Outcast 1x1 with the_kiiwii

After his shower, Penn got dresed in some fresh clothes and helped himself in the kitchen. His mum didn't like him and his brothers pigging out on junk food so she kept those under lock and key but everything else was free game. Since he didn't have dinner last night, he decided to cook himself some fish and chips.

After he finished, Penn rushed to his room with the food and a drink so his brother wouldn't smell his food and try to steal some. It always ended in a fight if his mum wasn't home to tell them both off. He shut his door with his foot, sat on his bed and ate while watching stuff on his phone. Penn occasionally glanced out his window, in case Avalon came back but eventually he was too absorbed in what he was watching to keep looking.

After standing outside of Penn's widow for almost ten minutes he finally worked duo the courage to fly up. But before he did that, Avalon and sure his eyes were dry and tried to put on as normal of a face as he could make. With a push of his wings he took off into the air. Avalon clung to the window sill and knocked.

Avalon wanted to talk to Penn but he was also so scared he would just break down. How a he supposed to ask Penn if he could stay one more night? Especially after he bad insisted on leaving earlier. Ugh Avalon was just digging his own grave. Staying with Penn would murder his heart. Avalon took a deep breath as he waited for Penn to open he door. He had to come up with something.

Penn jumped a little at the knocking before looking up and seeing who it was. "Av!" Penn smiled and opened the window. "Are you alright?" Avalon didn't look mad or upset exactly, it was more..Penn couldn't find the word.

"Come on in" Maybe he didn't go see his dad and came back to take Penn up on his offer. It made Penn feel better to see Avalon back but thatcould also mean something went bad at home. He was probably thrown out til his mum got back, that's what Avalon said would happen.

Avalon offered Penn a weak smile. "Uh, yeah I'm fine..." he said closing the window. "Um... Could I stay here for one more night? It would oy be one night... I get it if you don't me to though." Avalon said. Avalon didn't want to ware out his welcome so he didn't dare asking for any more days. If need be he could rent out a hotel room. Ask much as he didn't want to, Avalon would probably need to ask his mom to send him money. He just needed a believable excuse that wouldnt make her suspicious that something was wrong.

Avalon awkwardly leaned against Penn's wall, and tried to avoid eye contact with the other boy. Even though it sounded strange, he hoped Penn would say no. Thing would be less awkward if he said no, but He would need a place to stay tonight. Avalon tried to think, maybe he could find a cheap motel for the night.

Looks like things didn't go well at home if Avalon wanted to stay another night. "Course you can Av. I told you, it wouldn't be a problem. You can sleep in my brothers old room, it's got a bed and my mum will feed you and do your clothes." Penns mum was very nice and welcoming to his and his brothers friends aslong as they weren't rude or demanding.

"Mum gets back about half an hour after school finishes so it'll be a while til she gets here. We can just chill til then. Hungry?" Penn offered some of his food to Avalon. He hadn't eaten much of it since he was distracted with his show.

Avalon smiled. "Th-thank you, so much! But there's no need, I can do my own clothes and such. Um and I don't mind if you have enough food I would be happy to make dinner. Uh, it's the least I can do since you guys are letting me stay. I think I'm at least a decent cook since I would always cook dinner for my dad since he gets home so late..." Avalon said with a nod. He didn't really want to stay on the topic of his dad. He would feel far to uncomfortable just sleeping there and making everyone do things for him. He wanted to be able to help out.

Avalon wanted to smack himself in the face. He had totally forgotten to grab the backpack from under his porch. He didn't have any clothes to change into and his heart would fly out of his chest if he had to ask to borrow some of Penn's clothes. But, if he didn't then he would have to wear the same clothes for 3 days in a row. Ugh, why did his heart always have to betray him like that!?

"You're my guest but I mean, if you wanna help out, sure. My mum would probably love an extra chef in the kitchen." Not like Penn or his brothers didn't help out at all but his mum was just so specific cooking, Penn usually caused more trouble than help.

Penn narrowed his eyes for a second. "Did you bring anything with you? Clothes? School stuff? A bag?" Penn asked, realizing Avalon didn't have anything besides what he's wearing. He probably didn't have time to grab anything before being thrown out. "I can help with clothes, maybe, but not with school stuff."

"Good. I'd be glad to help out a little." Avalon said with a smile. He was warming up to Penn much quicker then he had expected. Avalon was glad though, it made conversation easier, even though it was still difficult and slightly awkward in his opinion.

Avalon shook his head. "Oh um, I don't have any clothes sorry. I forgot to grab my usual bag from home, sorry. And um, most of my school stuff is in my locker. I just don't have my notebooks with notes." he explained to Penn. Avalon looked around the room, suddenly feeling awkward since he was just standing there. "Thank you though."

"It's no pronlem. You can borrow some of my clothes. Hopefully they fit." Just from looking, Penn guessed they were roughly the same size. If not, Avalon could borrow his brothers hand-me-downs. "Hope you don't mind holes in the back." The clothes were tailored for angels after all.

"Want me to give you a bit of a tour?" Penn offered. Not that his house was big or anything. It would be good to show Avalon around so he wouldn't accidently barge into the wrong rooms.

Th-that's fine. Thank you."* Avalon responded once again. He was glad that he wouldn't have to ask Penn for clothes, he would have felt to awkward to actually ask. Despite everything with his father today was going surprisingly well. After all, he did get to spend the day with Penn, and not go to school. So despite the horrible stuff it did turn out alright.

The harpy boy nodded. "Oh, sure! That's would be nice." Avalon nodded. He figured it would be very useful to know where everything was so he didn't embarass himself.
