uptight, arrogant and far too confident for their own good is muse a, the crown princess- heir to her parents throne. she has been raised with a silk wrapped silver-spoon in her mouth, jewels and extravagant clothing that your average woman could only dream of- given to her on a regular basis. though, she has always been extremely selfish. selfish in such a way that she herself just cant see how often she hurts others. so, she decides to run away from the palace- her reason behind doing such a thing petty and simple. whilst running, she stumbles upon a giant ditch- unfortunately slipping into it and falling down the rabbithole in an alice and wonderland esque way... but, where is she?! muse b is a simple-minded worker. all she was ever raised to know was authority, and work. she has no free time in her life to worry about other things, such as fun or anything of the likes. in fact, her life revolves around working- all to earn a few silver coins each month, just enough to scrape by. her life is not one she ever dreamed of. but, in such an age where the poor often perished to starvation- she never had much room to dream. so, when she finds an absolutely livid looking woman- dressed in odd clothing, banging on her front door, she's quite puzzled, and even taken aback. after a bit of discussion, muse b decides to let muse a hang around her hutch for a little while, just until she worked out how to go about things. and until then- muse a would live there in exchange for work. what could possibly go wrong, right?

[♕ ─ • fanling - lethal soul,, )

─ princess jiang fan ling. her name means lethal soul, which is a pretty fitting name for this fiery gal. she often goes by fanfan when it comes to her friends or direct family, but otherwise- if she was to be called any other nickname, its very well likely she'd beat someone up.
─ 22 years old. having been a child-star, fanling was raised under the eyes of others, which is a reason out of a handful why she has been so successful in the acting industry. that, and the fact that she is the first born princess and king and queen jiang.
─ truthfully, fanling doesnt care too much about her sexuality. she's likely homosexual, though that thought hasnt really crossed her mind.
    ─ five-foot tall.
─ the first born daughter of the king and queen. she has no other sisters, but she does have a younger brother whom is ten years old- and already five times more mature then she herself is...
─ due to her fame and current wealth, fanling often acts upon impulse. if she sees something she wants- she'll often just take it, without any hesitation whatsoever. that usually leads to her workers having to quickly pay for the item as she walks off. now, if she was to do that in an ancient world- it is very likely someone will try to behead her, or something.
─ overconfident- fanling has a faith in herself that she really ought to have in others. whether it shines when she's hyping herself up to do something dumb, or even in the way she walks- fan has a certain bold, dignified look to her. in a way she can come off as quite intimidating and forward.
─ in general, fanfan expects a certain standard of living- having grown accustom to living in large houses with beautiful, antique furniture. so, she probably wont survive too well in a world where the poor are more common then the wealthy.
─ often carries a satchel filled with some emergency jewelry with her, just in case she loses an earring- or something. not her most prized jewels, but theyre still definitely worth something.

"stop her!" a loud shriek echoed throughout the courtyard as numerous palace workers thundered after a figure dressed in a black coat, a sack of jewels hanging by her waist. her feet were working quickly, eating up the perfectly smooth ground as she threw herself forwards at the fasted pace she could. perhaps it was fated, but the darkly-cloaked girl found herself drawn to the forest working as a shield for the palace. something about it was calling for her, the void lowly whispering out her name, the whispers lightly caressing her ears. fanling... fanling.. follow my voice... it was either that, or face the music back at the palace where she'd be scolded for daring to paint whilst in a very, very expensive white dress. and in her attempts to escape- cloaked in black and everything, someone had spotted her. which was exactly why a good handful of workers were chasing after poor, unfortunate - though deserving, princess fanling. tree branches tore at her ashen flesh, scraping her thighs until blood had been drawn. yet, her stride remained steady. in the far distance the voices of her close maids called as they attempted to search for her. now, fanling wasnt exactly certain when she'd actually return to the palace and face her punishment like a woman instead of a teenager. but, that was a problem for her future self. for now all she had to focus on was escaping! and so that is exactly what she did. weaving and ducking between branches and trees, the lithe female tried to keep a steady pace- though, by now her lungs were beginning to burn, sides aching with each passing heave of a breath. but, suddenly fanling felt as though she had fallen into air. with her ankle rolling, the brunet found herself tumbling down a giant ditch, her mouth opening with a scream. a scream that uttered not a single sound. just a mere silent whisper mingling with the gentle breeze. that was, until her head knocked against the side of the ditch, resulting in darkness.... disoriented, jiang fanling found herself awakening to afternoon sunlight piercing her eyes- mud slathering her white dress brown, and her black hood even darker. a few steps ahead of her was an unfamiliar hutch, one that looked fairly run-down... blinking her blurry, painful vision, fanling scrambled to her feet, taking a few clumsy steps forwards until she leaned against the hutch's door. sticky, drying blood stung the left side of her head - likely caused by the hit she had suffered. "hello?" lightly called the brunet, her fists roughly banging against the hutch's door.

    wu bao zhao
xxx"bao zhao! wake up, your late!" her mother began to screech as she saw that her daughter was still asleep on her straw bed. bao zhao was so startled that she rolled off of her bed and onto the hard dirt floor of their small hut with an oof. pieces of straw were sticking out of her straight black hair, which was currently pulled up in a bun to keep it protected. "i-i'm sorry mother," she said as she picked herself up off of the ground. "well, what are you waiting for, girl? go!" her mother said anxiously. bao knew that her mother was really just worried for her and nervous, even if she sounded angry and harsh. she quickly walked to their mirror, pulled the straw out of her hair and let it fly loose. she patted the dirt off of her dress and put on her shoes, running out of the door. this was her one day to make a good impression on the women from a nearby village who were offering her a job to spin silk. sure, it wasn't going to pay her a lot, but her parents were poor farmers, anything was better then starving because they had no money left. most of the time they couldn't even sell their crops because their land's soil was poor and only made enough food for their small family of three. bao did have an older brother but he no longer lived with them. her mother and father had used all of the saved money to pay for schooling for her older brother and now he was working as a scribe. bao knew that he sometimes sent them some money but guessed that he must also be struggling to live off of a larger, but still just a bit too small, payment. at least he will move up in his job and be able to make more money, she thought, letting out a huff. she would never be able to get a good job, she just need to marry a wealthy man.

      __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

xxxher meeting had gone great! it seemed that the village women would be interested in having her fill their empty spot as a silk spinner. bao was practically skipping the whole way home. she walked off of the dirt path and to her small hut. she opened the door and immediately called out, "mother! i have great news." however, she got no response. she must have gone to the market, bao thought. usually her mother was able to get some left over produce from the venders. she was beginning to take off her shoes at the door when she heard a knock behind her. she opened the door, no even looking to see who it was at first. "mother! the village women- oh my!" bao gasped as she looked down and saw an oddly dress women covered in mud with dry blood on the side of her head. "are you alright?" she asked, running to help her.

a sense of dizziness had overcome jiang fanling, her body feeling weaker then it had ever before. but, that didnt stop her from looking down in her once white dress in nothing but disgust. "where is this... place?" drawled the said woman, her tongue feeling like a dead-weight in her mouth. when she had turned her attention towards the young woman standing in front of her. she was dressed in an old looking dress, one that- in a way, was nearly similar to the one fanling herself wore. of course it wasnt coated in mud, but it seemed to have a cheaper design. well, she seemed to be living in a hutch... that could only mean one thing. fanling had ventured further from the castle then she had first anticipated. it seemed she had stumbled upon a pretty.. poor environment. something she was not used to seeing. rubbing the side of her head, the brunette let out a sharp hiss as her fingers passed over something- a large, dried gash. and a deep one at that. "ow..." now that she thought about it, she had fallen down a ditch... but, how did she end up back out of it? nothing seemed to be making sense, and it only made her head hurt more... dammit! why did she even go running into the forest in the first place? now her pretty dress- and face was ruined, covered in a paste of mud and blood! life had shown her no mercy... usually in this situation, she'd try to call her closest maid- fenhua, but for some reason, fanling doubted anything would come out of that... she seriously doubted. stifling one last groan, the princess instinctively moved her hands to the satchel hanging by her side. as she unzipped the bag, the contents had revealed themselves. her less-expensive jewelry that she often carried with her in case of emergencies... and, maybe they'd come in handy? "why am i here?" dumbly voiced fenling, eyebrows creased together in confusion.
