thunderstrike's pelt rose, anticipating prickling her body. "what ambush?" she inquired, concerned and wary. instructing possumpaw closer to her seemed necessary, so she beckoned the apprentice to come closer. "keep your eyes and ears sharp possumpaw, know your surroundings."

whitedusk nodded in understanding. the fate of the kit rested heavily on his mind and he considerd starclan's message, but chose not to mention it to the queen. "it would be...a tragedy for her to loose her," he remarked, glancing at leopardpaw.

𝐋𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐏𝐀𝐖 : venombite + loudbreeze + jaykit + spiritkit
the once pretty molly flattened her ears against her head, baring her teeth at her mentor. "stay away from me, or starclan will hear you scream in your sleep." she growled, crouching low on the ground, tail flicking above her, as though she was ready to pounce. glancing back at loudbreeze, leopardpaw turned away. "i'm going to get something for spiritkit and jaykit." she told the molly. bounding off, leopardpaw quickly found a small rabbit and brought it back. "spiritkit, jaykit, here is some rabbit." settling down, she scooped both kits into her paws, nuzzling them softly, "hey, what had you always wanted your warrior names to be?" she asked, curiosity settling in her warm gaze.

the pretty tom yawned. "floatstar has chosen to mentor me!" he said, boasting slightly, puffing his chest out. as he searched fawnpaw's gaze for admiration, he felt content settle in his stomach. "let's take a nap together." he said suddenly, bumping fawnpaw across the rump with his chin, winking at her slyly.

jackdawflight took the kittens back and thanked the queen, sympathy in his gaze. "may starclan give him strength." before parting, he bidded the remaining cats farewell. slithering from the den, jackdawflight directed his many kittens towards the leader. "hello floatstar...i've been meaning to ask...have you heard the rumors of another clan encroaching on our territory?"

"gladly," possumpaw meowed quietly, staring daggers at the loner that followed.
"an ambush from where i lived, the cats who attacked me were not the same from the ambush and didn't carry the same scent, so do not worry," tilly explained quickly to the two mollies.

creekwhistle//whitedusk

"she's such a great help," creekwhistle meowed quietly, ears twitching and tail thumping the ground in annoyance and sadness. she stared as the two tom kits ran up to leopardpaw, squeaking in excitement for the rabbit.

jaykit/spiritkit//leopardpaw

the two squealed delightfully, and even though spiritkit was slow, his brother waited for him as the two sat down, biting gently onto the rabbit's pelt. spiritkit nuzzled leopardpaw back instantly at her question.
"i wanna be spiritnight!" the white kit mewled, "like pa."
"i want to be jay... uh.... jayleopard!" the light blue/grey kit squeaked, staring at leopardpaw, happy, before shoving his face back into the rabbit.

"that's great, lightningpaw!" the gentle molly purred, before pushing her paw against his face at his slyness that only brought amusement. "floatstar's apprentice? wanting to nap with a nobody? what a pushover," fawnpaw giggled, curling up in her nest. "but if you really want to."

the damp calico tom purred at the kits scrambling over their father's paws before gazing up at jackdawflight. "no i have not," he meowed, growing serious. "if something like that were to happen, or spread, i'd send out a patrol."

the pretty worried nodded her head to the strange cat. "ok, hurry."

the medicine cat hung his head, considering the options. starclan wouldn't help. there was nothing to be done but let time take it's the course.

leopardpaw stopped what she was doing and stared at the kit, shocked by the name choice. "j-jayleopard?" she recalled, quite caught off guard. her tail flicked around in surprise.

the handsome tom curled up beside the light pelted molly. his tail curled over his nose. "you'll be a good warrior...i guess." he mumbled softly into his thick tial.

the dark tom nodded at his leader. "i put my trust in you." with that, he set off towards the border, intent on bringing his kits with him.

"yeah," the kit hummed, "shows how strong i am, how light i am, and it shows that i am going to be as good as you, leopardpaw!" the tom-kit purred, rubbing against her legs.

the molly brought her brown paw down hard on his face, giving a sneaky hiss. "you bet i will. no guesses in this den." the cat curled up beside him, closing her eyes and sighing.

"wait," the leader mumbled, looking at his kits. "they can't go out. too young, you see? leave them with creekwhistle."

[ timeskip conducted ] by the time the three arrived to camp, thunderstrike's stomach growled viciously. it was then that she considered tilly would need to eat. glancing back at the loner, the molly observed her apprentice. possumpaw was diligent and careful. however, it didn't appear a pregnant loner was too much of a burden to their safety. none the less, the she-cat pushed through the entrance. the sun was beginning to set, a warm tangerine glow sliding across her bright pelt.

leopardpaw blushed softly at the compliment, admiriation shining in her gaze as she watched jaykit show off. there was no doubt in her mind that the kitten would grow up to be strong and noble. "you're already the bravest warrior around." she purred, nuzzling into his chest, a strong affectionate gesture.

"if you can outrun a storm fawnpaw, you'd have my respect." the tom remarked tiredly, however his commentary as sharp as bluebird in flight. "how about it? prove yourself, the next storm, chase it." a wilf gleaming spark shimmered in his shadowed gaze. "chase the storm, let it lead you."

jackdawflight's ears briefly pressed back against his skull, showing his disappointment. "fine, i'll teach them some moves." he snorted. with the setting sun on the horizon, splitting through the trees, jackdawflight admired the gleaming honey tone of his kit's small bodies.

the white kit whined, staring at his brother. "stop being a showoff!" the kit hissed, attempting to bat his brothers head, but failed to reach. he fell onto his chest with a squeak, and looked at leopardpaw. "what about me?"

"oh, your shelter is wonderful and thriving," the molly gave a shy purr, padding to stand beside thunderstrike. "they.. don't ambush outsiders, do they?" she gave a worried glance to some of the new curious cats.

"stop being a jerk," cackled fawnpaw, but she nodded her head sleepily, tail tapping the mossy nest quietly. "okay, whatever. storm chasing sounds fun anyway."

"no, they don't. unless you pose a threat." the molly replied rather coyly to the loner. having sent possumpaw off, thunderstrike assessed tilly. "you smell funny...are you ok?" she asked.

the young apprentice laughed softly at spiritkit. "you're the most energetic warrior i've since in my moons!" she exclaimed, flicking her tail in front of the pale bodied kit.

"just make sure you don't get fried by the lightning." the handsome tom sneered with clarity despite his tail hiding his face. the apprentice den began to grow darker.

"yay," spiritkit gave a bright smile, getting to his paws as the sun began to set. he gave a distressed squeak, running back to the nursery.

tilly//thunderstrike
tilly gave a polite laugh as she looked at the warrior. "so do you, but remember, i'm a loner, i never lived in these parts, but instead rather far, closer to where the sun sets. and i'm also expecting. expecting mollies do scent rather weirdly."

too tired to give him another bat she tensed her muscles, rolling her closed eyes and falling asleep

" come lay with me kits," she called softly, beaconing the litter to her warm body. "starclan will watch us from above." closing her eyes, leopardpaw fell asleep beside the two cats she adored most within the clan. her tail wound around them tightly, feeling their slow heartbeat against her body.
