Kit clenched his fists.
"What? You're afraid of me? I've done nothing!"

Martha groaned.
"Oh, shut up and leave ya shrimp. Some of us are tryna sleep!"

[Boomer]

Alessa pinned her ears back as she crawled backwards, setting her feet on the floor and crouching down. Terror was in her eyes as she stared at his fists, ready to dodge them so she didn't get hit in the face. Her tail was tucked in between her legs and she was shaking.

[H4rv3y]

Kit whipped his head toward the half-asleep nurse.
"I am no shrimp! I am the King!"

Martha finally realized who she had insulted and sat up drowsily.
"Just get out. The pup doesn't like you and it's quite clear to see why." She turned to Alessa with a soft gaze. "It's okay, honey."

Alex slowly got up and tiptoed toward Alessa while Kit's back was turned. She rested a dainty paw on the child's shoulder.

[Boomer]

Alessa's skin crawled as Alex put her paw on her shoulder. It wasn't Alex's fault, she was just scared and all of her focus was on Kit. She didn't even hear Alex walk over to her. Alessa lowered herself to the floor, hoping he'd go away soon.

[H4rv3y]

Kit huffed furiously.
"Well if she ever wants to see her family again, she better stop with this attitude!" He raged out, muttering curses under his breath.

[Boomer]

As much as Alessa loved her family, she wasn't going to let herself be hurt again. The pup shakily stood up. "I-I apologized for my episodes." she said, "Y-you h-have been horrible to me s-since we got off the plane. I-I d-don't want to b-be around s-someone that treats me j-just as bad as M-Mother did."

[H4rv3y]

Kit grunted.
"You shut up! Why should I even care for you? You are useless now, anyways. Just for that, you're never going to leave the castle; PERIOD!"

Alex's legs faltered slightly as Kit seemed to have smoke puffing out of his nostrils. She caught herself, but the King seemed to just be overreacting.

[Boomer]

Alessa felt hurt and angry by his words. "If I'm so useless then, why don't you just let me go back to my family?!" she snarled. To her, Kit couldn't have it both ways; he couldn't treat her so badly and refuse to let her go. It didn't make any sense. If he hated her so much, why not send her away? His thinking was dangerously close to Dahlia's thinking, which only fueled her desire to escape. The next step Dahlia took after realizing she couldn't give Alessa away without her telling someone about the abuse? Try to kill her own daughter.

Kit looked slightly shocked. He mumbled before speaking up.
"H-How dare you speak to me like that! I am your father and King. I'm done with this attitude...you will be spending tomorrow in the dungeons!"

[Boomer]

"Fine! It isn't anything worse than what Mother did!" she snapped, "I'm tired of your attitude as well!" She bared her teeth and growled lowly. She felt more powerful when anger took over; it was the only way for her to fight back. Perhaps it wasn't right to counter aggression with aggression, but it's all she had. Alessa was too small and frail to do anything else.
