she rolled her eyes. It was like she was being scolded by her mother. She was free to do whatever she wanted. Standing true to her bold character, she spoke up. “I didn’t think i had to report to you mother.” Even though her voice was sharp, her physical features were still relaxed. This woman was a snake was only after the money her family would bring them. This relationship wasnt for love. It was a business deal. She was the bargaining chip. Her own mother did this behind her back without consent and now, there was no way she could pull out. She followed Michell into the dining room and took a seat without waiting for her approval. Being rebellious had its perks and its cons but she could disappear any moment and this marriage would never go through. Then where would Michell turn to run. A smirk crossed her face at the thought of his mother running around frantically. She glanced at Jacob but didn’t bother to acknowledge him either. He was just as guilty as his mother and if they were going to make this work, she’d ignore him in private to keep things civil. Her eyes went back to Michell as she held a bored expression. “So why did you want to meet today?”

tending to some pressuring business matters, he started his work while he waited. True he hated starting and stopping but what else was there to do while sitting there. Then he received a phone call from another company and began talking over some things. They had agreed to go to lunch in 2 hours to discuss some other things. His eyes glanced over at the door when he heard the knock. “Come in.” His glaze was cold and dull. This female was gonna be like all the others. Lazy and fawning over his looks to the point, where he would just fire them because he could never get any work done.

Jacob HenryHis mother noticed how Jess rolled her eyes, her own eyes narrowing...She snorted, which wasn’t quite ladylike, but who was around? Only Jessica and Jacob, and her son wouldn’t say anything. Jessica could try, but people would likely believe Michelle over her. She made an irritated sound at the sarcastic Mother...Taking Jess’ wrist, she glared into her eyes, then let go and turned on her heel. She glanced to the room Jacob had been in, expecting he’d gone to the dining room already. She didn’t mind Mela being there, as long as the cat remained under the table. Away from the food...that was all she asked. Her husband favored Shane but she favored Jacob, the mama’s boy. He’d actually been sick awhile when small, so she’d spoilt the boy. He loved his mother, and therefore defended her and did everything she said. Jacob noticed her looking, shaking his head and huffing. He noticed how she was acting, and muttered “Don’t be disrespectful...” Mela meowed up at him, so he put her in his lap, but still under the table. He smiled at the cat, the only thing he smiled at beside his mother...Speaking of, said woman said “I hear from your mother that you went missing...Where’d you go? What were you thinking? Hmm?”
Cara RoseThe reddish brown haired, blue green eyed woman waited behind the door, for him to answer...When he told her to come in, she hesitated a moment. Shaking her head, she steeled herself and put on her serious face. Whatever he was thinking, she’d surprise him. Oh boy, she’d surprise him...despite not knowing he grouped her together with all the other women. She wouldn’t like that, if she knew...She was quite hard working, in fact. She opened the door, stepping inside, urging Cory to keep quiet and behave. She needn’t have...he always was a well behaved boy. She said “Sir, my name is Cara Rose.”

a whole new wave of anger flushed a crossed her face when his mother grabbed her wrist. She could tolerate the harsh words but she would not stand to be physically touched. “I will warn you this one time because I am marrying your son under the conditions of helping our families but I will not let you touch me again and you should refrain from doing so.” Her threat was loud and clear in her tone of voice. The next victim was Jacob. “And you. I’m not the one being disrespectful. You are idly standing by while your mother touches your future wife. Have some kind of respect for me. I’m only doing this because your mother and my mother conspired behind my back to benefit your family.” Pausing for a few minutes to let everything sink in, she relaxed in her chair till his mother started speaking again. With a forced, heavy sigh, her eyes lifted up to glare michell. “I will do as I please and whatever I choose to do is none of your business if you want this marriage to continue on it’s course. I think we are finish here if you have nothing to say without keeping your hands to yourself or spewing nonsense towards me.”
|Shane Michael|
his dark eyes glared into hers, trying to figure her out. Then he looked down at the dog. “And the dog? I’m going to assume it’s a support animal because you wouldn’t be as bold to bring in otherwise. Am I correct?” He leaned back in his chair and folded his arms. “Have a seat. I expect you to keep up with my schedule, hand all my meetings, you are required to be there unless I say otherwise. Also, I won’t require you to lift heavy objects but do expect you fulfill any task I throw at you without hesitation or objection. I don’t want to be questioned on any task either. You are on call when off and be prepared to work late on nights. However, Sunday you can have off and Saturday’s are only a half a day unless there are meetings or events you must attend with me. Do you understand?” He asked, leaning forward and folding his hands in front of him.

Jacob HenryHis mother snorted again, much quieter this time, ignoring the girl now. She’d let go on her own, needing no prompting...She did glare one more time though, thinking Jess was a brat for the fact her parents had doted on her far too much, Michelle thought. She knew of the other daughter, the one they didn’t speak of though...The only good thing about the other woman was that she’d approached Michelle about marrying off Jess, rather than the other way around. She broke from the thought when Jess turned on her son. She put out a hand, but by that time Jacob was already getting up...Mela had hissed at Jess, her startling similar (to Jess’) eyes catching the girl’s a moment. Then Jacob was up, not fleeing but simply striding from the dining room. Michelle wanted to go after him, to comfort her boy, but instead she turned a glare on the one she thought to be the cause of the problem. Then Jess was speaking again. “Get. out. of. my. house...” she spat, gesturing a butler (they had two). The man had heard the confrontation but still grabbed Jess by the arm, escorting her back to the door and outside. He shut the door again.
Cara RoseHer bright eyes stared right back at him, not quite seeming scared of him. She didn’t even know she ‘should’ be, no one had told her as she walked to the elevator. Now, she listened to and focused on the man before her. “Yes, Cory is a support dog...” she said, as the lab sat obediently beside her. She had to get him up again, so she could go sit, but then Cory was settling again at her side. She didn’t so much as flinch or bat an eyelash when he began to speak again, in that authoritative tone. She didn’t quite like that, because that’s how her parents had spoken to her all her life...before she’d managed to get away from them. She hadn’t regretted leaving Jess there, because they’d seemed to only care for her. She knew, however, that now Mother had engaged her sister to some guy from a well to do family. Clearing her thoughts, she said “I understand...sir.”

She was fuming at this rate. There was no idea of respect with his mother and Jacob was just as spineless. The two brothers were completely different. It was hard to believe that Shane would be lumped in with this family. She didn’t look as Jacob left. What else was he going to do besides sits there and no say anything? Her eyes narrowed on the cat and looked in disgust. Just as pathetic as its owner. “I’ll never come back and I wont marry your son. Have fun surviving after my dad hears about this.” She felt someone grab her arm and reacted by ripping it out of his hand, then slapping the butler across the face. “Don’t touch me again. I can go myself.” She said confidently and walked out with some swag. Approaching the car, her driver opened the door and let her in. Once she and her driver was in, he asked where she wanted to go. “Let’s visit X company. I wish to eat some lunch with my friend.” She said and without question, the driver drove off.

He nodded with a “good.” His phone had gone off with a text message from Jessica. “Well, we’ll be going out for lunch today. It’s not a meeting but you might as well starting some now the people i do business with. Are you allergic to anything?” He asked. His hands were already moving behind the desk. He pulled out a small box. “In here, you’ll find a laptop, a tablet, a work phone, the company credit card, and keys to a company vehicle. The laptop, tablet, and phone have the contacts you’ll need to know. Along with my calendar with events and meetings as of now. The company card can only be used to company related things. This does include meals for meetings and plane tickets. There will be times where in my absence, you will have to fill in for me, for meetings and pressing matters that come up. Though you’ll be familiar with the way i work before that happens. So don’t fret. The car is as you see fit. If something happens to it, no big deal. It can be fixed but at least you’ll be in something reliable and wont have to use any transporting system in the city.”

Jacob HenryThe butler didn’t even flinch, though let out a snort as he watched her depart...Meanwhile, Jacob watched from his window a moment then moved away. He held the mostly-white cat, petting her fluffy coat, as she closed her eyes and purred sweetly at him. He smiled at the chocolate-patch cat, kissing her on the head again. She mewed softly, blinking a few times, then butted his chin gently. He chuckled softly, sighing as he heard his fuming mother heading this way...Bursting in, Michelle cried “Jacob, my baby! Are you alright? That girl is such a brat! I can’t believe her attitude...” “Mother...” was all he said, sighing once more. He was hugged, just barely allowing for it.
Cara RoseShe didn’t nod back, just let him say good and nod at her. She glanced over when his phone made a Text recieved sound. She did nod at him this time, saying “Okay.” then allowing him to speak on. When he asked about allergies, she said “Shellfish...That could kill me.” in a serious tone. She watched as he pulled out a box, giving undivided attention when he spoke once more. Nodding once, she said “Okay, sir.” and stared at the box a moment, wondering how it could hold all that within...She nodded once more, when he told her contacts were in three of those things. All three? Shrugging, she let it go, not saying one word on that. Schedules and calendar too, got it. She nodded along, about the card only being for company expenses. She’d only go to hotels that welcomed Cory... She didn’t speak that out loud, however. She nodded once more, saying “Fill in for you...” then silenced, when he said Don’t fret. She didn’t chuckle, though she surely wanted to. Her face betrayed nothing, however. “Yes. Sir, am I driving us both to the meeting place for lunch?” she questioned, a plausible question.

Her blood was still boiling but she couldnt go after their money and stocks. Her bestfriend was Shane and she wouldnt cause such chaos for him. When Jessica had found out about the arrangement between her and the family, she was under the impression that it was Shane. Her thought was they already got along so well. Marriage wouldnt had been a problem. so she agreed to continue with it till she found out it was Jacob who the planned for her to marry and thats when she started to live a bit dangerously and learn some new tricks, such as fighting and creating one of the most feared gangs in the city. She had wanted to tell her sister for the longest time but she thought her sister hated her. Otherwise, why would Cara leave without taking Jess with her? With a sulken face, she always prayed that Cara was living a wonderful life.

He stood up, straightening out his suit jacket and buttoning it up. "dully noted. Im thinking ramen for lunch today." he knew Jessica loved noodles and who could go wrong with those. He started texting back on his phone then pocketed it. "Also dont worry about the dog. No one would dare give you trouble if they wanted their business to survive, that is." A smirk crossed his face, recalling the countless business's that he took down. When he looked up, he saw the amusing look on her face and his mouth opened into a smile. "Do i amuse you, Miss Rose?" he grabbed the keys out of the box and shook his head. "Nope, ill drive but atleast you get to see the car first. Lets head out." he gestured then strided over the door, opening it for her. Even though he prided himself in being cold and aloof, he also prided himself in being a gentleman.

Jacob HenryOf course, the butler came back and Michelle saw the mark on his face... “Did that brat hit you?!” The butler didn’t speak, but his nod was enough. Michelle had always wondered if the butler was mute, or just refused to talk much because of his station. She’d taken in Kenny, this butler, and his sister after they were thrown out by another family. She saw them as much younger siblings, or her children, even if they weren't. She ran to get a cloth and wet it, bringing it back and making him hold it to his face. Meanwhile, Jacob left his room, Kenny quick to follow and offer a light snack, sensing his mood and figuring he didn’t want a full lunch. Jacob wondered how Shane was...and why Dad didn’t speak to him as much as he did Shane.
Cara RoseShe stood as well, after he said they were having ramen, or rather said he was thinking ramen would be good today. She nodded at him, saying “Ramen sounds good.” then wondering whom it was they were having this lunch meeting with. She had no idea it was her own sister...She’d be so happy if she’d known, getting to see the younger girl again. She shrugged as she nodded again, saying “Yes sir, thank you sir.” then noticed the smirk he showed. She shook her head, looking up when he asked if she amused him. She didn’t miss the smile his lips had curved into. Taking it as a good sign, she shrugged as she said “Perhaps...Who knows?” She tugged gently on the leash, getting the labrador to stand back up. She said “Okay.” and followed after him, smiling when he held the door for her. She waited for him before walking, not knowing which car it was.

He lead her down to the parking garage using the elevator and walked over to a new black jeep grand Cherokee with a very dark tint on the window, unable to see anyone from the inside. He opened the door for cara then dog for the door, letting them get in first before closing it. Then he got in on the driver and used the press to start. "This car is equipped with all the safety features. So parking, driving long distance, car getting close or near you, youll be fine and itll alert you." he started to drive out of the garage and heading towards a restaurant. "This is one of well known business partners and long time friend. Dont bring up family around her. She doesnt like to speak about it. It makes her depressed and i dont feel like dealing with her wrath afterwards. Understand?"

Cara RoseShe didn’t make a sound as she followed him, aside from a quiet humming for a few moments. She stared at the vehicle a moment, then shook her head as she got in. She thanked him for both holding the building door for her, and opening this door for her. She was usually fine in cars and vans, and such, but panic attacks could come on randomly...She allowed Cory to be in the back, but if he was needed he’d climb up front. She nodded as he explained the workings of the Jeep. “Thank you, sir, it’s a wonderful vehicle.” she said, dipping her head for a moment. Again, she wondered...Shaking her head, she nodded at Shane. “Okay, sir.” she said, having no idea. In fact, Shane must not, could not, know either. Cara had no idea, but Jess must not speak of her either...She figured her sister despised her for leaving her behind.
