The dark haired boy nodded to his sister, worried when she half shut the door. He made a small sound. He sucked in a breath when Lucas said it had been Icarus...He couldn't stop the girls from hearing this, if Lucas spoke loud enough. Which he probably had, unless whispering. Haruna had heard it, so the girls probably had too.

The reddish brown haired little one stood near Haruna. She continued to stay by her twin too, though. She had in fact heard, and moved forward. "Icarus is...is dead?" she asked, sounding shocked and in disbelief.

No no no no no- he was not about to embrace her with all of that- she was not nearly emotional enough right now to overlook that-

too late. And the feel of it, some stick a bit slick, sent chills down to her bones. Yet even colder was the news that followed. Icarus....he was...?

"He's...what? " She questioned, eyes wide, welling up a bit, though she said no more for a moment. "but he...he was..." none of it made sense to her. Why tragedy had to strike again. Why more blood had to be spilled, painting the world once again with scarlet. They should never have left the manor...then again, it didn't matter where she went- something happened. The highguard estate...the inn... even shortly after she had arrived here...

She didn't want to acknowledge this one...nor did she want her words to apathetic... so, turning her gaze downwards- "Everyone else...they're all fine at least, right? The staff... Estella and Rena...they're all fine yet, right? Nobody else was hurt?"

The embrace did not last long as he released the blonde.

"I know."

Lucas let his hands drop from her.

"I know. Adrian has left for the time being but plans on returning and bringing along some of his own staff for the proceedings, but right now what matters is everyone's well being. But I will not leave you alone until we are sure of the killer's location. You and Haruna both should come with me, we will take a head count of the staff to make sure nobody is missing."

"...Alright...let us do that then." her tone was solemn, and she held her hands clasped in front of her. " Hopefully whoever it was will be caught swiftly. Have you any idea whom it could be?" she would have brought up the extra two individuals who would have to likely accompany them as well, but...that was Haruna's gig, not hers.

The dark haired boy made a small sound, and stepped forward. "Hello Lucas," he said, not sure if he'd noticed them or not. He at least hadn't said anything about the girls. Therefore, Haruna didn't know if he'd noticed or not, and so didn't mention them yet.

The reddish brown haired little one pouted when no one answered her...She then looked to Haruna as he spoke. She moved back to him and Nina. Seeing as she didn't actually know Lucas yet, she really didn't trust him quite yet.

"I am pleased you mentioned that for I wished too speak with you on that matter. Ye-"

Lucas stopped seeing Ai peeking around Haruna and behind her was Nina. He watched them. Watched them as Nina took Ai's shoulder pulling her back more behind Haruna without taking her eyes off him. Knowing that this needed answers and could be a problem, but also knowing he had bigger things too concern himself with. The little girls would have too wait a little bit. In the meantime they were just more too protect and be responsible for.....though this stank of Rigel for some reason.

"Yes. Yes I do, or at least I have a theory as too the identity of the one responsible and tis all thanks to the very decree which Adrian claimed was all but useless. The one which he claimed only one more powerful, and stupider, then myself would be unaffected by. I do so enjoy disagreeing with him. As twas not a pointless thing to do if my assumption should prove truth."

" Bickering with Adrian may be all fun and dandy for you but, realistically, that doesn't sound completely like a good that..what he said, nor your disagreement. Because if that's the case- even I can only think of a handful of people it could of been- based on prior behavior towards you..." she briefly glanced at him before returning her gaze to the hall in front of her. "But if that's the case...are you sure you could do much about it?"

The dark haired boy made a small sound, shaking his head. Lucas had said he wanted them to go with him. However, he and Akira were just standing there talking. Haruna didn't speak up, didn't say anything. He just held his kitty, and glanced down at the two girls. He smiled reassuringly at them, then let out the smallest of sighs.

The reddish brown haired little one saw the dark haired vampire looking. She let Nina pull her back. She hadn't meant to be caught looking at the elder Renier brother. She now knew thats who it was, from Akira and Haruna speaking.

Al wore a mischievous before an eye opened. "Aw, do you mean my act wasn't convincing enough? I really was hoping that we could've stayed like a while longer- it was quite comfortable...but you're going to make me move now that we're awake, aren't you?" he ended with a grumble, before sneaking in a peck on her cheek.

"Alright lovebirds, care to tell me how you want your fish cooked so we can get on the..path, I guess? Not really any actual walkways or the like in the forest...but you can canoodle plenty more once we're back in actual civilization. "

Lucas started off down the hall so that they could count each member of the staff and make sure of their locations. Good thing this early in the morning not even the staff whom spent all their time working outside like the gardeners and stable hands would would be outside. Everyone would be somewhere inside the main house. It made their task much easier.

“The boy’s mother may have been the daughter of one of the Founding Families, yes, but she was of the lowest house. The last house the Progenitor created. On top of that he was a Halfling facing a Pureblood, as well as he was unable to use his ability even if his murderer had not damaged his wings. You can not fly in a library. This time the vampire will be facing a fellow Pureblood who is, not only Head of both the kingdom’s military forces and one of the Founders, but one of the top five who will render their unique ability useless as Icarus’s was against them no matter how powerful or what sort of ability they may have.”
