"SwiftClan better watch out if they think they can just start sending hunting parties on StormClan territory." Lionheart growled. His voice was fairly quiet though. He didn't want Greystar to hear him and risk having the leader do something like try to accuse the warrior of looking to start a clan war. "It is urgent news." Lionheart added on to what Softwing had said, this time speaking much more loudly.

Greystar held a low growl in his voice. ''Oh really. Step closer.'' He was lying in his nest, away from the heat cooking his long fur. ''Go on. Don't waste my time.'' Wrapping his tail around his body, he closed his eyes and angled his ears forward. ''I'm listening.''

Softwing bite her tounge to avoid saying some she might regret. Something about his voice made her senses go wild with annoyance. ''We saw a Swiftclan apprentice hunting on our territory.'' she began, but spoke louder still, '' And he said something about Stromclan being taken over... Should we have concern?'' She wanted him to open his eyes and at least seem like he was listening.

''Hmmm, this is a cause for concern. Let me think about it. Now, shoo.'' He opened his eyes and tried to ignore Lionheart's presence. He turned away from the two and closed his eyes again, deep in thought of what the she-cat had said.

Softwing stomped out of her leader's den, her tail lashing. ''He acts like he doesn't even care if his clan is taken over!'' she hissed quietly into the dirt. Looking up to Lionheart, she commented to herself how deep and pretty his eyes were. Shaking her head, she thought bitterly ''You have a arranged mate! He's only your clanmate!'' Sighing, she said with a low voice, ''I don't know what will happen if we don't take action against this. Don't you think?''

Lionheart had spent the whole time in Greystar's den trying to avoid eye contact with the leader. His body language betrayed that he was on edge the entire time, ready to have to defend himself from verbal or physical attack. He would have spoke up despite all that but Softwing seemed to handle it herself just fine. Honestly, he didn't know if he would have been able to hold his temper back from getting the better of him if Greystar had spoken so dismissively towards him. It was probably for the best that the she-cat did all the talking. He turned and followed Softwing out of the den as soon as she left.

"That fox-hearted cat must have a pebble for a brain if he thinks we should just ignore this." He spat once he felt like they were far enough out of earshot from his den. Lionheart felt like Greystar wasn't taking this potential threat anywhere near as seriously as he should. He nodded in response to Softwing. "What will happen is they'll walk right up to our camp and we will be practically be inviting them in if we aren't ready." He grumbled. Of course he had no way of knowing whether or not SwiftClan really was trying something but Lionheart was just the type to assume any other clan was looking for a fight.

Welp, heres our reason for war. We catch the apprentice, turns out he's the leaders son, war breaks out, we dicide we don't want the arranged mate system anymore, blah blah blah. You like the idea?)

I might be able to twist a few strings to find out what they could be doing, but I'll need your help.'' She spoke in a determined way, and In a almost boastful voice. ''We'll catch that apprentice.'' She stuck her head up and looked to see if anycat or Houndfang was watching, than bent down again and respectfully licked his shoulder. ''I will get us some food, kay?''

Lionheart frowned slightly, thinking through what she said and exactly what it implied. After a short while his expression was replaced with one of determination as he gave a single nod. He still had questions but he figured it would be better to ask them once they left. There were just too many ears here in camp and he didn't want to risk anyone overhearing.

She eagerly hopped off to the fresh-kill pile and hurriedly picked a rabbit. Bringing the rabbit over to a bunch of ferns over-hanging a small dip in the ground, she motioned her tail to him to come over. When he was beside her, she pushed the rabbit towards him and began to speak. ''We both know that with the oncoming wars caused by our own clans arrogance will cause another's demise. We have no choice but to stop it.'' She took a delicate bite from the rabbit's flank and chewed slowly. ''Do you agree?''

(it's alright. i've been dealing with some stuff since like, last week so i haven't been very active lately anyway)

Lionheart glanced about cautiously before hopping to his paws so that he could trot over to Softwing's hidden location. He took a bite of the rabbit when she slid it towards him before pushing it back, nodding along with what she said as he did so. "If we can prevent suffering, death even, then it is our duty to do so." He said once he had finished his bite of food, "StormClan might be a backwards clan but its still our clan to protect."

She let out a mrrow of harsh laughter. ''Backwards? We're upside down!'' She took a hearty bite of rabbit and swallowed. ''But still, if Greystar is unwilling to protect what's ours, we must stand up for it!'' Taking another bite of rabbit she spoke again, ''I know its a long shot, but if its right, we have no choice.'' She closed her eyes and thought a moment. ''We'll catch him...''

A smile appeared on Lionheart's face. It was refreshing to hear that at least one cat seemed to share his opinion. Everyone else here just seemed so content with the clan's systems. "How are we going to catch him?" He asked after thinking for a moment while taking another bite, "Just hope to catch him running around or actually sneak inside the camp?"

You see, we'll lure him into our territory! With his apparent favorite prey, mouse.'' She pulled a rib from the rabbit's side and gnawed on it thoughtfully. ''We'll make him tell us what's going on.'' Pushing the bone away and taking another few bites, she loved how lean it was.
