*James POV *
Thankfully, the General was too busy yelling his head off to notice James walk away with one of the dragons. "Alright, tell me, how do you plan to save all those dragons?" The fluffy dragon asked. James scratched the back of his head and sighed. "If I'm being honest, I don't really have much of a plan at all. I've found a couple guys here and there who want to help or just really hate this assignment, but they're all to afraid of loosing their ranks or whatever the government would do to us if we rebelled. I can preach ethics or shame them for not helping, but it does nothing more than make them feel sorrier for doing nothing."
*Maya's POV *
Maya and Crys were flying around the high sea cliffs of her dream state. The sky was always painted with a ritchly colored sunset, and the sea was wild as it crashed up against the rocks, splashing the two of them as they flew. They were waiting for Crys's friends to fall asleep so that Maya could meet them. They both dove towards the roaring waves, chasing each other to see who could get there first. Suddenly, Crys bailed and circled the water waiting for Maya to come back up. "They're here!" He shouted to her when she surfaced. Maya excitedly climbed up the closest rock and took off as quickly as she could. They both flew up the side of the cliffs, landing once they cleared the top. In front of them on the lush green grass were three females, two much older dragons and one dragonet. "Maya, this is Lunatrix, Geodys, and little Peblyb," Crys said, motioning to each dragon as he said their name. "Ladies, this is Maya."
Maya smiled, nodding her head in greeting. "Pleased to finally meet you all, even if it's because I got captured," Maya said. The dragon named Geodys stepped forward and took Maya's talons in hers, saying, "you have nothing to be sorry for. You may be imprisoned here like the rest of us, but because of you the eight kingdoms finally know we're here. Because of you my granddaughter will be able to see the sun again." Geodys twined her tail around the young dragonet, giving her a loving look that the girl returned with a smile. Maya noticed that Peblyb had the same gold-orange coloring and sky blue eyes as her grandmother.
"I'm glad I could help," Maya replied. "And I still have some friends on the outside, so we might be freed sooner than you think."
"Do you really think so?" Lunatrix asked. She seemed slightly younger than Geodys, with stormy blue-grey coloring and sharp eyes that were such a deep grey that they almost looked black.
"I know so," Maya replied, giving her a reassuring look. "Even if something happens and they can't help, I swore an oath to Crys, and I'll swear it again before you now, the forces of chaos will claim me before I cease doing everything I can to set every last dragon free."
