"No," Eleanor snarled. "You go ahead and stay. I'm leaving." She shoved past them, grabbing her wrap and storming out of the house.
Elliott just stared, sort of hiding behind Romeo as Eleanor stormed away.
Maisie, unaware that he was drunk, pulled him towards the set of stairs she had ran down. Jakob was lying on the floor at the bottom of it, and a maid's cart was beside him with its contents scattered everywhere. The maid was crouched beside Jakob, trying to figure out how to help him hysterically. "I'm so sorry, Your Highness!" she exclaimed as she saw him approaching. "I didn't even see him coming." Jakob stared blankly up at Matteo, tremors rolling through him as he gasped short breaths. He had landed on his side, and his arm was twisted unnaturally beneath him. His normally tan skin was a sickly pale colour, his matted hair sticking to his sweaty head.
