The Line We Made 1x1

He drove to the hospital and walked inside. He looked at him. “See you in an hour.” He said to his partner. He then headed to the security guard to talk to him and see what was going on.

Luke was with their daughter. He was holding her and she was crying into his shirt.

Jaxon nodded and went to find their daughter, following his nose, he found them and frowned worriedly, "Hey Tess." he said softly, worried about her being hurt.

“Dada!” She said through tears. She held her arms out to him. Luke smiled a little glad to see him. “How did you get off?” He asked him curiously. He was really glad he was here. They had a splint on her foot till they figured out what’s wrong. “We are waiting for the xrays.” He said to him.

"I didn't, my partner had to come do some work here." he said softly, as he took Tess gently, knowing his vest wasn't exactly soft, but she hadn't minded Luke's uniform. He held her close, "I only have an hour." he said softly as he rubbed her back, "What happened?" he asked.

“Well, that is nice...” he said. “My parents said that when my mom was at the store and my dad was watching her, he left the room and she climbed on the counter and fell off. Tess held onto her dada tightly and put her head on his shoulder. She calmed down a little. “She wanted you.” He added.

"Oh Tess, you have to be careful, what were you doing on the counter?" he asked gently as he held her close and rubbed her back, he was a little surprised she had wanted him, but he was glad he could be there for her.

“I wanted a cup.” She said to her dad. She held onto him tightly. The doctor came back in. “Her foot is broken, but it is not bad. She will be fine with a boot for a few weeks.” He said to them. “It is a small fracture.” He added. “Dada? Can we go home and watch a movie?” She asked. She wanted to go home. The doctor had a boot with him but could not put it on her when she was holding on so tight to her dad.

Jaxon looked at her, "I have to go back to work sweetheart, but you and daddy can watch a movie, and maybe even have some ice cream." he said with a soft smile as he looked at her.

“Okay...” she said quietly. She wasn’t happy about that. She wanted her dada. Luke looked at his fiancé. “I can take her if you need to get back to your partner.” He said to him. He wasn’t sure how long he had. He looked at his daughter. “Can we watch something when you get home?” She asked.

Jaxon nodded and rubbed his back, "He said I have an hour." he murmured softly as he held Tess, he kissed her forehead, he looked down at her when she spoke again, "If you are still up we can." he nodded and kissed her forehead. "But you will have lots of fun with daddy."
