Outcast 1x1 with the_kiiwii

Penn was happy that Avalon said yes. He'd be worried all night if Avalon was out here by himsf all night. He considered the possibily of hanging out with him all night if he had said no but then Penns mum would go nuts if he wasn't home in the morning. Then she'd send his brothers to find him and that would be a whole other problem.

It's nothing man, hopefully your dad pulls his head out by tomorrow. Come on amd follow me." Penn spread his wings before making a single large flap and lifting into the air with ease. It was easy for angels to get in the air off the ground, they were extremely light compared to other wing species and their wings were large enough to give them alot of lift.

Penn waited for Avalon in the air, looking around in case the copper came back. If things come to it, he was sure Avalon would lie for him. Well, he hoped. He couldn't guarentee if he would.

Avalon watched as Penn took to the sky. He gulped. Avalon couldn't fly that far... He didn't have the natural strength that most Harpies had. While he could fly he just couldn't for very long. He didn't want to make Penn walk though.


"um, how far away is you're house?" he asked. Avalon stayed on the ground. He could fly but if it was to far away he would have to land, and walked the remainder. "I'm sorry but I can't fly as long as other Harpies. If it's anything more then 15-20 minutes ill have to walk the remainder of the way." he explained. Avalon wasn't usually embarrassed about this limitation, but now he was worried Penn would just think he was weak.

"Oh, um, sorry. It's about 5 minutes by flight." Penn was a little surprised Avalon could only fly for such a small period of time. Penn could stay in the sky almost all day if that wasn't so boring. Though, it must be exhausting to fly by flapping your arms.

"We can walk if you're tired. I don't mind." As much as Penn didn't want to be on foot, it would be rude to leave Avalon to walk by himself while Penn flew. Maybe Penn could carry Avalon? How heavy is a harpy? Avalon didn't look heavy Penn thought.

"oh, I could fly that, no problem" Avalon said. He was glad that Penn lived so close, plus that meant their houses weren't that far from eachother. He would be fine flying for 5 minutes. It wouldn't bother him at all. Avalon knew that if he just practiced flying more, or trained his arms and core muscles better he would msot likely be able to fly for longer. Harpies were made to fly but, do to his mixed blood he wasn't nearly strong enough to fly like them.

"Oh I cana fly it's short anyway. Dont worry Ill be fine" Avalon said. He leaped into the air and with a flap of his arms he flew up towards Penn. Avalon got next to Penn pretty quickly, while he coudln't fly long he could fly quite quickly, whoich helped a lot. Avalon sheepishly smiloed at Penn "Lead the way." He said, excited to got o Penn's house.

Penn was impressed with how quick Avalon flew. He guessed harpies were made for speed, not endurance. "Alright! Follow me." Penn smiled and started flying away from the park. Every few minutes Penn would check on Avalon, just in case, until they were at his house."Down here."


Penn's house was nowhere near as big as Avalons. It was a cozy two-story house with a small front yard littered with plants that Penn's mum tended. "My room is up the top, we have to go through my window, so be quiet. Penn glided to the side of the house where his window was and gently slid it open before climbing inside.

Avalon did as he was told and followed Penn towards the other boys house. Whenever the other boy looked back at him Avalon offered a small smile or a thumbs up to signal that he was fine. It had actually been a while since Avalon had last flown and it felt nice to stretch his wings and get the wind in his face. For now he would just enjoy the feeling. Generally Avalon didn;t like to fly like this but he sure was enjoying it now, and figured it was because he was with Penn.

He said a simple okay and followed Penn to his window, his heart rate picking up. Avalon grabbed a hold of the window sill and gingerly stepped inside. He was very light on his feet and barely made any noise. Avalon nervously stood by the window, hoping his face wasnt as red as it felt. He nervously grabbed hold of his left forearm with his right hand. Avalon felt like he should do or say something but wasnt sure what.

Finally he realized it would be rude to make Penn get the cushions on his own sicne after all they were for Avalon so he decided to offer his help. "Um, do you need help moving the couch cushions?" He asked hoping that he could be useful to Penn in some way.

"Nah man, I can get them. Besides, you don't know where they are. I'll be back in a sec." Penn said quietly as he opended his door and looked out. He listened in case one of his family had woken up. He didn't hear anything so he left his room and crept downstairs.

Penn tiptoed past his familys rooms to the loungeroom and quickly grabbed the cushions and hustled his way back to the room. "Here we are, cushion delivery." Penn smiled and set the cushions on the floor.

Penn grabbed a pillow and blanket off his bed and tossed them on the cushions. "There we go, tell me if it's not comfy. I'm gonna head to bed." Penn sat on his bed and kicked his shoes off and slipped off his shirt with only a little trouble. "Wake me if you, like, need the bathroom "

Avalon nodded. He felt bad for not helping Penn with the cushins but at least he offered to help. Avalon patiently waited. He felt extremely awkward just standing by the window, waiting for Penn to return. Even though it didn't take long he still felt weird just standing there... Unsure of what to do other then take of his she's and place them by the window.

Avalon smiled as Penn and back, "Oh, thanks!" he said with a soft smile. Avalon sat down on the cushion. "Oh no, this is fine thanks!" he said with a nod. Avalon had spent a few nights sleeping on the ground or on his front porch so the cushions were quite comfortable compared to a lot.

Avalon tried to tear his eyes away as Penn took off his shirt. His face lit up like a Christmas tree as he nervously turned away. He knew that Penn wasn't doing it on purpose but it was like he was trying to drive the Harpy boy nuts. Avalon stared at the ground, his face bright red, waiting for Penn to get in bed so he could look back up.

After Penn spoke again Avalon nodded. He quickly pushed his face into the pillow ready to scream. His feelings we're so obvious, he was just glad that Penn couldn't tell.

Damn, Avalon must be tired if he's face first in his pillow, Penn thought. He did say he can't fly for long amounts of time, plus Penn didn't know how long Avalon was roaming the streets before they met up. Penn smiled, feeling good for helping a friend out.

He quietly closed the window above his bed and turned the lamp off, making the whole room pitch black. He crawled under the blankets and relaxed. He yawned slightly, boy, he was tired. He always felt sleepy as soon as he was in bed . "Night Av." Penn mumbled as he closed his eyes and tried to sleep.

"N-night!" Avalon said quickly, lifting his face slightly so Penn could understand what he was saying. Avalons face was still red but not as bad.

After Avalon thought Penn had fallen asleep he sat up. Avalon glanced at Penn, unable to stop himself from staring for a bit. He felt like a total creep, but it was still difficult to look away. Avalon groaned and covered his face with his freckled hands, and let himself fall back into he pillow. He needed to do something about this crush. Avalon usually didn't fall for someone so quickly, but apparently Penn was the exception. Something about this guy just made it impossible for Avalon to ignore him. The Harpy boy sighed. He just needed to get some sleep.

Avalon was glad that Penn had let him stay. It was really comforting to know that he cared. Plus it meant that Penn was most likely trusted Avalon, at least enough to let him stay. After all you would never let anyone you didn't trust I to your home while you slept. The thought caused him to smile, at least he was getting somewhere. He soon fell asleep, face burried in the blanket instead of using it to warm himself.
