Liam gently squeezed her hand, letting the maid lead them upstairs and to their room. The maid opened the door and Liam walked in, leading Alessa with him. The maid left them standing in a large room with two beds and large windows, it was quite a pretty room.
Alessa looked a bit defeated as she sat on her bed with Scarlett in her paws. She lowered her head and looked at the floor. "I'm sorry I got you into this mess..." she murmured, "My family isn't... right."
Liam walked over and sat beside her, wrapping his arms around her “it’s okay.” He whispered “I’d rather be here with you than you be alone.” He said softly and laid his head on her shoulder, looking at the wall in front of them “we’ll get away from here, I promise.”
Alessa tried her best to stop crying. "I-I'd be okay on my own... I always was." she whispered. She, of course, meant before being moved to the orphanage. She then looked at Liam. "How?" she whispered, "This place is huge. I-I'm not even sure how long we were driving for."
Liam nodded and held her “well now you’re better off with me.” He said softly, gently running his fingers through her hair “I’ll figure something out.” He told her “I promise.” He added then sighed softly “should I tell someone that you need to have blood drawn?” He asked softly, not sure why she had to get her blood drawn every morning, he just knew it was important.
Alessa felt a cold chill down her spine when he mentioned her blood draws. The only reason she didn't fight Mary was because she was gentle and didn't restrain her in any way. "I... I d-don't know." she whispered, fear in her voice.
Liam nodded and gently grabbed her paw “don’t you really need that to be done?” He asked softly, looking at her and tilting his head ever so slightly “I know Mary did it every morning so it must be important, right?” He asked softly.
Alessa felt sick to her stomach as she knew Liam was right. "B-but..." she whimpered, "W-what if the nurse he picks isn't nice? I-I don't want to feel that pain every day." Alessa knew things would go badly if she felt scared or threatened.
Liam smiled at her and gently squeezed her paw “I’m sure he’d try to get the nicest nurse.” He whispered “I don’t know why, but I feel like he really cares about you and doesn’t really know how to show you.” He added then looked away “but that’s just what I think.”
