Amy recognized the growl as a defensive one. Once again, Tommy reminded her of Aj. The black and tan mutt would always use that sort of growl to warn strangers away. She remained quiet as he communicated with the leopard. Amy was sure that was what he was doing and she did not want to make it worse by interrupting. She turned to look wit hehr two origional eyes, but kept them averted. She knew enough to keep from accidentally challenging the big cat with a direct stare.
The way Tommy had rubbed against her hand puzzled her. It was one of those things only cats did. Amy took it as a request to rub harder and did her best to work the tension out of Tommy's shoulder.
