A Glorious Comeback (1x! with *Adashi*)

Rhys eventually sits up entirely, rubbing at his cheeks to try and get his blush to fade. He chuckles to himself before crawling off Jack and sitting beside him, bringing his knees to his chest and resting his chin in between them, arms wrapping around them to keep them tight against himself.

"Awww, we were having fun rhys. Why'd ya have ta go and sit up?" Jack hummed playfully, smiling and chuckling softly as he rolled onto his side and propped his head up.

Rhys smiles and rolls his eyes, looking away. "'Cause. I was just thinking, and — I dunno. It doesn't matter." He says, shrugging and finally looking back at Jack. He places a hand on Jack's head and runs his hand through his hair, smiling down at him. "What? You want me to come back? Isn't that a little desperate?" He teases.

Jack huffs a bit. "Not desperate, just curious. And come on, don't leave me hangin here, what were ya thinking about pumpkin, i'm curious?" He hummed, even as he leans into the touch with a soft purr.

"The first time I showed up here." Rhys replies, looking away. His mechanical hand points to one of the now fixed platforms nearby. "Those were broken. I fell off and Sasha caught me. I thought I was gonna die." He chuckles, before pointing up to one of the nearby towers. "We were up there later on, turning off the defense systems. I had to hack into it, and all the spores in this place were after me. I — I got shocked by one, and... and fell." The corners of his mouth twitch, smile disappearing. "I hit my head so hard that I was knocked out instantly. It would've been funny if what happened after wasn't. Weird."

Jack makes a noise, seems to get the hint of what probably happened and thus was quick to roll over, get to his feet so to practically crawl forward until he was infront of rhys, thus sits up, then immediaely cups rhys cheeks. "Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey. Why don't ya not think about that. Ho about, instead, we play alittle game huh? My daughter use to love this game. Basically all ya do, is you match letters. So if we start with A, then it'd be something like, Active Atlas or something. And then we just go like that and see how fast we can get before we mess up or reach the end of the alphabet. Sound good?" He stated instantly so to derail rhys negative thoughts.

Rhys' eyes widen just a bit, almost overwhelmed with how quick Jack gets in front of him and begins talking to try and distract him. He stares at Jack, obviously confused, before very carefully placing his hands over Jack's and pulling them from his face. "Jack." He says, quietly, sounding more hurt than offended. "If I didn't want to talk about it, I wouldn't have brought it up. Really. You don't need to treat me like a ticking time bomb or something."

Jack makes a noise, tail hitting the ground a bit heavily. "When you tried a couple days ago while telling me how helios fell, you had a melt down practically. I know your trying and not a time bomb. What i'm trying to do, is keep you calm and focused so you don't freak out. So you can talk, but also have something to do when you feel overwhelmed." He answered with a soft chuckle as he turned his hands over so to take hold of rhys hands and run his thumbs over rhys knuckles.

"I know. It's just bits and pieces at a time, it helps — the full story all at once, is kinda a lot." Rhys mumbles, looking away with a frown. "I want to tell you what happened. Everything. It just feels like it might take a while, and on my own terms — I've told you I think the most important pieces so far, this is just, y'know, another one of the important pieces. For the full story. I won't tell you if you don't want to know."

"If you're willing to tell me, then i'm willing to listen. Doesn't matter if i don't want to hear about it. Because it helps you. So doesn't matter how slow of a pace you wanna go. I'm more then willing to sit here and listen. Especially since you entertain a lot of my old rambles after all." He answered with a soft chuckle, leaning forward a bit to press a light kiss to his forehead, then his cheek, then the corner of his lips before finally giving him a real kiss.
