xxxrey laughed. "i could definitely use a month's worth of sleep," she said, slipping on her boots. she looked over and saw that ben was getting ready too. she quickly made up the small cot they were sleeping on by pulling up the covers and smoothing them out. she shook her head. "i don't know but i'm guessing that poe will probably tell us what we should do," she said to him. "thanks for laying with me, by the way. i can be hard for me to sleep with the nightmares that i've been having," she said with a sigh. she felt horrible for making him sleep with her on the tiny bed but she had finally gotten some good sleep.

‣ ʙᴇɴ ꜱᴏʟᴏ / ᴋʏʟᴏ ʀᴇɴ

Ben nodded slowly, listening to her words and watching the young jedi as she got ready, "Alright." He nodded, taking her answer as it made sense with him taking his mother's previous position. He blinked as his attention returned to the girl as she mentioned the situation they had been earlier that morning. He smiled softly and shook his head, "It's not a problem.. It was nice. I, too, get nightmares." He said softly, watching Rey's expressions as he spoke. He was rather willing to just do it again, this time at the start of the night, and see if they can sleep the entire time.

xxxrey smiled. "i liked it too, it's just that the cots are a little small," she said with a laugh. "it's hard not to have nightmares with everything we've been through," she said with a sigh, turning to him. she took his hand and led him from the room now that they were ready. when they made it to the main gathering area, everyone seemed to be waiting around. soon poe walked into the room. she wondered what he was going to say, what he was going to tell them to do.

Ben gave a slight smile to the girl, finding himself rather grateful to hear her laugh. He then nodded in agreement, "It is." He said in complete understanding. He blinked as she took his hand and moved to follow the girl out and into the gathering area. His gaze flickered around at everyone in a semi-anxious manner. He still felt vulnerable being around all the resistance members. He pressed himself to remember Rey was with him.. and as long as he had her beside him, he was safe. He glanced towards the girl before following her gaze towards Poe.

xxxpoe cleared his through as he stood in front of all of the resistance. "yesterday, we thought we were going to suffer a great defeat. yesterday, we had a victory but one where many lives were lost," he started. "so today, i want us to honor the lives of everyone we lost in all of our battles against the first order by taking a day to rest," he told everyone. rey looked over at ben and smiled. "it looks like we don't have to work today after all," she said with a smile. "so, what do you think we should do? maybe we could go back to the jungle and hope to not run into any pilots this time."

Ben remained silent as he listened to Poe's words. The mention of the First Order caused Ben to lower his gaze to avoid any stares that flickered in his direction. He knew it wouldn't be easy.. he knew he wasn't to expect any forgiveness other than Rey, but still. It still effected him. He blinked when the girl turned to him and spoke, listening to her offer with a slight smile. "That sounds like a good idea." He said in agreement. He rather enjoyed it being just the two of them and away from all the prying eyes that had recognized him as Kylo Ren.

xxxrey could see ben was sent into deep thought by poe's words. she wondered how long it would take for everyone else in the resistance to warm up to him and to the thought that she and ben were no longer enemies, they were friends. and, in reality, they were quickly becoming more than friends. she smiled as she took his hand and lead him out of the base. their were some people still working on broken ships and others were just sitting around. some looked lost and glared at them as they walked by. rey could feel all of the eyes piercing her skin and she tried to ignore it. eventually, they found their way inside of the thick jungle once again. "you can pick which way we got this time," she said to him. "i didn't work out so well when i did."

Ben glanced around the space before he was led out by Rey, he had made the mistake in reading the emotions around him as he followed the girl into the woods. He felt the anger and hatred towards him from those they passed and glared at them--well, mainly him. He seemed to relax as they got further away from the base. He took a breath to calm his nerves before blinking and looked towards Rey as she spoke. He smiled lightly. "Alright." He nodded and tightened his grip lightly on her hand before dragging her down a different path than where they headed before. He glanced towards her as they walked. "I... I don't believe I am welcomed here." He said softly out of almost nowhere. "I mean, I do feel like I am with you. I know I belong by your side. But everyone else here still just see Kylo Ren." He mumbled. At least those who knew his face.

xxxrey was still uncomfortable with the looks that were getting shot towards her. she knew most of them were directed at ben but some of them were also directed at her. they were ashamed of her. they hated that she was so close to this man who had been her enemy for so long. they didn't understand them at all. of course they didn't. they hadn't been there when ben brought her back to life and when he risked his life to save her from her grandfather. they had seen all of the time that had lead his fleets to attack the resistance and the times that his stormtroopers had murdered their family members. rey laughed and was surprised when ben took of towards a different path. "hey! i'm the one that pulls you around, remember?" she asked playfully, a little out of breath from keeping up with him when he slowed his pace down. she looked at him, a serious look now clouding her face. "well, i don't want you to be stuck somewhere were you aren't welcome," she told him truthfully. "i want us to stay by each other's side. this is the first time in my life that i've truly felt comfortable," she confessed to him. suddenly an idea struck rey. "what if we left? the fight against the first and final orders is over. the resistance doesn't need me to fight for them anymore and we could go anywhere. we could go somewhere were they won't even know who you are. somewhere where they won't judge us."

"Thank you, Rey. I'm glad to hear it." Ben's walking slowed to a complete stop as he listened to the rest of Rey's words, an almost guilty expression was on his face as he looked to the girl. He really liked the idea, but wondered if Rey was truly willing to leave the company of her friends behind. She had chosen them over him before after all. His dark brown eyes studied her as he took in her words, frowning slightly in thought. After a few beats, a slight smile tugged at the corner of one of his lips. "I'd like that," He replied truthfully. "Is there a planet in mind that you'd like to see?" He asked her, keeping his gaze on the woman before him.
