As the hostess shook her head and observing her current behavioral patterns, she might be telling the truth. But there is a possibility she's lying to him in order to avoid any revelation of this being a ghoul's area. Since he decided to avoid causing a scene, he simply nodded, thanked her and headed back to his table. This café is clearly suspicious, and next time he has to keep an very close eye on the cafe's surroundings. he should probably go and check all news articles related to Hazard Hare and other seventeenth ward's ghouls. If he gets anything like some of the ghouls killed people near the café, he swore that he'll practically start a raid here.

" Wait. Aren't you the same girl I met at the bar? " initially ignoring her question, that was the first thing he said to her. Seriously, this is just a mere coincidence! There's nothing wrong with it. It happens everytime " And no, this is just a mere coincidence " he said in a calm tone, as if this was not a big deal. He was too tired to argue to justify what is the truth, in other words he wanted to talk out things in a polite manner. She pretty much came and sat with him without his permission, not that he's complaining nor he was bothered about it. The only thing bothering him about her is her behavior. She clearly jumps into conclusions and points a finger without any evidence whatsoever. At her comment, he nodded as in agreement " I saw that, I only came here to have a cup of coffee and continue my investigation. " to be honest, he doesn't know why is he even telling this to a stranger, and a weird one at that.

Etsuko listened to his reasoning, although there was not much of it . Her stomach churned silently as she picked at the sandwich . "What are you investigating ?" She asked casually, looking from her "food" to the investigator . She glanced quickly at his brief case, something every ghoul knew the contents of . She didn't think the general public knew too much about the CCG's procedures . She eyed the investigator expectantly, hoping he would give her insight onto what he was doing . Why he was here .

After a few seconds she decided to look fully look at the briefcase, maybe she could make a small scene towards him to see if he'll tell her anything . "OH ! Are you part of the CCG ?" She stammered excitedly, although it was feigned, "I always wanted to be an investigator- ever sense I was a little girl !" Her eyes looked bright and strangely warm for the cool color, a striking difference from the chilled, unwelcoming look they had beforehand . She stood up quickly and leaned over the table, "You must be so cool ! To be able to be an investigator !" She then let out a long sign and sat back down, almost defeated "Life didn't go so right for me though, so I never made it on the right path to make it to be a investigator" She then faked a half-hearted smile and said "I've always admired people who did good and helped others ." She silently looked at the white haired man, her foot tapping the ground excitedly .

He didn't answer to her question, and instead took a sip from his cup. He wasn't really planning to tell everything about his mission to her. After all, she's just an mere stranger having a small chat with him. But since his mission is a threat to seventeenth ward, he might think about it; whether he should tell her or not. But she seems one of those annoyingly persistent people, so he doesn't have a choice but to answer her question; but after her rambling.

He was surprised by her sudden interest in his work. Didn't she heard his conversation with the hostess? She wouldn't be to blame if she was seated away from the counter. But it's certainly strange that she doesn't know about him, despite his presence is generally feared by ghouls " I see. . .though, I admire your passion. " he said in acknowledgement. When he first came here, he didn't reflect even a bit interest in the work. At first impression, most of his colleagues assumed he won't have a promising future. But hey– you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. When his physical skills were tested, after a long time, they were terrified by his sharp-shooting skills and speed. Though, he admits himself that you expect an insomniac to be actually skilled in firearms and blades. Surprise flashed in Etsuko's eyes, he was hunting her ? She frowned slightly, well, that wasn't very pleasant . "I don't think you'll find her in this cafe," she spoke to mislead, "This is a family run cafe and they are very thorough with their hiring process, I should know !" She leaned back in her chair, causing its front legs to lift up a bit before she leaned forward again . "Isn't she a ghoul rising up in the classes dangerously ?" She whispered suddenly, staring him in the eyes "I heard she has been attacking other ghouls ." Her eyes were firmly focused on the man in front of her, searching for any sort of expression . He seemed to be a stoic man, and definitely a man she wanted to get close to . Especially if he was hunting her . She took the last bite of her sandwich, cringing internally . She knew she would have to purge the contents of her stomach soon, but for the sake of looking human she hid her disgust .

She took a sip of her coffee to wash down the nasty taste of human food out of her mouth . Looking outside, she noticed it was getting fairly dark out . It would be time for her to go home soon and feed her cat . Well- it wasn't really her cat to be completely honest . It was a stray that she left food and water out on her balcony for . It was a little white cat with bright green eyes . A pretty little thing . Etsy called it Powder, short for Powdered Doughnut . Standing up, Etsuko turned and said "Well, it's time for me to take my leave, it was pleasant talking with you" She tossed a smile over her shoulder before heading out of the cafe . She walked down the sidewalk, the sky lit ablaze with oranges and purples . She wobbled every now and then, still not as sober as she would be in the morning . She already dreaded the hangover she would have .

Hunting was out of the option for tonight, even though she was very hungry . She was drunk and an investigator was keeping an eye on her hunting habits . It was bound to happen, she just didn't think one would stop by her place of work . Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she finally made it to her apartment . Etsuko pulled out her keys, unlocking her door and throwing it open . She flicked the lights on and strolled into the kitchen, grabbing a can of cat food from inside the cupboards . She opened the lid and walked to her balcony, dumping the contents of the can into a plastic bowl . She then walked over to her couch and plopped down face first into it, sprawling out and relaxing .
