"She got bored of the duke and now flirts with Gale every time he leaves Ilaria for even a moment. I dont like her flirting with me brother." She sighed and stood up. "If you dont want to try that is fine. I just figured i would offer. You can give her back now."

Abel gritted his teeth. "Already, huh?" He set his hand on her shoulder. "She can stay here. She's asleep."

"Will you take her home tomorrow and not be a creep tonight?" She said, a warning in her tone.

Abel rolled his eyes. "Of course. I'm just going to rest, don't worry," he muttered, a bit irritated that she felt the need to warn him. "And I'll take your offer. To help me win her over."

"Good. First focus on fixing yourself. Im not going to help trick her into entering another abusive relationship." She sighed a d brushed her hair out of her face. "Goodnight Abel." She turned and left his house, heading home.

"Got it," Abel muttered. "Goodnight." He lied down beside Eloise, settling with her held close to him and falling asleep.

The next morning Eloise woke up with a splitting headache. She could remember pieces of what had happened causing her stomach to churn even more and to sink deeper into the embrace around her. It felt safe and warm and the familar scent that filled her nose made her want to fall back asleep.

Abel hummed happily, holding her close as he relaxed with her. He didn't want to open his eyes or move, afraid that if he did she'd realize what was going on and leave. So he enjoyed holding her while he could, pretending for a moment that she was his.

Eloise kept her eyes closed, listening cto Abel's humming as she held him. "Thank you for saving us, Abel." She whispered when he paused.

"It's no problem. I wouldn't let anything happen to you like that, or Fleur." Abel ran his hand over her back. "Try not to go back there again, alright?"
