male / female | staffordshire terrier x labrador | two months | where;; camp | tags;; puppies, remedy, bentley
- eyes bouncing from shiloh to bentley, he wasn't sure where to go or what to do! shiloh spun around in search of his brother. he hadn't had a good wrestling match with sammy in a while, and it was about time he won against the other male puppy. shiloh caught sight of the pup, seeing that he was laying with marie. shiloh released a huff while watching them. honestly, he didn't like marie much. she was without a doubt the most whiny puppy in the pack. she drove him crazy with the way she'd cry throughout the day and night to their mother. whether it was because she was tired, hungry, or just upset because of something her siblings had done. deep down shiloh loved her, and he wouldn't let anyone hurt her but she annoyed the heck out of him. he was almost scared to touch her, knowing she'd find something to whimper about sooner or later. the male's attention lingered toward millie, his partner in crime. she was climbing up onto bentley's back and had successfully balanced herself on him. the male gave a playful growl. he stalked towards her, body low to the ground. shiloh opened his jaws and took her by leg, pulling her off of the bernese mountain dog's back. it wasn't easy, but he managed to pull her to the dirt. the pup hurried to pull himself up, pawing and clawing into bentley's thick fur with plans to make the dog his throne. he'd quickly decided that whoever could stay up on that throne the longest would be crowned the alpha. finally stealing his spot over bentley he looked down at her with an unmistakably smug look on his face. "sit and stay, omega! i'm the real alpha of this pack!" shiloh growled at her, feeling like he was on top of the world. he snickered, planting his paws deep in the dog's fur to prepare himself for her revenge. the pup had forgotten all about what remedy had scolded him for just a few moments ago, until he paused and saw her gaze. he could practically feel her eyes burning a hole in him. shiloh offered a hesitant wag of his tail, hoping she'd let them get by with it. they were awake and out of the den now, weren't they?
marie curled up beside sammy who had come over and laid with her. she rested his head over him, listening quietly while mother dog spoke with bentley. marie watched warily as shiloh crept up on millie. the pup would have warned her sister, but her rambunctious brother couldn't be stopped. the female watched in horror as he yanked her off of bentley's back and she hit the dirt with a thud. it looked like it had hurt, but it wasn't uncommon for her siblings to roughhouse and get -what marie would consider, violent. her wide eyes were switched from millie to shiloh as he pushed his paws into poor bentley. the female crawled away from them with her tail tucked, always hoping the same thing- that she wouldn't be caught up in their fights. she let out a soft whine, making her way over bentley's large front paws and resting against his chest fur. she could still hear her violent siblings wrestling from the other direction but at least she wasn't to where she could be injured by them. the pup looked up to bentley with rather worried eyes thinking that maybe he could help her.

- remedy nodded with a bright grin towards the male. "well, you know how they are." the mother laughed. they weren't a problem for her, but always a handful of course. they really did bring a light to her life, and the other pack dogs. her mind wandered while she allowed the puppies to run around and have time to speak with bentley. if one of the puppies were in reach she would have groomed them, though since they weren't she began to groom her own paws. she groomed them slowly, realizing the bottom of her paws had become a little softer. that could happen after staying cooped up in her den for a week. remedy really missed hunting with a group. ever since her puppies had transitioned from drinking milk to gradually learning to tear though meat, she had enjoyed exploring and finding prey with the rest of the pack. on top of having the adrenaline from a hunt, she got a short break from her litter. remedy absolutely loved being around them, though she also loved having time to herself without getting her ears and tail chewed on every five minutes. while watching her puppies bound around the staffordshire realized something. when they were walking up to greet him, he really seemed like something was on his mind. she wasn't sure what, though. remedy gave a slight glare to shiloh when she noticed him rough housing with millie again. despite shiloh not following her directions from earlier she didn't intervene just yet. they weren't getting out of hand and they were out of the den now. she'd stop them if they got too rough. bringing her attention up to bentley again she looked at him with a gaze that apologized on it's own, without words. thinking back to the way he seemed lost in thought when they came up she spoke up. "we weren't interrupting anything, were we?" truthfully, remedy had a lot on her mind as well. it seemed everyone in the pack did lately.

- cedar watched his paws for a split second, avoiding some fallen twigs that could have been a pain to step on. he leaned into bella gently, leading her around them so neither of them would walk over the wood. his actions towards the retriever showed how much he cared for her. he showed this each and every day in little acts of kindness and letting her know he would be there to talk or listen when needed. cedar had never delayed caring for his friends and bella was one he held very close to his heart. bentley and the others had always been appreciated by him, but there was no doubt that he and the female had something special between them. his ears raised a little, listening to bella closely while she spoke. he swayed his tail once again, comforted by what she told him. easing into his steps he quickened their pace ever so slightly. cedar's nose twitched, searching for the scent of the field while he walked along. it had always been so beautiful and such a safe space for him to go. if cedar was ever missing from the camp when things weren't going well for him, he could be found basking there. he was never one to ask for help until it became urgent. burdening others with his problems wasn't something he ever wanted to do, and avoiding that was something he'd become very used to. so accustomed to that half of the pack members never would have guessed anything was ever troubling him. the field was an easy get-away instead of talking to others.
while imagining the field and how beautiful it would be in the early morning, he came to a slow stop. cedar could see that a large tree had fallen and was blocking the path. the terrain on the sides of the path were very bumpy and rugged, so he definitely didn't want to take a chance with his hips by finding a way around it. he guessed it had somehow fallen when the catastrophe came along. the male shifted on his paws, carefully looking over the branches that were sticking up from it. they were sharp, and the tree was rather large so he and bella would have to be careful. cedar gave her a gentle smile through his hesitance, determined to reach the field. "here, you can follow me." it wasn't too long before he found a clear spot to jump over, but he guessed there wouldn't be much jumping. he placed his front paws onto it and pulled himself up with as much strength as he could build. cedar grunted and grumbled, nearly taking a tumble as he came down the other side. he looked ahead, seeing a clear route on the rest of the path. the elder turned around, placing his front paws over it to get a look at the retriever, who was still on the other side. "right here bella, you can do it." he encouraged with a slow wagging tail. he backed up a little, giving her space so that she could get over.
