"Hm..." Alex blinked toward the sun. Calculating the time.
"We have ten more minutes."

[Boomer]

"Oh..." she murmured, "Well... I suppose being twenty minutes early is better than ten." She closed the sketchbook and walked towards Alex. "He wanted to meet us in the dining room, right?" she asked.

Alex nodded, she then waved for Martha to stop teasing the birds with treats.
"Come on, you old bird lady." Alex joked, huffing out a few compressed laughs.

[Boomer]

Alessa looked over to Martha and the birds. While she liked animals, she was always a little weary around them. She knew they could bite and she didn't want to do anything that would make them lash out like that. Alessa gave Martha the pencil and sketchbook back.

Martha perked at Alessa's illustration and remarked how lovely it was.
Once reaching the dining room, the gecko departed and vanished through a set of doors.

[Boomer]

Alessa waved goodbye to Martha, happy that she got to spend some time with the nurse. She entered the dining room and sat down in her chair. She patiently waited for Kit to arrive.

Alex stood off to the side, with her hand clasped together and her eyes on the floor.
After a few minutes, Kit announced his arrival, waltzing in still dressed in royal robes. He eyed Alessa.
"You look...better." Seating himself at the head of the table, Kit cleared his throat. "So you need to stop with the whole I eat first thing, it's weird. Once you are served, just eat. But no slurping, smacking, or weird faces."

Alessa decided to take his first statement as a compliment. She listened to him intently, her paws folded on the table. She kept her elbows off, as Mary had taught her it wasn't polite. She glanced to Alex for a moment, then looked back to Kit. "I-I'll try my hardest." she said quietly. Seven years of brainwashing wasn't going to be broken in one meal.

Kit huffed arrogantly.
"Now, a few notifications. Since I can't take care of you, Alex is going to be your official handmaiden. She'll be everywhere at least within the vicinity of you to keep you at bay. You can choose where to go, but Alex has to follow."

[Boomer]

Alessa wasn't quite sure how to react to that. He had went through the trouble of kidnapping her, but wanting nothing to do with her? She thought it was a bit selfish of him. "What if I wanted to spend time with you?" she asked. Alessa hoped that hearing that she'd want to spend time with him might soften his attitude.
