Name. Amelia May Gilpatrick
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Birthdate: April 10th

Personality: Amelia is a wonder to others. Her quiet and polite state around her Father is quite different from her flirtatious remarks and curiously she had grown over the years. She enjoys the stories her Father always told her and because of how hidden she was from the others, she seemed to have never grown up mentally. She still saw the world as a game. She enjoyed to see it that way, for it was the only way she could distract herself from what her Father had been hiding and keeping from the others. She is obedient and careful, her words not making sense at most times for she wasn’t well educated but she did have a sense when things weren’t right.

Body Type: Amelia is a well built woman. One of the reasons her Father wanted her hiden from the crew of men was being of this factor. Her body wasn’t perfect-obviously-but she had a broad chest and smaller waist. Hips that rounded down to her thighs that made her look hourglass like st certain angles. But was most interesting was her skin. It was tan from the sun but she had freckles along her body which were darker than her skin tone, making her look more defined in the light. Her bright brown eyes and long locks were definitely her special areas. She also had full lips that were soft and supple.

History: As mentioned in your history, Amelia practically grew up on the ship. She had spent most her young life in the kitchen working with her Mother and learning the small things as of how to crack an egg or wash the bowls when the crew had finished eating or giving out food so the crew could eat. Back then she was much more social. She would give hugs to the crew members and would usually beg them to tell all the stories they had made up for her. Her large eyes and small figure usually made the crew melt for her. She was innocent and petitie, making the crew feel guilty if they hadn’t done what she asked.

Once her Mother died, Amelia was unaware. She hadn’t known what death was until that tragic day. She had been in denial for hours until she finally came to her Father and stayed with him; not shedding a single tear and she hadn’t once sense that day. Not about her Mother. She had been so close to her but being ripped from her in such a way made her have a loss of hope. She loved her Father but never did she feel as close to him as she had her Mother.

Years passed and the crew watched the small petite girl blossom. From 5 to 10 to 15 years of age, she was still the same girl, eager for stories she knew weren’t real and ready to laugh if there was a small hidden joke she didn’t quite catch until a few minutes after. It’s how she grew up and how she’d probably stay. But once her condition started to get worse, something she had been denying most for years, she began to hide more, and her Father supported this.

Name: Lincoln Loyd Quillsmith
Age: 28
Birthdate: February 8th

Personality: Lincoln (mostly referred as Loyd) is a protective man. He is one of the longest crew members and had always kept loyal to his captain and his family. He is a respectable engineer and usually repairs the damaged areas of the ship. He is also the one who watches over Amelia when her Father is busy. They are quite close when it comes to friendship. He is a big brother to Amelia and Loyd feels the same way to her.

Body Type: Thin, muscular, built to carry heavy items and can easily run miles on end. He isn’t the best swimmer sense his muscle weight holds him down. He has Blonde hair. His eyes are green and his skin is rather pale. He burns more than he tans so he stays wary of the sun. Broad shoulders and is about 5’10”.

History: Hidden.

Sounds good! :3 Take your time!

Name: Captain Luther Gilpatrick
Gender: Male
Age: 36

Personality: Luther is dedicated to his ship, his crew, and his daughter. He is a deeply loyal and honest man, with a lot of respect for those who do the most work, even if it isn't the most glamorous. If he describes someone as being dependable, you know that means he admires them greatly, as he finds no trait more worthy of being prized.

History: Luther was born in Ireland and spent most of childhood and adolescence there. His parents, ship-builders, had seven children only four of which (including Luther) lived to see the age of fifteen.

He met his wife, Mary, when he was eighteen (she nineteen) and it did not take long for him to fall madly in love. They had a whirlwind romance and married not four months after they met. They found out Mary was pregnant five months later. At this time, Luther worked mostly at the docks, patching holes in the hulls of ships. However, a pirate captain saw Luther and admired his strength and skill. He was offered a job and the pay was significant enough that he accepted on the spot. Three days later, four sailors came knocking on the door and Luther left with them, promising Mary he'd be home in time to see their child born. Four months later, Luther raced home, and indeed was there in time to see his daughter born. They named her Amelia after Mary's grandmother.

Unfortunately, Luther's new captain wanted to keep his crew members near the ships. And, if possible, on them. So Luther sweet-talked his wife into joining him on board. Though not every sailor was pleased with a woman (technically two, considering his daughter) being on the ship, they were glad to have good meals. Mary ended up becoming the cook for the ship, displacing the previous cook, though this upset no one but the now out-of-work cook himself.

Through years of service, Luther worked up through the ranks, gaining the trust of the sailors and the captain. Eventually, he became the second-in-command. Once he was up that high, he realized the errors in the leadership of his captain. When he questioned the captain he was shut down, and so anger began to rise in him. Seeing his anger, many crew members rallied to his side. The next time an election was held, Luther was voted as captain. The former captain disappeared several months later. No one knows what happened to him.

Mary died when Amelia was five and Luther dedicated himself to raising his daughter properly. Perhaps he's a bit overprotective, but he only wants to keep her safe. There are, after all, many secrets on a ship like The Circe.

Name: James Jonesboro
Gender: Male
Age: 19

Personality: James is confident and bold, willing to take risks to get the best pay out, and this includes being ready to lay down his life for those he loves. He is deeply passionate, and when he wants something, you can be sure he'll get it or die trying. He feels connected to the ship and often notices problems with the ship before anyone else.

History: Let's leave this a mystery for now.

Luther leaned back in his chair, running his fingers over the maps he kept on his desk. He pulled out one, close to the end of the stack, and lined it up with the map currently splayed out across his desk. Using his drawing compass he matched a straight line from their first port in Spain, which they had left nearly a month ago, and their next port in the French-owned Caribbean, which was still at least a week away, if not longer. Nonetheless, they were running ahead of schedule, if his calculations were correct. He'd have to have the pilot run over the equations. Mathematics had never been his strong suit.

He rose from his desk and strode out of his cabin, out onto the deck. The warm sunlight hit his face and he squinted to keep his eyes from watering. Not a cloud in the sky. He walked across the deck of The Circe, humming. He rapped on the wood of both of the masts - for good luck - as he passed. He swept his gaze upwards to check the sails. One of the topsails would need to be replaced once the brigantine was in port, he decided. Several men dipped their heads at him as he passed. He gave them a little wave or a half-nod, just to aknowledge that he had seen them. Two men were adjusting the rigging to match with the faint winds. Luther paused to offer his assistance, but they assured their captain they had everything under control, and so he continued on to the helm on the top deck.

Amelia was down in the bunks when she could hear her Father’s swift steps above. The wood planks creaked and when she heard speaking she turned to look at the stairs that lead down to the bunks. She was washing her clothing, preferring to do it herself instead of letting a sailor do the job. It was her hobby almost. Instead of collecting shells or trinkets or anything shimmery, She proffered to wash the clothing. There was no specific strange reason why. Her Mother had taught her years in the past and ever sense then she enjoyed smelling the fresh clothing once it was clean. She also enjoyed folding them into odd shapes, amusing the sailors. She liked to try and make them happy, just like her Father had always done. But now she couldn’t see them as much as she would.

The bunks were empty. Most of the crew were working on deck or were cleaning and repairing small items that could be done by hand. Amelia felt safe below because if she pressed her head to the floor, she could almost feel the vibrations of the water below. Here and there she could also hear a whale calling for its calf if it were close enough.

But today was not such a lucky day. The bunks were hot and she felt sweaty and gross. She finally decided to go up on deck so she rose from her seating position (a barrel most likely) and she made her way over to the steps carefully. She hated the sound they made when stepped on. It felt as if they were going to crumble below her and she’d fall into the ocean. She didn’t feel like being crushed.

Luther saw his daughter appear from below deck. Even as he spoke with the pilot, he had an instinctive desire to keep one eye on Amelia. He trusted her not to do anything foolish, but not the men. No matter how good they might seem, a sailor is still a sailor, after all, and the sea can get lonely. Not even Luther himself was immune to that. He often sought comfort in the port cities from barmaids and widows and tired housewives, any woman who wanted to share a drink - or perhaps the night. But, as Luther knew his own flaws, he became acutely aware of them in his sailors. Very few of them could go near Amelia without being watched by his piercing eyes. When the light hit her just right, she looked quite like her mother had. Oh, Mary, have I done right by her? A voice in his head asked.

Once the pilot confirmed his questions, Luther headed back to the lower deck, "Good morning, Amelia." He greeted, his already heavy Irish accent growing deeper with fondness.

From his spot in the rigging, where he had been sent to check the fastenings of the sails , to assure they had not been loosened after the previous night's rough winds, James could see the entire ship. Dozens of feet below, Circe cleaved through the ocean. She was a fine ship, still new to the young sailor, but familiar enough in her size and shape. His old ship, The Queen of Sheba had been a brigantine as well. He was high up enough that very few voices from below could be heard, the wind whistling in his ears. He paused in his work to lift his head higher, sucking in a breath of the pure air, let the wind ruffle his hair. Once he was sated, he turned back to the mast and his work.

Amelia looked to her Father with a grin tugging at her lips. His accent always made her feel a rush of joy spread throughout her body. She grew up with the soft and caring voice but never did she catch onto it herself. Being around the sailors and her Mother when young gave her the time to catch onto the less strong accent, but certain words she’d still pronounce like her father would.

“Good morning, Father. Did you sleep alright?” She asked politely, placing her hands behind her back and keeping her posture straight but when she usually got in deep conversation, her hips would swing back and forth and she’d usually move on her heel, bending her back over to listen more closely. Just like a curious young girl would do.

She felt the breeze brush her hair along her cheek so she ran her hand through it so her curls wouldn’t get in her face. When she looked up she could see a figure of a man and it made her grow curious of him. His body posture was different so she could tell he hadn’t been on the ship for long.

"I slept well, thank you for asking. What about you? Nothing but sweet dreams, I hope?" Luther smiled, thinking nothing of the way his daughter looked around. He knew she was a naturally curious girl, always taking in new things, thinking, wondering. He was pleased to see she had grown to have the mind of a scholar, even though he was never able to stay on shore long enough to see her through school. Perhaps she would never be the best reader or writer or mathematician, but she would always be glad to learn, and that was more than enough. Luther had never been much of a student himself, only learning enough to get by. Mary had loved to read, though. He still kept a few of her books in his desk drawer - thin volumes of poetry, a pocket-sized devotional, a dime-store novel that he remembered her admitting was absolutly terrible, but she still read anyway, since they couldn't afford anything else at the time. Amelia had bits from each of their minds, and Luther was very glad of that.

James reached the last fastener and realized it had come a bit loose. He checked his footing to be sure he wouldn't slip, and cautiously released the rigging in each of his hands so he could adjust the fasteniner. He tugged it twice sharply to get it back into place, then shook it back and forth to make sure it would hold. He couldn't replicate strong gales, but he trusted it would stay put. He grabbed back onto the rigging with one hand and began to make his way back to the safety of the deck. He wished he could've stayed at the top of the mast for longer, but he knew there was more work to be done: pistols to polish, muskets to clean, and whatever else anyone asked of him.

Once he was on the deck again, he caught sight of a girl speaking with the captain. He had been told that the captain had a daughter, and warned by several men to steer clear of her, and this must have been the girl. Neither she nor her father seemed to be especially frightening.

Amelia raised a brow and shook her head. “Ahhh not exactly a sweet dream. But a very interesting one indeed... ah.” She looked away from the man once they made eye contact and she focused on her Father. “Do you have any task for me?” She asked with a half focused gaze now sense she would glance to the sailor here and there. Usually she was allowed to meet the new sailors and was properly introduced but she hadn’t even known about this one. They had been off on seas for a week, too.

Though once she thought about it, she did realize that she was usually busy; doing tasks her Father asked for to keep her busy or she’d go and be in her own little world, keeping silent and trapping herself in her own thoughts. If neither of these things were done... that usually means she is probably taking a nap instead. And they vary-from one hour to ten. She isn’t one to usually sleep so naps were how she went during the day. She is a night owl. She enjoys doing her tasks then, and she felt more comfortable watching over. It made her feel as if she were important. She was also wary there would be an attack. So she wanted to make sure everyone would be safe. Just a paranoia she had. “Father.” She started before looking to the sailor. “You never mentioned a new sailor. How come?”

Luther expected a description of Amelia's dream, but it quickly became clear to him that, more than just looking around at everything, Amelia had noticed one thing in particular. He followed his daughter's gaze and found James. He was still a bit uncertain of the new sailor, in truth. He remembered seeing the boy when he was with his old crew. He had seemed a bit roughish. Of course he'd draw Amelia's eye - she knew nothing about him. Curiosity was a blessing and a curse, "It never came up," He said, which wasn't entirely a lie. He didn't want to talk about the new sailor, but if Amelia had brought him up earlier, he would have. So, maybe he had distracted her a little to keep her away from the new man, but he had never had a sailor on board the ship so close in age to his daughter. It filled him with a new kind of fear he had never had to face before. Mary would have calmed him, surely, had she been there to do it, "I'll introduce the two of you, if you like," His voice was tight, but not cold or harsh. He didn't want Amelia to think he was being possessive of her, "He's only a laborer at the moment, but perhaps something can be made of him. His former captain spoke very highly of him." He forced a smile.

* - * - *

James realized that both the Captain and his daughter had noticed him. He felt his whole body grow hot all at once and he turned back to his work partners, hoping they would pull him away to work on something else, hopefully something below deck, to put as much distance between himself and them. Not that that would stop the Captain if he wanted him. Had he already done something wrong? Captain Brill had never mentioned if Captain Gilpatrick was a stickler for rules or anything of that sort, but then, he had never asked.
