" I must admit, it was close. You really were quite clever. I believe that playwright's play Julius Caeser is quite a fitting comparison. I was the might ruler, Julius Caeser. You, the dear friend, Brutus. And on the night my reign ended, the words I spoke to you were quite similar to Caeser's line- 'et tu, brute?'. However~" He smiled wickedly with Al's face, but the expression was all his. " You would be surprised to find the lengths a man will go to in order to preserve his life. I had thought maybe I would be able to pull through, but alas, you had fatally wounded me. Or, you would have...but I still had those loyal to me, even after the coup d'etat. They who had remained truly loyal and were closest to me still- they had done their best to help me, though it was in vain. So I told them my plan- to find a suitable host to reside in while I completely shut off my physical being. It would heal, over time, completely shut off. They would watch over it, keep it safe and ready for my eventual return. In the mean time, I would bide my time laying low in a suitable host, plotting and planning my revenge- and a way to reclaim my throne. I was in my last hours when dear little Al passed by. A strong-willed, healthy young man. Not bad looking either, I must admit. A perfect candidate. It wasn't like I had much time to waste, so I took my chances- and it worked. There for a while I was too weak to take control, but after enough time- I think it might've been after the incident in his home town- that I was able to take control for the first time. Quite a bit happened after that, and eventually I urged Al to Runemeth, mostly for me to gather Intel. The, somehow, you came along and befriended Al. For whatever reason surpasses my understanding- but you did- and I couldn't just push Al away. My host unfortunately needed some type of companionship, and I still needed him around as a cover. So I hid myself around you, though seeing you here of all places really got on my nerves- and somewhat on Al's, though I think that was merely because of that little queen of his- that poor idiot." he then looked down at his hands, using Al's power to create a little butterfly made of shadows, before letting it dissolve back from whence it came. '' But enough of my little tale. I have some questions, and I do hope you'll humor me. How does it feel, knowing that, essential, I am Al and Al is me? To know your close friend was hiding such a thing from you for so long? Part of it was his choice, you know. To not tell you he shared his body with another soul... but more so than that, I want to know two things: First of all, what do you plan to do with me now? I mean, you can't kill me without killing Al. You wouldn't really do that to the poor guy, he's been through so much already." He spoke with fake sympathy. " and you can't tell anyone- they will think you insane, believing the poor abandoned changeling is a former king. " Though he seemed distracted, he kept his senses alert for any movement from Lucas that could indicate an attack. " My second question- What, exactly, is your goal with the Emberelic princess? and don't worry, Al can not hear us right now. Though he is quite angry at me, I can still overpower him for the time being." That was true. He could spare the strength for now, but he needed to preserve it from here on out. He had checked in on his original form a short while back, and it was almost ready. But he needed the strength to make sure Al didn't get himself killed- he still would need him for a while after he got back into his own body. Plus he needed the strength to cleave the bind between their spirits. Not that such a bond can ever truly be severed, anyways.

" Yes, but the elders only want you to wed someone of their choosing. This enigma that your head-over-heels for isn't of their choosing. " she took a bite of her food before continuing. " and I wouldn't say that this 'isn't the time' for finding the king- the elders are probably searching for a suitor for you right now. A time of crisis is exactly the time to unite two kingdoms- henceforth making the now conjoined kingdoms stronger. So, I'd be careful keeping him around- at least in the castle anyways. "
