Callias gratefully let her tend to his cheek. He hadn't really known what he was doing. "They do," he murmured. "But I want them to focus their attention on Lucien. He's injured, but I think he will get better." His jaw was tight as he spoke, but then leaned back against the sink tiredly, exhaling and relaxing a bit. "Thank you for your assistance today. I appreciate it very much."

"I didnt do it for you. I did it for her." She muttered, but it was hard being angry at him all of the time, especially now. Once she was done she gently stroked his cheek, meeting his eyes. "I miss you Callias. I don't like you getting hurt." She sighed and stepped back from him. "You should be with him. Once you and Nadia get married I doubt I will be able to force him to come visit you any more. It will hurt him too much."

"I figured that. But still. Thank you." He gazed softly at her, gently pressing his cheek into her touch. "I miss you too," he murmured. "I'll be sending him home once he's better. It's not safe for him here. I don't want to risk him getting hurt again."

Delphine stayed silent for a moment, debating saying anything. Carefully she moved close to him, her hand resting on his cheek as she kissed the corner of his mouth. "What do you want callias? If you could have anythibg in the world right now, what would it be?"

Callias slid a hand into her hair, tilting his head towards her and softly kissing her cheek. "I don't know," he admitted. "I don't know."

Delphine sighed sadly. Her heart broke for Lucien as she felt Nadia slipping through her fingers. She didn't pull away from Callias, having missed his embrace. "Fine then. If you really are done with him then ill marry him. At least that way he wont be alone and with have someone to care about him. Besides, he could be a good influence for me."

Callias stiffened, pulling away from Delphine enough to look at her. "No." His jaw clenched tightly. "I..." He didn't want anyone but him to have Lucien. He was his.

"No Callias. You cant keep hurting him." She stepped back and crossed her arms. "He will never say a word against you for marrying Nadia but i will. That man loves you more than anyone else ever will. He lords over those letters and refuses to go anywhere without one. I swear he can probably recite every one of those lies, and yes they are lies because i doubt you meant a word of it. I tried to set him up with someone else but he is bored of him saying all he is good for is a pretty face and he is afriad to bed him for fear he would fall asleep halfway through." She paused. She didnt want to yell at him or be cruel. Everyone was hurting too much for that. "Lucien loves you but if you dont love him back you need to be honest about that with him. If you propose to Nadia I will have Lucien marry me so that he can get a title and try to work to be an ambassador again. He has run out of money with the gifts he got all of us being the last of what he had. He stayed here hoping you would change your mind about not wanting him so just tell him officially its over so that he can move on. I promise ill take care of him. You just need to make a choice and let go."

Callias bit his lip to keep it from trembling. "Delphine, I can't... I want to be with him. But I can't, because Nadia... How is that supposed to work, Delphine? I.." He ran his fingers through his hair, nervous and stressed. He didn't want Delphine to marry Lucien. But he couldn't just toss Nadia aside.

Delphine held his face in her hands. "Speak with her. See what you both would be happy with. I dont know what the right answer is, all i know is what ive seen from Lucien and i know he misses you." She kissed his forehead. "Please, talk to her and be honest about what you both want."
