the last thing este expected was to hear the voice of nick fury again. it was a few years back when the
girl accidentally crash-landed into earth during a fight with a couple of titans. she can remember the
events quite well: she got her ass kicked. looking back on it, it's a miracle that fury would want to inc
lude her in one of his missions as she thought highly of the one-eyed man. with his help, she was ab
le to regain her to health and defeat those titans. as thanks to fury, she left him with a gadget she cr
eated that would put him into contact with her if an emergency ever occurred. never did este think th
at fury would actually contact her though.

the coordinates that fury left her were located in a city called nowhere. she was unfamiliar with the pl
anet as she had never been there herself. it was located on the other side of the galaxy and her best
way of getting there is through the gadgets she had on hand. with a tap of her finger to the corner of
her jawline, a mask went over her face. the mask itself was made of vibranium and had pink glowing
eyesockets. she tapped the bottom of both of her heels which activated rockets that were controlled
with her feet. the girl lifted herself up into the air and began the journey to nowhere.

her feet met the ground of nowhere and este deactivated her mask and the jets at the bottom of her
boots. nowhere was exactly how este thought it would be: full of scavengers and pocket pickers. she
cleaned out the pockets of her pants and placed her items in her jacket to prevent somebody stealin
g off her. if somebody tried, it would be a bad day for them. her gadget began to beep alerting her t
hat she was getting close to the coordinates. the farther and farther she got in nowhere, the shadier
it became. luckily, este wasn't much farther from the location. the beeping grew louder and louder a
nd eventually began to flash colors. she looked up from her gadget to come face to face with a space
ship. este placed the gadget back in her jacket pocket and knocked on the porthole. she took a coup
le of steps back and crossed her arms as she waited for somebody to answer.

the loud sounds of whimpering could be heard without the help of the tracker. eunsae creeped around the corner of a trash pile. her grin grew when she spotted a hurt outlaw, a aakon to be precise. they were yellow-skinned and hairless, which would make they stand out on the planet of sakaar. the grandmaster had reported an escaped prisoner, and offered a big bounty for it. thankfully, eunsae was passing by the planet. there was a lot of competition on this planet, and since there were also plenty of different species, her bounty could be eaten. the aakon glanced up at her shaking in fear, but eunsae only smiled at the other. "listen, i'm trying to spare you for this horrific planet. you've been here a while, right?" eunsae questioned the aakon as she kneeled next to them. she gripped their wrist tightly, ensuring them that it's best to follow her. the aakon nodded quickly, trying to pull their wrist away from the bounty hunter.

unfortunately, now wasn't the best time to try and become friends with her bounty. two ships landed close to them. eunsae could only predict that their were here for the aakon, to either eat ir or claim the bounty. "okay. here's the plan: you come with me, give the grandmaster an exchange of money for you, and return you back to your planet, sounds good?" eunsae didn't let the other speak before she placed cuffs on them. the cuffed electrocuted its victims if they resisted. the hunter dragged the outlaw back to her space ship, ss paradox. it was an average ship, that could fit up to eight people. however, eunsae failed to know that many people and lived alone.

sneaking back on her ship, she pushed the aakon into the cell under the main floor. "be good, and i'll get you back safely," the woman exclaimed, rushing back to her seat and prepared for liftoff. they successful returned to vast open of space. eunsae used her transmitter to communicate with the grandmaster. her thought it was a ridiculous suggestion, but she knew, like his brother, that he couldn't resist units. so, she offered 500,000 units for the aakon in return for their freedom. the thing was, the grandmaster didn't know that this aakon was apart of a trio, who caused damage on xandar and was wanted for joining the ranks of the ravagers. eunsae would receive a beautiful bounty of 750,000 units and 632,000 units for bringing him in before anyone else. this amount could last her for over five month, if she kept her ship from damage.

returning to xandar to receive, eunsae waved at the aakon and gathered her prize. did she intend to work with the government on this one, no? but, she really needed that money. the woman stepped back onto her ship and was ready to return home to nowhere. her head turns towards the control panel, where a loud beep echoed throughout her quiet cockpit. she sighed and pressed the button to answer the call. next thing she knew, she was greeted by the face of nick fury. eunsae shook her head quickly, "no, no, no. not now, fury. i just completed a mission. i need rest, please." if her begging and pleading didn't work, she would have to hang up on fury. anyone knows not to hang up on the man. even though she was a alien, that man had tricks up his sleeve and she didn't want to get caught up in them.

eunsae was informed by the one-eyed agent that she had to complete a mission for a kree, and that she would be assigned help. help wasn't something eunsae wanted or needed, but there was no budging the stubborn nick fury. arriving safely at her designated spot on nowhere, she departed her ship for a while and went to fetch some supplies before everything closed. the market was getting quieter, but she still kept her guard high. even though she was raised on the planet, she didn't trust anyone. if she did, she would probably be broke and her ship taken.

her brown eyes spotted a figure by her ship and she gripped her blaster on her wasit. eunsae tugged her goods close to her, and stepped closer to the person. "what are you doing by my ship?" she asked in a soft yell, a couple of feet behind the person. this couldn't be the "help" fury referred to, right? she didn't expect them to arrive so quickly; she barely got to rest.

as este was waiting, she couldn't help but to look around the ship she was sent to. it's condition wasn't too
terrible so she could tell that whoever owned it was good at what they do. the idea of working with someon
e who knew what they were doing made este feel grateful. the girl wasn't the best fighter or the best at any
thing, really. the best este could do was to cause a distraction with that talkative mouth of hers.

it didn't take long after her knock for the porthole of the spaceship to drop open. as it opened, a figure em
erged from the ship. este noticed their hand on their waist, it's hand placed right on top of a blaster. este r
esponded by reaching for one of her duel swords that dangled on her back. her hand rested around the sh
aft of her sword and gripped it tightly. as the figure approached her, este decided to take a few steps back
and to keep her distance from the figure. the closer and closer it got, este made it out to be another female
like herself - not what she expected. she felt greater for being taller than the girl, but she didn't expect any
thing less from her. the voice of the girl sounded tired and annoyed. "fury sent me." este made her voice s
ound as intense as the girl's who stood in front of her. "i'm este, sorry to wake you."

the brunette decided to let go of the grip she had on her sword and brought her hand back down to her sid
e. it rested on one of the belt loops on her pants. she eyed the girl who stood before her and she hoped tha
t she wouldn't turn out to be a pain to be around. este knew that she'd have the ability to loosen her up if s
he had to, but she has never worked with another girl for a mission before, let alone be assigned an importa
nt mission. her brown eyes made her way back to the ship. "that yours? it's nice." she said, attempting to
make conversation. it probably wasn't the right thing to say as she woke the poor girl up.

her eyes shifted to the girl's sword. nice choice for a weapon, but eunsae didn't admit it. she wasn't much of a sword person; it took much movement for her and her blaster was just the right size. the hunter watched and waited till the other withdrew their weapon. first rule: never withdraw your weapon. no matter if they are a "ally." she learned the hard away by fighting a group of ravagers. she had dropped her weapon, and she was shot at in the abdomen. the pain was tough, but she pulled through. eunsae returned her blaster to its hoister yet continued to grip on handle. the girl claimed to be sent from fury, much like she expected. that man did not waist time; she should've known that. "este...," she mumbled under her breath.

este had complimented her ship, and that cause eunsae to run her head to look. that ship was her prized possession, and valued it greatly. but, she saw better ones from more experienced hunter- or just ones who had more money and status. "thank you. it's not the best, but at least it runs," eunsae commented back to este. she tugged on the outside of her jacket closer to her. the girl sighed when she realized she forgot to introduce herself. "i'm captain erni, that's the only name you are allowed it call me." eunsae said in a stern tone; she definitely wasn't going to tell some stranger her real name, not that it meant anything, but she didn't trust the girl. even if fury did recomend her. "that means no nicknames, please. i'm assuming fury picked a disciplined help. he isn't the one to select slackers as allies, especially from space," eunsae gripped the girl shoulder with slight tension. she gave her a sweet smile before grabbing her bag. she turned back around and started walking away from the ship. "i'm not the one to let random people onto my ship. let's talk and walk; i happened to forget something before we take off," she called to the girl, leaving she behind as quick as she could.

as walked, she received a message from fury, regarding more information on the kree assignment for them. eunsae scoffed at the outlaw. this person seriousy couldn't be someone that need two people to catch them, right? besides, the kree weren't loose on letting criminals get away so easy.

eunsae shook her head, thinking ,"the kree must really want him back for such a price." she sighed as she stuffed her arms into her pocket. there was a small stall open that was selling food; she could use a bite before going to catch this kree. "let's go here. we need our fuel."

este turned her head alongside the girl as they both looked at the spaceship. it was very beautiful and
este would kill to own something like that. sadly, she couldn't ever come up with the units to afford s
omething like that. it would definitely make traveling a lot easier, let alone all the money she would a
ve. the trips to the fuel stations got old very fast the moment este created her jet boots. they work gre
at, but the units to afford them were out of hand. thankfully, she now had the advantage of traveling
with a spaceship. thank you fury for allowing her to save units.

the girl called herself erni and favored the name greatly. este could tell from the tone of her voice. she
understood the whole 'no nickname' thing as ernestine wasn't her favorite name to be called. she nod
ded at erni's request and felt her hand touch her shoulder. este wasn't the biggest fan of physical touc
h, especially to those who she just met, but she allowed it. the girl seemed sweet, and este appreciate
d that. the last thing she'd want is to deal with somebody who's super unfriendly. her feet followed ern
i as she took off towards the stalls. "right behind you, i'm starving." este said.

her gadget beeped with a new message from fury and noticed that erni also received an alert. the only
part of the message that shocked este was the bounty: 300,000. it was the biggest she's seen and the
largest she's ever attempted to receive. she never went for the larger bounties due to her inexperience.
the larger named bounty hunters always got to them before she could anyways, totally not fair. she put
the gadget back in her jacket pocket and began to walk beside erni instead of behind her. the scent of
hot pretzels came towards her.

the reached the stall and este stood off to the side eyeing their options. "let me get a pretzel with ch
eese." she said and then looked towards erni. "you want anything? i'm paying." the brunette offered,
her brown eyes looked at the girl. there's no way she wasn't hungry after seeing and smelling everythi
ng they had to offer. este pulled out one of her gadgets and transferred units to the vendor and reach
ed out to grab her pretzel. the taste was definitely going to be worth it's overpriced amount.

"i'll just have... a corndog?" eunsae pointed to the owner, and was happy to receive her food. she didn't eat food like this very often because she travelled a lot. the girl turned towards este, and thanked her for the food. she then went to find a seating area for them. eunsae enjoyed the calmness of the market since there were half of the normal customers here. it's better to come when nobody is around since stealing was big here. erni took a bite out of her corndog, and giggled at the taste. "i miss food like this. when we're traveling, we have to make our own food. it saves time than stopping for food." she commented to her new partner about her living habits. eunsae enjoyed to cook; it felt like home, so she always cooked something up, even if it was a snack. thankfully she stocked up on food in xandar with some of her money; who knows how long she would have been away from nowhere. especially with fury assigning her a apprentice like some study program. eunsae looked at este with a sigh, "why exactly did fury send you to me? he knows i've been on mission worse than this." she mumbled with a pout; her quiet home was about to be filled by another person. she needed to know exactly did fury send her here. "do you do anything special?" she tilted her head, and continued on eating her corndog. "oh, are you xandarian? inhuman? skrull?" she questioned the girl on what she could be. she never even heard of the name "este' until just now. really, she hasn't heard of anyone else in the galaxy. it was tough competition and very dangerous in the infinite galaxies.

the captain finished her snack and crossed her arms. "well, whatever you are, you must be impressive that fury trusts you." she could say the same for herself. she had stopped on earth for a mission, and didn't expect to be surround by agents upon landing. eunsae originally denied help from the one-eyed man, but needed assistance later on in the mission. after he insured her that her had contact with a half-kree, she thought he had been lying. fortunately for her, eunsae was gifted the story of losing his eye to a flerken, and immediately laughed. she knew the creatures were cute but never trust the thing. everyone didn't bother trying to get into a fight with the cute feline creatures. the girl thought she should give este the intel on the ship. "you'll be given a room, since the ship is suppose to be for eight people. in order to reduce time, you might have to cook. i'm assuming you know how to cook, right?"

"hopefully, you know how to drive a ship?... if not, auto-pilot is acceptable, i guess," eunsae pursed her lips together and nodded to herself, thinking if there was anything else she needed to remind the girl of. "just, uh, if you got any questions, ask them and don't act recklessly." she returned her eyes to the mission at hand, this guy was worth 300, 000 units. she would have to split it up by half, since she now had help. eunsae guessed she could give up half because she just was paid greatly. if it was during any dire situations, like low payment, the captain would've denied fury of his request.

she gave the girl a slight smile and followed her to a seating area. este has never been to nowhere, but th
ere was something about the planet that felt warm. it was very comforting, something este hasn't felt in a
long time. her eyes went back and forth from erni to the pretzel in front of her. the warmth she felt in her
hands alone was indescribable, it's taste was a whole other story. este smiled once more when listening to
erni's giggle. "it's nice, definitely." she commented, her attention now on erni. "i'm not the best cook, b
ut i know enough to not burn anything." the girl smiled and took another bite of her pretzel. something
about erni's voice was calming to este. she felt calm in the moment and decided to take in the peace. it w
ould more than likely be the last quiet moment the two would have before they begin their mission.

este listened to erni, especially the part where she mentioned their current mission not being her worst. it
differed for her, this being one of the first assignments she's been tasked to do. the last thing este wanted
to do was to cause panic to erni. the difference between the two was that erni seemed to know exactly wh
at to do and how to complete missions. one of the hopes este had in the very beginning was to learn from
her new partner. luckily, the girl she was assigned with seemed to be exactly that and more. "an apprenti
ceship, actually," she began, "this is one of the first missions i've been on. i stay to smaller bounties."
este decided to be honest with her partner and hoped for her not to be disappointed in fury's choice. he d
efinitely could've chosen worse though. "i'm eternal. you?" the short answer. the brunette never opened
up to anyone before, and she decided to keep it that way for now.

she finished her pretzel and took a short walk to a trash can to throw the cheese cup away. her head looke
d left and right and realized that the two were alone. it didn't feel right for a moment, but she shook it off
and sat back down. a room to herself sounded great, but it also sounded a little lonely. she knew she prob
ably wouldn't spend much time in there which eased her a bit. "it's been awhile since i've driven, so i'm
a little rusty. she'll be under good hands." este assured her. "i'm used to flying with my boots, so trav
elling by ship will be nice." she added. "it's more of a hobby, really. i'm very tech-savvy." it's true. wh
en este gets bored, she finds herself putting together a new gadget. the partnership was something she w
as something she wanted to mess around with too - gadget wise, that is. she'd come up with new ideas ev
ery now and then but never had anyone to share them with. "should we get going?" she noticed the two h
ad been seated for a while. the sooner, the better.
