"Yeah," Karkat said, "I don't really know what happens at weddings. Aren't you supposed to wear like... fancy clothes?"

"We're supposed to, but that doesn't mean that we HAVE to," Dave laughed, trying to make himself feel better.
"Other than that, the two who are getting married- in this case, Rose and Kanaya- say their vows and stuff, and the people who got invitations just talk with each other and eat fancy foods when it's done. This usually lasts until nighttime."

"Oh, well I'm good at talking and eating," Karkat said with a shrug. "And knowing Rose and Kanaya, it's probably not going to be the most normal of weddings."

"So we'll be able to actually fit in," Dave chuckled. He smiled slightly and motivatingly to himself.

"Yep," Karkat said with a small smile. The waiter came over with the food at that point, and they were silent while the waiter was there.

Dave looked down at the floor until the waiter left their table. He didn't dare look up or make any movements.

Once the waiter was gone, Karkat pulled his food towards him and took a bite.
"Huh, it's really good," he said. He noticed Dave's quietness around the waiter, but ignored it, not wanting to make him any more uncomfortable.

"I guess," Dave mumbled, taking small bites of his dish.

Karkat was quiet for a while as he ate. He still wasn't used to human food, and he was always surprised by it.

Dave, also, kept silent the entire time, not eating much of his food at all. All he really did was stare at the floor.
