Her eyes grew with excitement as she heard him squeak and a smirk danced on her lips. “I think you need to evaluate yourself and decided that on your own? I can’t make that choice for you. One hand, I have my mate, fiancé. On the other hand, I have my best friend. If you feel you want to talk to him about things that had happened, then do it.” Her lips kissed the spot where she bit him and was followed by another nip. She quickly moved to get up and reached up to his face to plant a kiss on his lips.

He huffed a bit as he saw her excitement from the sound he’d made. “I think you should think about making up with Cara. Don’t bite my head off...I didn’t say you have to, just think about it. Meanwhile, I’ll be thinking on why does my mom hate me? Ha, probably because I stopped helping her...Why’d she stop loving me after a certain age, though? Um...I’m going to go get the food now. Okay?” he asked, kissing her on the head. He smiled when she got up to kiss him full on. He touched her face, then finally moved to go get the food actually.

She huffed loudly when Jacob suggested getting along with her sister. Though the attitude melted away when he kissed her head. A smile crossed her lips as she leaned her head into his hand then kissed the palm. “Be safe.” She said softly as he started to move away.

A heavy sigh left her as she watched him go but she had to get up. Quickly, she went to the store to get a new phone and hooked her account up to it, receiving multiple missed calls and text messages. Shane was asking what was wrong with Cara and where was she. Then a few were from her assistant and another from her mother, which made her frown. What did her mother want? Or rather her adopted mother? She would need to confront her family about this. Thankfully, she made it back home in a timely fashion and sighed when she fell back on to the couch.

Jacob heard her huff loudly when he told her to think about it. He hummed as he watched her melt when he kissed her head. He smiled as she leaned and kissed his hand. “I will be,” he said, and headed out. He transformed and began to run. He knew where to run without being seen by humans, knew how to stick to shadows and be safe on the trip.

He hummed as he transformed again, then went into the place. He ordered two fries, a burger, an ice cream, and a drink. He got the stuff in a bag, and took it outside. He transformed, picked up the bag, and began to run again. He made it back just after Jess, transforming and going to her place.

She heard the door clicking open and immediately shot up. A smile was broad across her face as she got up and skipped over to the door, opening it to Jacob holding a bag. Henry had snakes around the corner just in time to see Jessica throwing her arms around his shoulders while being on her tippy toes. He went back off to his room to nap.

Jacob hummed as he walked through the door, then waited at her room. He smiled as she opened that door, seeing her smiling there. He hummed as he held up the bag to show her. He sensed Henry was there...but didn’t bother looking. He let her hug him around the shoulders a moment. He then asked her to sit at the table, and waited.

She reluctantly let go of him and nodded, making her way over the table to sit patiently for him. “I’ve been thinking lately.” It wasn’t hard to tell she was worried about her next few words. “Why did you say yes to marrying me?”

He made a small sound when he saw her reluctance to let go. He shortly joined her at the table, humming as he did so. He dipped his head as she said she’d been thinking, then sighed at her next words... “I didn’t do it for mom, I did it to protect you from her...”

Her eyes looked up to him with confused, unsure eyes. “I didn’t know you though. Why would you want to protect me?” She looked down and started fidgeting with her hands in her lap.

“Mom showed me your picture a couple times,” he confirmed to her. “She also said she’d find a way to hurt you if I didn’t marry you...She also told me to be a jerk or be distant, or she’d hurt you. She’s a were-cat too, you know.”
