A Glorious Comeback (1x! with *Adashi*)

"There we go. C'mon." Rhys wrapped his arms around him and pet him gently, nuzzling into him afterwards and placing a kiss on his cheek.

"Shut. Up." Sasha hissed.

[Agent Maine(Meta)]

"Rude. I'm trying to help ya know." He grumbled, crossing his arms at his chest.

John rumbles with a few soft whines at first but it devolves quickly into purring as Amara finally get sup. "Maybe we should all just come out to the living room instead. We were coming by to drop off this joke gift we made ya but then that just kinda... Devolved." Amara suggested, making a gesture to fiona who's still got the gift basket.

"This has uh... gone downhill." Fiona stated, patting the gift basket.

"Yeah, that's a good idea. Jack, can you uh, go offline for a bit? Play video games or something?" Rhys suggested, looking at Jack.

"Yeah, will do. Anything to escape that death glare." Jack mumbled before vanishing from sight.

John rumbles softly, nuzzling against rhys a bit more before moving to finally trail towards the living room.

Rhys immediately sits John on the couch, getting settled beside him. "Okay. Obviously I owe everyone a uh, explanation." He said, not taking any longer before diving into what exactly happened to lead up to Jack still being with them.

John curls against rhys immediately, settling back down into a very, very light nap at the moment.

Amara sits back as she listens, cocking her head to the side slightly when it concluded. "So, basically you hesitated the first time and put it off, but then started thinking about it seriously when some alternate version of that thing and john showed up and now you think that thing can actually be good?" She questioned before snorting and laughing a bit at the idea.

"He's already gotten better." Rhys retorted. "He warned me when there was a listening device in my office and he's helping me track down the person who's trying to poison John."

"I still wouldn't trust it after everything it tried. I mean, remember what it did to tim? Vaughn says he's still waking up in a dissociative panic." Amara stated

"And? I was forced to watch him kill John, I had to rip off my own arm and rip out my own eye to get rid of him, I had to watch him kill Timothy, I watched him torture everyone I love just so he could get back at me, for something I did years ago, all to protect myself! I begged for him to stop and he never did! He refused!" Rhys snapped immediately, face heating up. "I decide what happens with him, okay? No one else!"

"Rhys." Sasha said, voice calm.
Rhys almost immediately dropped his shoulders and raised his hands to rub his face. "Oh god. I'm so sorry."

"And yet the proper thing to do would be to end its hold on you, perminently. Destroy the little bugger.Then it can't hurt you or anyone else ever again. And yet your keeping it alive and giving it a second chance all because some alternate version popped up and all?" Amara retorted.

John rumbles with the faintest of growls hearing rhys distress, carefully rolling onto his side, then lift a hand to gently take one of rhys hands and drag it to his stomach.
