"Okay," he whispered, closing his eyes and leaning into her touch. He sighed, resting his hands in her waist. He missed her.
"Delphine?" Nadia's voice came from the bedroom, worried and frightened. Had she left her? She shakily sat up, thinking that she had heard voices in the bathroom.
Callias went into the bedroom when he heard her voice, and his heart ached as he saw how frightened she was until she saw him. She looked so relieved, her eyes tearing up and she reached for him. He sat on the bed with her, gently pulling her into his arms and burying his face in her hair. She sobbed into his chest, her hands gripping his shirt as her voice came out muffled. "I thought you were dead! I..." Callias gently murmured to her, rubbing her back as he comforted her. Nadia hadn't thought that she was in love with Callias the other day, but maybe she was. She hadn't known how much she loved and needed him until something had happened.
