Karkat stumbled into the kitchen, eyes wide and heart racing as he continued to struggle over the panic from his dream. He poured himself a glass of water with shaking hands, and started to drink it, choking slightly as he tried to keep his breathing steady.

Dave heard odd noises coming from the kitchen, and cautiously walked over to investigate.
"Whoa," he muttered, as he saw what was happening, "are you feeling alright?"

"I'm okay, I'm okay," Karkat muttered quietly, putting down the half empty glass of water.His hands were still shaking so much that water spilled over the glass and onto the side. He leaned back against the kitchen side near the sink, and let out a deep breath.

Dave made his way over to Karkat, resting his hand on Karkat's back.
"Look, it's obvious something's wrong," he pointed out quietly.

Karkat relaxed slightly when Dave put a hand on his back, and let out another shaky breath. He screwed his eyes tightly shut, and felt a few tears run down his face.
"It was just a nightmare," he murmured, "I'll be okay."

Dave let out a large sigh, wiping away Karkat's tears.
"Just like you said," he whispered soothingly, "it was just a nightmare. You'll be okay," he added.

"Yeah, I'm gonna be fine," Karkat sighed, lifting his head slightly to look up at Dave. "Thank you Dave," he said, wiping away yet another tear, unsure why he was still crying so much.

"No problem," Dave responded, smiling slightly. "Feel free to talk to me about it if you want."

Karkat sighed and picked up his glass of water again.
"Sorry, this is silly," he murmured, "I'm okay."

Dave stared at Karkat disbelievingly.
"Karkat- this is serious," he protested, "I'm worried about you!"
