the fluffy apprentice padded away, weaving around the retreating cats as she padded into the dens. she sniffed around in the dark until her nose touched a pile of rough, tiny seeds. she dragged her head away before touching two with her toes, putting them gently on a leaf and padding back to skybird. "just... lick them off."

the queen woke up to squealing kits. her kits. she hissed tiredly, before looking back onto leopardpaw. she quietly flicked her tail and rolled onto her paws. "morning, young ones," she purred.

the crimson pelted tom returned to strikeclan, heading directly for the medicine den where he knew he would find rosepaw sorting herbs or tasting them for freshness. prior to entering the musty den, the tom had deposited an item he found in the darkness of night and had brought it back with him, a peace offering to rosepaw. it was a crystal shard, a beautiful shade of blue with ragged edges. the color appealed to redpaw. lifting it into his mouth, he trotted into the den. dropping the crystal at rosepaw's paws, the apprentice gazed imploringly at her face to determine her reaction.


𝐓𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐊𝐄 : possumpaw
thunderstrike woke alone in the warrior den. she frowned softly, having encountered another dream where she thought floatstar had fallen asleep behind her. sighing disappointment, the molly rose to her feet, departing the den. her stomach growled, provoking her to approach the kill pile where she selected a juicy squirrel. "possumpaw!" she called.

𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐒𝐊 : closed

𝐒𝐊𝐘𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐃 : open
skybird woke with a renewed purpose. his muscles no longer ached nor protested. everything in the clan was returning to normal. now, alone in his den, skybird pondered the ten moons in his absence. what had changed and why? were the questions which were raised to his conscious. in due time, however, he considered floatstar would tell him.

𝐋𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐏𝐀𝐖 : kits + queens
leopardpaw woke to the mewling of spiritkit and jaykit. she glanced at creekwhistle before stretching and fetching a small mouse from the kill-pile for the kittens and a brown squirrel for creekwhistle. leopardpaw dug through the selection to find a small cricket and ate it in one gulp. "here you are kits, creekwhistle." she said, returning will the prey.

𝐉𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐃𝐀𝐖𝐅𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓. : kittens
the dark furred tom awoke to a pinching on his ear. with hazy eyesight, he could barley register sparkkit, cobrakit and viperkit. hornetkit was knawking on his ear. "hey!" he roared loudly, jerking away from his younger sister, "my ear is not your first meal of the day!" hornetkit seemed disatsfied with this and proceeded to gnaw on jackdawflight's paws insteade. "dear starclan!" the tom muttered into his paws.

𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐊 : creekwhistle
with the arrival of a new day, the dark tom joined his mate creekwhistle in the queen's den. truth be told, nightlock had been avoiding it due to the terrible stench which stained the very walls. greeting his pretty mate with a gently lick to her nose, nightlock settled beside her. "if you want to go to the stream today, i will watch jaykit and spiritkit." he offered.

"thank you ever so much, leopardpaw!" the queen exclaimed, purring as nightlock nestled in next to her. she called to her two sons, who scrambled over instantly, thanking the apprentice before dragging the mouse to pieces. creekwhistle then turned her head to her mate and sighed. "i would, but i think a certain tom needs some help," she looked over to jackdawflight, tail moving away from her stomach. "if they need a feed they're welcome," she called happily, turning back to the two cats.

the apprentice instantly jumped out of the den at the voice of her mentor. she dashed out, small body waddling over quickly. "morning, thunderstrike! what are we doing today?" (maybe if they went patrolling they could find tilly)

the molly turned her head to face redpaw. "y-" she cut herself off as she saw the crystal shard. her ears flicked, eyes becoming round. the white molly looked up at redpaw, panicked, before scrambling over to her mentor. "whitedusk, wake up. look what was found! is it a sign?" she meowed desperately.

if redpaw possessed a nerve for a surprise, now would be the appropriate time that it was struck. but he didn't, instead, he raised a brow at her frantic behavior. doubts swirled in his mind that approaching rosepaw at all was a bad idea. his emerald eyes never left her being.

𝐓𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐊𝐄 : possumpaw
thunderstrike smiled at possumpaw's loyalty and energy. "'let's spend the day outside possumpaw!" she said, tail flickering behind her. "grab something from the pile to bring with you, once we reach a good spot, we can have our meal."

𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐒𝐊 : rosepaw
whitedusk yowled painfully as rosepaw collided with his flank. he hissed at her, ears flattened momentarily before he growled at her for interrupting his slumber. "what?!" he snapped, irritated, his long tail lashing back and fourth. the bones strung around his neck rattled at his hissing.

𝐋𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐏𝐀𝐖 : kits + queens
leopardpaw smiled and ate her own meal, observing jaykit and spiritkit.

𝐉𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐃𝐀𝐖𝐅𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓. : kittens + creekwhistle.
"no, no!" he exclaimed, flicking his tail at the queen, "i will be fine. go to the stream and relax, we have apprentices for a reason creekwhistle." the dark tom reasoned, nodding his head to his own words, finding truth in the statement. "floatstar will summon me an apprentice later."

"now you have to go sweetheart," the tom cooed, nuzzling into her warm cheek. "go cool off, it's going to be hot."

gratefully, possumpaw picked up a mouse and weaved around thunderstrike. "i would love to rest near a pool, or something like that. it's hot."

"floatstar's tired," the mother scoffed playfully, grabbing her paw and pushing her mate's nose away. "i'll go if jackdawflight lets me feed his kits," she stared at the tom, "they won't grow if you dont give them milk, and they can't eat prey straight away like jaykit and spiritkit." she said stubbornly, glaring at the two toms.

whitedusk bit back a hostile retort. peering down at the presented crystal, he considered it with a narrowed gaze, both blue and green eye staring at the jagged features. "hmm," he exhaled, sitting back on his paws. "crystals' are formations from the liquids under extreme pressure and cooling..." his voice faded as he leaned closer. finally, whitedusk pressed his nose against the pale stone. the sensation was unlike any other and it was jarring.

jackdawflight hated to admit that the she-cat was right. he wanted to raise the kits on his own, it wasn't his fault his parents decided to leave. the arguement that sprang to his tongue was distasteful and he shook his head, banning the thought. "fine." he growled, his eyes glaring steadily at the queen. slowly, he opened his paws and the four kits tumbled forward, beginning to suckle.

the tom watched as his mate fought against jackdawflight and won. he smiled to himself, pleased that she was capable of handling her own.

the molly purred as the kits squirmed around her stomach before sticking her tongue out at the fostering cat. she nuzzled the kits together, tail flicking as it secured the four. "as much as you can, little ones." she meowed before beginning to eat her squirrel.

the older molly dragged herself into the nursery with a grunt. "come on, leopardpaw," she meowed numbly, thick tail slapping the floor in annoyance. she stared at the three other older cats. "you're soon to be a warrior, you shouldn't be spending all day with these cats." and she turned and padded away, towards the entrance, dipping her head to possumpaw and lightningstrike
