from the city's central shopping district..." A little more examination of the ruffles and frills on the blue dress before she turned to the orange one. " So it's more likely that he's from the castle...they primarily employ halflings and the offspring of changelings at the castle, but most wouldn't have gotten to a high enough rank to afford that kind of attire... it makes one rather curious, doesn't it?" Hushed words spoken with uninhibited curiousity.
Meanwhile, up at the counter, Orion's conversation with the shopkeeper could be heard.
"Ahaha, yes, I know- they all always get so reclusive trying to figure out the perfect accessories and the like before the ball..... no, she doesn't, but I think she rather enjoys teasing all the bachelors...oh, yes Ma'am sorry- that must've slipped my mind! The ordered dress was put under the name Esme, I believe. Esmeralda if she happened to use her full name."
