"I'm trying to think of something," Karkat murmured. He looked up and smiled again when he saw Dave starting to fall asleep. "You can sleep if you need to," he told him quietly.

"No I'm alright," Dave yawned, looking at the floor.

Karkat couldn't help finding that Dave's yawn sort of contradicted his point, but he nodded anyway.
"Should we try and make something for dinner?" Karkat suggests, glancing out of the window, where it's starting to get a little darker.

Dave shrugged noticeably, looking out the window, too.
"Sure, I guess," he responded furthermore.

Karkat stood up, and headed towards the kitchen. He pulled open a few of the cupboards, seeing what food they had and trying to think of something he could make.

Dave followed close behind him, looking around the kitchen as if he never saw it before. He crossed his arms, oddly cold from walking through the entrance.

Karkat pulled a few things from the cupboard and turned the oven on, before turning to Dave, noticing his crossed arms.

Dave tapped his foot lightly on the tiled floor, humming softly to himself.

As Karkat started to cook, he heard Dave's humming, and, recognising the tune, he joined in, humming along with him.

It took Dave a while to recognize the duet Karkat created, hoping he wasn't blushing.
