Abilities: As a Necromancer, Luci has the ability to use body and soul magic. He can use corpses to do his bidding as well as reviving corpses. Most times, however, when he revives a corpse a price must be paid. Whether that be a life force, cash, etc. As long as the payment matches what he needs to do, all is good in the world. With the use of his spell-book, he does also dabble is many other black magics but his ability in the government standards is a necromancer.

Personality: Luci is a quiet man. He doesn't socialize much with others and prefers to keep more to himself than to spend time with other people. He carries a spellbook with him and is always wishing to learn more about everything and anything. His spellbook is his prized possession and will not let it out of his sight. He is a naturally curious man and is often described as being cat-like in nature. Because of his abilities to be a necromancer he works as a mortician as he is the best man suited for the job of working with dead bodies. He knows everything and anything there is to an autopsy. He can indicate possible causes of death, time of death, and even whereabouts of death. He has an eye for details and sees every detail as important, no matter how minor it may be. Luci enjoys his job. He finds it fascinating and interesting.

Appearance: Evan is short, with skin that is tanned and covered with freckles from so many years spent outside in the sun. He has a mess of curly, golden brown hair, and deep brown eyes. There is a small scar on his left cheek from an old childhood injury.

Abilities: Healer. Evan can manipulate the energy of living things, mostly to heal them, and can also use this power for things such as promoting growth in plants. His healing powers can only heal certain injuries, and the worse the injury the more energy it takes for him to heal, meaning he can only deal with serious injuries when he’s fully rested and hasn’t used his magic in a while. As his powers surround life, he cannot save those who are already dead as death is not something he can manipulate.
Personality: Evan is a bit of a loner, preferring the company of his plants and animals over the company of other humans. He keeps himself to himself, but also has a bubbly, excitable and almost childish nature to him that comes out when he’s with people he feels comfortable around. He is also incredibly gentle, kind and caring, with a soft spot for those who are weak, injured or unfortunate in any other way.

Backstory/Other: Evan comes from a family of farmers, and was brought up in the countryside, which greatly helped him to develop his powers when he was younger. Now he has moved away from home and works multiple part-time and even volunteer jobs at local hospitals, animal shelters and farms to help out wherever he can/ In his free time he likes to write, and occasionally makes money here and there working for local newspapers and publishers. Due to his nature of working odd jobs wherever he can, he has been known to move around quite a lot, and is only now really attempting to settle down and live in one place for a while.

Evan walked slowly through the crowded streets of the city, people hurrying to and fro all around him. He shuddered despite himself. The busy, crowded atmosphere of the city was something he still wasn't quite used to. After all, he'd only been living there a few short months. He often found himself looking wistfully back on his days spent living in the countryside, where things where simpler, and certainly quieter.
He was tired after a long day of working, all his energy drained from extensive use of his magic, and he was more than ready to go back to the peace and quiet of his small apartment and crawl straight into bed. Maybe he'd even find himself dreaming of his soulmate that night. He'd never really dwelled on the idea of his soulmate too much, not spending his whole life thinking about them like others did, but the idea that they were out there somewhere was one that made him feel a little hopeful that one day his life might be different.
Despite his tiredness, he found himself admiring certain parts of the city as he walked, from the colourful stores that lined the streets to the crowds of people, each unique in their own way. Though city life scared him sometimes, he had to admit it was much more interesting there than it had been out in the countryside. And surely, if he was to find his soulmate one day, then a busy city like this was definitely a good place to be.

Luci awoke to an empty bed. It seemed like the partner which the government chose for him still didn't seem to like his company. He didn't mind. Having the bed all to himself was not a punishment, it was a perk. However, it was lonely and he sometimes wished he had someone to cuddle with her. He sighed and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. His "wife" was probably out at work already. She worked in the prison system as an executioner, matching her abilities to be lured towards death and able to cause it effectively and efficiently. He slipped out of bed and made himself a coffee, staring out the large blank window of his apartment with a sad sigh.

Soon Luci slipped on his coat and ventured out to the world, his spellbook tight to his chest as he walked. He brought it everywhere just in case he needed it but also that it would not fall into the wrong hands. It wasn't that he didn't trust his life partner, it was just that he absolutely did not trust her. He sighed as he got himself caught in his thoughts about the future. Luci never ever even wanted kids so assigning him a female life partner would not aid in their quest for repopulation. As well, his life partner so desperately wanted offspring but he could not provide that for her. He just had to keep lying to the government and telling them that they had tried but not succeeded. His life partner didn't say anything different for fear of being labeled infertile. She knew better.

Evan had no work that day, and so with nothing to do he woke up a little later than usual. While making breakfast he watered each and every plant in his apartment. They filled his bedroom and lined every windowsill in the place, and he made sure each one was thriving every morning, given them a little help with his powers if they needed it. He took the morning to just relax, but then he eventually decided that he may as well leave the house around lunchtime, despite having nothing to do. And so he headed out to the local coffee shop where he often spent some time when he needed somewhere to just chill out for a while. It was a little busier in there than usual, but still as calm as usual, and he found himself a table and sat down with his small sketchbook and some pencils once he'd ordered a coffee.

For the next hour or so he sat and sketched slowly in his book, detailed drawings and sketches of plants and a few animals, some of them labelled with certain things such as the medicinal uses of different parts of some plants. It was easy to just get lost in his own thought for a while as he sipped at coffee and sketched and he found himself enjoying his workless, relaxing day far more than he'd expected to. It was days like this that he didn't even mind that he was completely alone most of the time. After all, usually he was his best company.

Luci was quiet as he wandered the streets with his spellbook close to his chest. As he watched he noticed the many different people wandering about with mild curiosity. They all had abilities, their own assigned partners and their own lives. He often wondered if others were stuck in the same position as him with being attracted to the same gender and on the hunt for their soul-mate. Some people got lucky and assigned to their soul-mates right away as long as they were the opposite gender. Those people were blessed. He sighed to himself as he wandered into a nearby coffee shop. He got himself a nice steeped tea and sat in the corner of the shop by a window all by himself. He placed his spellbook in front of him and sipped his tea as he read through spells, fixing them up and adjusting them as he needed to. He was focused.

Evan heard the sound of the door swinging open, letting in the sounds form the streets outside as well as a rush of colder air for a few brief moments before it slammed shut again, and he looked up curiously, pulled from his thoughts by the noise. He watched as a man walked in and briefly had time to acknowledge that the man was fairly attractive and looked about as bored with life as most people did these days, before the man was ordering something from the counter and Evan forced himself to look back down at his sketchbook. He twirled a pencil around his finger a few times, before tapping it against the edge of the table in thought. On his page was a sketch of a flower, blooming out from the bottom corner of the paper, petals unfurling upwards. He hummed softly to himself as he sketched a few patterns into the petals and smiled softly, nodding to himself as he thought about the colours he'd be able to add to it later once he got home.

He slowly put the pencil back down after a few more moments of sketching, and looked up for a second as he stretched out his shoulders, only to catch sight of the man again. Now he was sat at a table, sipping at some sort of drink whilst flicking through a drink. He leaned his head to one side curiously as he watched him for a few seconds, not wanting to stare but too intrigued by the stranger. There was just something about him that intrigued Evan, something he couldn't quite put a name to.

Luci looked over as he felt eyes upon him. His eyes were curious as they swept all over the coffee shop. However, he was unable to locate whom had been watching him. He gave a soft sigh and sipped his tea. He turned his gaze back to his spellbook that laid before him. Magic was common in this town and world so he didn't feel shy about the little sparks of magic that came from his finger tips as he read and altered the various spells in the book. The spells mainly revolved around his work with necromancy but he had a few other spells in the book that he used on occasion for other tasks. He gave another side, bored, but not wishing to leave the shop as he would be forced to face the cruel realities of the world and of his mundane life. He just desired to find his soul-mate and run away, live a life of happiness. He huffed.

Evan glanced down instantly as the other man looked up, continuing to spin a pencil between his fingers, not wanting to get caught staring at some random man in a coffee shop. He couldn't help occasionally falling into one of his usual daydreams, imagining that the man, or anyone if the coffee shop, could be his soulmate, and they'd suddenly appear out of nowhere to take him away from this life and live happily together forever. It sounded like a cheesy fairytale. And he was sure that was all it would ever be. He didn't even know how he would even know someone was his soulmate if he did manage to meet them. Most people had been assigned partners anyway. He'd been lucky enough to not have been picked to be assigned a partner so far luckily, somehow escaping the system so far, but he was terrified that one day he would be selected, and would be given someone he would never get along with. All he wanted was his true love or soulmate, not some random person. He understood why people hated the system so much. He was bisexual, though with a strong preference for men, and he was worried he'd be put with a woman he really wouldn't want to be with.

He looked back up slowly, carefully, checking whether or not the man was still looking in his direction. He pencil started to slip out of his hand faintly, and he clutched at it a little tighter, tapping the end against his chin gently. The man looked so perfect as he stared downwards at the book he was looking through, and Evan couldn't help slowly lowering his pencil down to a blank page and slowly starting to sketch the man.
