Ezra
Capital Tribute // Mood: Confident - boisterous
Ezra kept his arms crossed as he stood there in line with the other males of his age group. He looked around at the varying reactions towards the thought of the reaping. He smirked and shook his head with a soft chuckle. This was the first year that the capital had tributes heading into the arena, anyone should be honored to be the first. Then they could be the ones to show off how better those from the capital are, a true fact indeed. The finger prick wasn't painful at all, and watching others squirm at the feeling or sight of the blood sickened Ezra, he rolled his eyes and went to stand in his spot, arms crossed.
The area where all the tributes waited for the names to be chosen looked just like the places in the commoner districts but the decorations were much nicer. It was a sickening fact that some parents even held little signs, encouraging their kid's names to be chosen. It was seen as an honor, a privilege, to be chosen. Ezra watched as the mentor for the capital stood on the stage, between the two bowls full of names. Ezra bounced on his heels a bit as he waited, almost impatiently.
"Ladies first..." The mentor spoke, proud of his role. He let his hand into the bowl and mix the names around. He picked a single piece of paper, waving it to the crowd before heading over to the mic. "and your female tribute is..." He spoke, pausing to read the name. "Annabelle Jones..." Ezra turned his head just in time to watch as a girl shrieked and fell to the ground, pushing away from the peacekeepers that came for her. He watched her have to be escorted up to the stage, she seemed older, much too old to be acting the way she did. Ezra rolled his eyes and looked back towards the stage.
The female tribute stood beside the mentor as he now began to select the male tribute. His hand reached into the bowl and mixed the names around. He picked a single piece of paper out of the bowl, waving it to the crowd, before heading to the mic once more. "And your male tribute is..." He spoke, pausing to read the name. "Joseph Alexanders..." He spoke. Ezra huffed in disappointment as he watched the man beside him freak out. He rolled his eyes and smirked, raising his hand. "I volunteer as a tribute..." He spoke, hearing the gasps sound around him.
The mentor rose an eyebrow and gestured for Ezra to approach. "And your name, son?" He spoke. "I'm Ezra Dephre..." Ezra introduced with a grin. "And why did you volunteer today, did you know Joseph?" The mentor asked. Ezra shook his head. "No, sir. I had no clue who that guy was but with a female tribute like Annabelle, you are going to need a winner for these games from the capital, and I will be that winner!" Ezra announced, voice booming in the mic.
Ezra stood to the left of the mentor and the female stood to the right of the mentor, the mentor raising their hands up together. "I present to you the tributes from the capital Annabelle Jones and Ezra Dephre!" He called. Ezra smirked right into the cameras. He had a good feeling about this.
