As Karkat continued to hum, he turned to Dave with a grin. The tune was a familiar song that always reminded him of Dave.

Dave smiled back, closing his eyes slowly, still tapping his foot on the ground.

Karkat continued cooking, dancing around slightly as he did so, sneaking glances at Dave whilst he had his eyes closed.

Dave let out a few yawns from time to time, but tried to stay in tune as he did. Things like this really made him feel better.

Karkat slowly stopped humming as he finished cooking, and wandered over to Dave.
"Dinner's ready," he said quietly, not wanting to scare him by sneaking up on him.

Dave flinched a little, but nodded in response, smiling weakly.

Karkat handed him a plate of food, before taking one for himself. He headed into the living room to eat on the sofa, figuring it would be more comfortable.

Dave took it shakily, as he watched Karkat leave to go back into the living room. He figured he'd rather try to solve his problems silently alone, so he dragged a chair near the kitchen window.

Karkat ate alone silently, flicking through his phone with one hand as he did so. Roxy had sent him a selfie with Callie, and Terezi had sent him a few messages as well.

Dave just stared out the window, taking small bites from the food. He was slightly surprised by how well it was made.
